Captain Clinton stood several meters away and stared at the big black gate of a fenced compound. The directions he had received from Rick had led him directly to this point. Though, he had not seen the ambulance as proof . But he knew somewhere beyond the black gate and the fence, the ambulance would be parked . Four men stood before the gate. As one in the field, he could tell some of the loitering men in the area were keeping guard of the premises. Getting in would be very difficult. He was not even sure of what he was really going in there to see. All he had at the back of his mind was to get in.
" Rick. " He spoke through his communicating device. " Rick, can you hear me?"
" Captain Clinton." Rick responded. " I am right here
What is the situation at the moment?"
Mike sat next to Helen on the plane. Steve was in the same row but the next column. Helen had gone asleep and now leaned her head on the glass window of the plane." I am a little bit anxious, you know. " Mike said to Steve." Anxious?" Steve asked." Yes. I am just anxious. "" Why so?"" Do you not think it is normal to be anxious? I mean, considering the journey that we have embarked on, do you not think it is right that I feel anxious at some point? "" You have no reason to be anxious, Mike. "" Come to think of it, Steve. Could it be that my father has a connection to all of this?"
" You have nothing to worry about. You seem to forget I am a grown up man." Mike said and chuckled. " Alright. I will see you later. Love you." He was done with the call. Turning right, he headed straight into an alley. After about two minutes of his walk through the alley, a strange breeze blew across him. The air of fear swept through his lungs. The alley was deserted. His only companions were fear and the darkness of the night. " What's wrong with me?" He muttered, rubbing his palms together. " Help." An almost inaudible voice spoke. " Help…me. " The weak voice called again. Then, his gaze traveled slowly through the night. His whole body went cold as he saw it. A dying man lay by the side. He hastened to him. " Oh my God. What's wrong with you? " He squatted and lifted the man's head. " Blood. You are bleeding. What hap
In the streets of Philadelphia, numerous citizens gathered at different points to watch the president's speech on national news . More citizens crept out of their homes to cuddle closer to each other. The fear in the atmosphere of the country had become very high." Everyday in this country has become a day to hear a new heart breaking story. " A man said, sorrowfully. " We are not even sure of our own lives anymore. "" Just look at what is on the national news. " A lady chipped in. " Why is everything this way? Even the president is about to die. If the president can't even be too sure of his own life, what will become of us?"" I'm so scared right now. " An old woman spoke. " It will be better to just die tonight than to live for more yea
The Chief of the United States secret service had frustration boldly written on his face. What could be wrong with the president? He wondered . He knew clearly that the worst thing that could happen to the nation was to lose their president at a time as critical as the one they were facing." Sir. " Secret service captain Clinton called as he walked up to him near the fountain where he stood. " We have checked everything."" Is there any flop?"" No. The security is tight in every corner "" That's a relief. "" But except for—"" What do you mean
Mike arrived at the scene of the explosion in a haste. The whole place had been sealed completely. Busy workers from different units were at the scene tending to different needs. He jumped off the bicycle he rode to the place . It was not his own. When the news of the explosion got into his ears, a reflex was stimulated in him. And he sought for the nearest means of transportation. A bicycle parked just beside him. He mounted it and rode off. Behind him, the voice of a younger male tried to signal him to stop. But it was a pointless act. He would not deny the fact that he heard it . It was not just the right time to play discipline. His loved one was in that part of Center City where the explosion had taken place. Not just a loved one. He had loved ones residing there. His mother , his friend Steve who turned into a brother and the lady he cherished were all residing there. Earlier that night, when the president's supposed speech was ann
The director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations walked in and headed to one of the control Chambers. No greetings had come as usual. Everyone was just too busy with one thing or the other. And he was frequenting his to and fro walk in the building. The situation had become too tasking for any high ranking official in the security world. And as a matter of fact, the lower ranking ones have been feeling the endless heat of everything. The doors of the room slid open and he walked in effortlessly. " What is the situation now? Any good updates yet? " His eyes wheeled round a technology flooded room . Every computer displayed different locations in the country. " Everyone is still on it. " Agent Wills replied . " My God. " The director drew one of the swivel chai
The darkness of the sky was already moving away slowly as it was dawn. It was already the early hours of the morning. Mike sat on the partially dismantled heap where they found his mother some hours ago. His hands pressed hard on his knees. Steve stood in front of him , looking at the unending work before him . The bodies were still being taken away. A work that lasted through the night till the moment. He sighed and turned to Mike. Mike's face had no signs of smiles. His face was as mean as his heart felt at the moment." Mike. " Steve called. " Mike. " He did not respond. " Mike!" Mike raised his head to face Steve." Mike. Don't tell me you were not absent minded and yet ignored me. "" What is it , Steve? What do you want to say?"
The sky was already becoming filled with a brightness rising from the East. The sun was already coming up. The director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations just stood with his arms locked and stared into the morning sky from the balcony. He had come out there to feel a different air. One different from the work laden breath everyone took in and out. But the peace he sought appeared to be beyond his reach. All his efforts to put away the thoughts proved abortive. The thoughts kept returning to him . And there was nothing he could do about it. He thought of the case with vice governor Wallace. What could really be happening in Philadelphia? The same man they had seen at the site of the explosion was said to have left the house when he called. That made no sense in any way. He sighed. Could he really be innocent? That was no way possible. The images of him that Kane showed them was great proof he was there. Vice governor Wallace has always attracted
