CHAPTER 5

She arrived in the southern pack after two days. Richard was upset. He thought she had run away but she calmed him. She told him what she had done. He listened with a thrill. He was a sly, cunning and ruthless man himself.

With a big grin on his face, he told her how much he loved his women bold and fearless. He told her, his Luna was nothing of sort. And she was the unusual 'stay at home and birth Alphas' type. Nothing exciting about her. She knew his mate, Isabella. Although she didn't like the derogatory remarks he made about his wife, she knew it was the truth and she made no objections.

He told her the news he received from his gammas about the war. The northern pack was a pool of blood and dead bodies. Damian would arrive the next day, bonded in chains and dragged to his house. She would go back to the northern pack and claim her place as the Alpha female of the pack. Ruler of the northern pack. They cheered to that.

Later that night, Alexia had dinner with the Alpha. Alone. He was savouring her beauty. He desired her so much. Off course he did, she was a beauty. Alexia on the other hand couldn't wait for the dinner to be over. He did nothing but profess his undying love and desire for her. It infuriated her. She didn't like hearing such words from anyone other than Damian. The dinner finally came to an end to Alexia's relief. The Alpha left immediately, telling her how he would have loved to stay but he was a busy man. He kissed her cheek and left. She remembered to wash that cheek five times during her bath.

The next day, the southern gammas arrived and like Richard had told her, with Damian in chains. The southern Alpha ordered for the northern Alpha to be thrown into the dungeon. He was thrown into the dungeon.

Later that night, Alexia and Richard went down where the dungeon. Accompanied by a few gammas. Damian was brought out and made to sit on a chair. He had wounds and bruises all over his body. He indeed fought really hard. He was tired, thirsty and hungry, he looked dirty too.

"Damian." She called out to him. Her little voice made a soft echo in the dungeon. Damian had his head bowed low and she got no response. She made to touch him and he shifted back a little. His action broke her heart. She wanted to hold him close and tell him it was over now. She wanted to tell him she still loved him and he still had her. She didn't know if he knew that Hayley was dead or not. His silence was breaking her and she didn't like it.

"You killed her," Damian spoke. He raised his head up and looked at Alexia. Disgust and rage filled his blue eyes. She was taken aback by the declaration. Her heart is beating at a fast pace. She blinked faster. How did he know that? He wasn't supposed to know that.

"No... I... I... I didn't do that." She sounded pathetic.

"And what if she did? What are you going to do about it?" It was Richard that spoke. He was beginning to get irritated by Alexia's show of weakness. She wasn't the Alexia of yesterday whose silver eyes glittered when she was telling him how she killed the omega girl. What happened to the fearless, powerful Alpha female?

Damian growled at Richard. Richard had done what his father did. Richard's father, Rick invaded the northern park and killed Damian's father in the battle. And now, Richard invaded the northern park again and captured him. He looked between Alexia and Richard, he felt rage. He felt disgusted and betrayed. He kept growling at the both of them. Alexia looked scared and heartbroken. The only man she ever loved hated her now. And it was all because of that omega. Even in death, she hated that girl.

"I'm sorry Alexia but we have to do this," Richard spoke and swiftly took a sword from a nearby gamma and Damian's head rolled on the floor. An ear-deafening scream echoed in the room. It was Alexia. Her heart broke into two. Damian was dead. She went down on her knees and growled. Tears flowed freely from her eyes. Her love was dead.

Richard held Alexia up to her feet and guided her to her bedroom. She sat on the bed when they got in. She looked up at Richard.

"You weren't supposed to do that." Killing Damian was not part of her plans.

"We had to. You can't rule the pack with him alive. You're his legal wife and the death of the Alpha without an heir means his Luna rule."

She shut her eyes. It wasn't her plan. She wanted to bear his heir. That night, she could not sleep. An image of Damian's head rolling on the floor haunted her sleep. This wasn't what she wanted. She cried for the whole night.

The next day. She rose early in the morning to return to the northern park. Her eyes were swollen, red and painful. Richard kissed her goodbye and she promised to come back for their union. She would. She wasn't done with him yet.

____________________

The sight that met her at the northern park was pitiful. Most men were dead. Even Damian's Beta was dead. The park was now filled with children and widows. The park was in joy when she returned. She informed them about the death of Damian and there was wailing and grieving again. She played the distressed wife perfectly. She declared seven days of mourning for the Alpha. And seven days, the whole park mourned Damian.

Alexia was declared the Alpha female of the park. Ruler of the northern park. The park would start from scratch. She will build her park and rule it as she pleased.
