CHAPTER 5

Phoebe pulled away from the hug.

"You can't say you miss me too?" Phoebe asked, storming into the room she jumped on Luna's bed. "Everyone missed your absence."

"I don't believe that." Luna shrugged. "No one visited, no one missed me."

"I could have." Phoebe confirmed. "But I wasn't allowed to go inside, you were not allowed to receive guests and Adrian was busy with practice and now that the full blood moon is near. You are going to be engaged to him, Alexa is going to have a breakdown."

Luna groaned, this was the second time someone was mentioning that witch. She wondered why Alexa was going to give up the one sided love she has for Adrian. It was not as if Adrian was going to like her back.

"What do you have to say to me? Why are you here?" Luna asked as she took her seat next to Phoebe.

Phoebe sat up and peered at Luna. "There is a lot but first, I have to take you to meet my brother, he is waiting."

"Waiting for what?" Luna asked.

"You have to go pick an outfit for your engagement today. Don't tell me you forgot about it?"

"I did." Luna replied. "I forgot about it."

"I reminded you, let's go. There is no way I am letting Alexa make use of this opportunity."

Luna rolled her eyes. "I can't go now."

"You have to."

Phoebe held Luna's hand and began pulling her towards the door. "We don't have much time and you have to go."

"Slow down, if you keep up with this speed. We are going to trip over the stairs."

Her words fell on deaf ears, until Phoebe pulled her down the stairs and she felt satisfied. She glanced at her father who was sitting on the couch and reading a book. Phoebe raised her hand and waved towards him.

"Bye Beta. Luna is going with me to pick a dress for her engagement. I just want to make sure she gets to the pack house on time."

Luna gave her father a pleading look for him to save her but he only smiled at her. Phoebe pulled her all the way to the pack house and stopped in front of Dean's office.

"Here we are, I will take my leave now." Phoebe muttered. "I hate to leave but I have to stop that bitch from disturbing you."

Phoebe turned around to leave but Luna's voice stopped her.

"Let her be, she is not worth it and when do we meet again?"

"I have a lot to tell you." Phoebe glanced over her shoulder. "Not now though, I don't want my mother to see me with you. She asked me to keep a clear distance."

Luna's eyes widened in surprise, her jaw dropped and before she could regain herself to speak. Phoebe was already gone. Luna ruffled her hair, Phoebe was the second friend Luna had made in the pack, after Assy. There was no way Phoebe was going to ignore her, right? She tried really hard to convince herself that she had heard Phoebe wrong.

Perhaps Phoebe was joking around with her but the current Luna had told her daughter to keep a clear distance away from her. Luna sighed, all for the fact that she was forbidden. She wondered if the queen had forgotten how many times she had risked her life to save Phoebe. Was all that going to go through the drain?

She knew that they might say she brought the threat and she took her hit for Phoebe out of guilt. Her fist tightened, if they wanted to keep a clear distance from her, why was she still getting engaged to Adrian? Why hadn't he rejected her? There were a lot of questions she wanted to ask but had no idea who would be able to answer it.

"Father, it is not fair that you want me to get engaged to her and marry her as soon as possible because of how powerful she is and the amount of power and protection this pack will get if she becomes the Luna without bringing any threats to the pack." A voice yelled from the office.

Luna turned around to look at the door, the voice was Adrian's and she heard every word he said. She knew Dean wanted something before agreeing to let her get engaged to his son.

"Don't you want to get married to her?" Dean questioned.

"I want it, she is my mate but she deserves to be treated with respect and not be respected because you want to use her as a great weapon for the pack!" Adrian bellowed.

"You have no option, I would have thrown her out of the pack if she doesn't possess such power. If we let her go and she turns her back against us. We are doomed and you have no right to tell her a word about it."

"Do you know the first thing I would do when I become the Alpha?"

"No."

"I will banish you myself father."

Luna raised a brow as she moved closer to the door. She needed to hear everything that they were saying, the door was slightly opened. She peeked through the door and found Dean sitting on the chair while Adrian was standing next to him.

"Don't make me change my mind about her." Dean said. "I am still the Alpha."

"You can't be the Alpha and be too suspicious of my mate. She risked her life to save your daughter and this is how to want to pay her in return. Father even though she is forbidden, I have thought about this for a very long time. She is going to be your son's Luna and the mother of your grandchildren. Does that ring a bell?''

Dean stood up from the chair he had been sitting on and glanced at Adrian.

"Whatever you are saying doesn't change the fact that she is forbidden and might bring more threats to the pack like she did before."

"I am saying the right thing, you have to show a little bit of respect. Pretend you know nothing about her hybrid nature, it would help you."
