CHAPTER FOUR
KIERA'S POVIt's been a while since the incident earlier happened. I am now here at the coffee shop where Aunt Sheena and I decided to meet.I've been waiting for almost 2 hours here currently. Why is she taking so long to come back?I was in the middle of daydreaming when I heard the sound of the wind chimes. I don't know but it feels like something is urging me to look so I automatically turned my head to the location of the door. There, I saw the most gorgeous-looking man I had ever seen. There is something that is pulling me to stare at him. He is wearing a hoodie and simple jeans yet he looks so stunning. Is this city full of gorgeous-looking people? I don't know if I am hallucinating or if he is really looking in my direction too.He just went straight to the barista and ordered something."Hi, can I sit here with you? " I only stopped staring at the guy at the counter when some girl who was wearing nerdy glasses talked beside me."Yes, sure no problem " I answered while gesturing my hand for her to sit down."Are you new here? " She asked then took a sip from her coffee."How did you know? You are the second one who asked me that question. "I asked looking a little puzzled. Are they mind readers? I almost laughed at the thought of it because that's impossible."Oh, it's the way you dress is so different from the locals out there" she answered then chuckled. She looks so nice and approachable."What do you mean? Does my outfit look bad? " I asked and looked at my crop top with denim jacket and denim shorts." No, That's not what I meant to say. " She said while shaking her head." You looked good, your outfit just looked a little revealing and more modern than the locals here" she added then pointed to the people outside.I looked around automatically and saw what she meant. Their clothing is different from mine. They looked a little conservative and a little out of trend in my opinion."You are right, Do you think I should change my way of clothing to fit in here? " I asked then smiled at her."No, No you look good the way you are right now, you look unique and fashionable " she answered."Do you want to be friends? " she asked out of nowhere and extended her hand to shake hands." I am Fiona " she added while smiling ear to ear."I'm Kiera, nice to meet you. " I answered as I shook her hands."We are friends now Kiera don't forget, see you soon. I need to go to class now I will be late in a few minutes," she said laughing then left. What a weird girl, but she seems nice.Seconds after Fiona left I felt the pain in my head again."Arrggg," I said as the pain got stronger. It was worse than the first time. I tried to stand up to look for Aunt Sheena but when I did I just fell and everything went black.Hendrix's Point of ViewI followed the girl in the coffee shop to check her if she was fine. I saw her sitting alone in the corner. When I looked at her I noticed that she was looking at me too. I know I'm gorgeous no need to make it obvious."One americano " I ordered at the counter. After that, I sat down. I chose a table a little far from her. I have super senses so I can still see her or even hear her even in my location now.My forehead creased when I saw Fiona sitting at the same table with her. What is she doing?I am just staring at them while they are chatting.Fiona left and after a few seconds, I saw the girl holding her head and looked like he was in a lot of pain.I immediately stood up to go to her. My timing is perfect because she passed out. Glad that I caught her before she fell.I carried her outside when I saw Sheena."Alpha, what happened? " she asked when she saw me."She fainted while holding her head. " I answered as I put her in their car seat."Do you think we need to bring her to the hospital? " I added." No, Alpha I can take care of her she just needs to drink her medicine at home. ""Okay, make sure she will be fine. ""We will go now Alpha ""Sure go ahead take care of her," I answered then she drove.Kieras's Point of ViewThe ceiling of my room greeted me when I opened my eyes. How did I end up here?"Hey Kiera, how are you now? Are you feeling better now? " Aunt Sheena asked. She was sitting beside my bed." Yes Aunt, what happened? How did I end up here? We are at downtown right?" I asked little confused."You passed out earlier, don't you remember? " she asked. She's right, I just remembered that my head ached all of a sudden then I don't remember anything anymore."Why do I don't see any bruises and wounds on me? If what I remember is right, I fainted while standing. ""Someone helped you, maybe he caught you? " Aunt replied."Oh, I see glad that someone does. "I said like talking to myself."Aunt Sheena I'm ok now, you don't need to look after me. Sorry for troubling you. " I added with a genuine smile."No worries Kiera, your mom trusted me to look after you so I should do my best. Drink your medicine but eat first, your food is there. Rest after you eat ok? "She said then pointed to the small table in my room and I saw a lot of food with cover."Yes, Thanks Auntie. " I answered before she left.I stood up to eat dinner and to drink my medicine because my head was still hurting a little. It's 7:30 in the evening and I am not sleepy yet, maybe because I just woke up a few minutes ago. It's still early so I decided to go outside to unwind and to walk a little to digest what I ate.I was walking for like 3 minutes when I noticed that someone was tailing me. I'm not sure if it was only 1 person because it seems that there was like 2 to 3 presence that I was sensing. If what I think is right thats a bad news, because I'm still weak now because of the medicine. The medicine has side effects that make me lightheaded and drowsy.I grabbed my necklace to get ready. I pressed the button to make it a dagger so that I could use it when someone attacked me."Hey Miss, Come with us if you don't want to get hurt. " A man popped up in front of me. "Wow, a not-so-good-looking man finally appeared. There I was who thought all of the guys here were handsome. I almost laughed at what I was thinking."What do you need? " I calmly said while looking at his ugly face."We do not have any