The Visitation

Chapter thirty.

Diana's pov

After I dashed out of Luke's shop, I didn't know where I was going, but the rational part of my mind, which I didn't know was still alive, knew that the queen couldn't be trusted. I couldn't go straight home, I couldn't put my mother in danger.

Her sharp eyes and her long claws seemed to be burning in my mind, I would have been dead if it weren't for luke.

I didn't know where I was going and just ran, after I had put some distance between me and Luke's shop, I finally slowed down. The streets were empty, which was weird, usually there were always some people out at night.

I heaved heavily with my hands in my chest, I couldn't stop the tears from falling and just let them go. When I got here, I thought I could have a little peace of mind, maybe my emotions would be in check and I could rest a bit, I was wrong, it felt like everywhere I turned there was always a royal night there to make my life a living hell, maybe I shouldn't even go back to the palace.