business with you, but our boss has. " the other guy from the back said ,so I'm right he is not alone."Who is your boss? " i said with my creased eyebrow."You don't have to know miss" He said then tried to grab my hand but I immediately move so he stumbled. The other guy from the back tried to catch me so I kicked him in his stomach ."Weaklings." I said because they were both lying on the ground now.I thought they were strong but I guess not. I was about to go to head home ,when I felt something hit my head then everything gets blurry.Oh no not again.THIRD PERSON'S POVAs Lucas left the hospital, his mind was buzzing with thoughts. He knew he had to get back to the pack, but he also couldn't ignore his body's protests. As he stepped out into the night air, he took a deep breath, feeling the cool breeze against his skin. "I know I should rest, but I can't just sit around while everyone's in danger," he muttered to himself. He walked through the quiet streets, the only sound being his footsteps echoing off the pavement. Every shadow seemed to jump out at him, making him tense up with every step. With each step, his muscles protested, reminding him of his recent ordeal. But he pushed through the pain, his resolve unwavering. He had a mission to fulfill, a duty to protect those who relied on him.As he made his way through the deserted streets, his senses on high alert, Lucas couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. Every shadow seemed to shift and move, every whisper of the wind carried an ominous warning. But Lucas refu
THIRD PERSON'S POV Lucas blinked against the harsh glare of the hospital lights, his senses slowly coming back to him. He shifted uncomfortably in the stiff hospital bed, trying to make sense of the situation.Sheena sitting near his bed immediately stands, her smile warm but tinged with concern. "Ah, finally you're awake. How are you feeling, Beta?"Lucas managed a weak smile, his throat dry and scratchy. "Like I've been run over by a freight train. My body is aching all over, what happened anyway?""You don't remember anything?" Sheena asked confused."Yes, I can't recall what happened after the fight," Lucas answered, trying to remember the last events before he passed out."How about Adam? Do you remember him?" Sheena asked.Lucas answered by nodding, he still couldn't believe that Adam could do that."You were brought in unconscious, suffering from wolfsbane poisoning. You've been here for a few days now. It's a miracle you survived. You are so lucky that some citizens found you
Lucas's POVAs the realization of the wolfsbane injection hit me, panic surged through my veins. My muscles began to seize up, betraying me as the poison spread through my body.I gritted my teeth, refusing to let Adam see my weakness. With every ounce of strength left in me, I pushed against the effects of the toxin, struggling to stand even as my limbs trembled uncontrollably.Adam's laughter echoed cruelly in the quiet forest. mocking my futile resistance. "You were always too predictable, Lucas. So blinded by your loyalty to this city that you never saw the truth.""What truth are you talking about? You are the one blinded by your greed. How dare you betray our pack!" I said with remorse."You don't need to know the details, it will be a waste to tell you because you are going to die anyway." He answered with a grin. But I won't give up. Not now, not ever. Ignoring the burning pain coursing through me, I focused on my energy. With a primal roar, I forced myself upright, meeting Ad

The pain from the stab wound intensified, but I refused to let it show.I need to remain strong physically and mentally to protect Hallow City."You traitor," I growled, my voice filled with anger and disappointment. "Why?"How can you do this in your homeland," I asked him with disbelief.Adam's smirk widened as he stepped closer, holding the knife in his hand. "It's nothing personal, Lucas. Just business."His words sent a chill down my spine. "Business? What are you talking about?"Adam chuckled darkly. "You'll find out soon enough. Oops, I am not too sure about that, because it's time to say goodbye to your precious city."With that ominous warning, Adam lunged forward, aiming to strike again. With a deep sigh, I gain my strength, my wounds are slowly healed while he was talking nonstop earlier.I braced myself for the impact, determined to protect my pa
Lucas's POVI think should go to the border first. As I approached the border of Hallow City, I nodded to the guards stationed there, acknowledging their presence."Good day Beta Lucas," one of the guards greeted me with a respectful nod."What's up, Jaro? How's everything been lately?" I asked, scanning the perimeter for any unusual activity."Quiet so far, sir. No signs of trouble," Jaro replied, his tone alert but calm."Good to hear that. The Alpha's away on urgent business, so we need to stay extra vigilant and don't let your guard down anytime." I explained, emphasizing the importance of their role in maintaining security. The other guard, chimed in, "We'll keep a close watch, Beta Lucas. You can count on us.""I know I can. I trust you both," I said, offering a reassuring smile. "If anything comes up, don't hesitate to alert me immediately.""Will do, Bata" they both responded in unison, their dedication evident in their voices.I am glad to have these people around me. They ar
LUCAS 'S POVI was chilling in my house when a car stopped in front of my gate, I went out to look at who it was. " Lucas, the Alpha left a message for you." Hendrix's secretary said when he got out of the car.I laughed then I asked"Why? Where is he right now? Did he go out of town for his honeymoon? Haha""No, there is something urgent in Kiera's place and he went with her to help." He answered seriously.Oh, my bad. I thought that she was away to have some fun."Here, take it. He said the. hand me a white small envelope."Okay, take care Mr." I said as I bid goodbye to him."After he left, I immediately opened the envelope.'Lucas, I don't know how many days I will be gone, so I left a letter just in case. I want to ask you a favor, Lead the Hallow City while I am gone. Ther
