CHAPTER 1

He was back. And he was back with a storm on his heels. He would make all of them pay. The Kent Family would regret ever making him and his wife suffer. He was going to make their suffering long and painful. The loss of his wife to a hit and run after leaving the Kent Mansion was enough to drive him crazy. He knew that the accident was simply not a coincidence.

Someone murdered his wife and unborn child.

When Grandma Grace heard that Rachel was pregnant she almost asked her to come back. She was merciless enough to let a pregnant woman go to jail but she decided not to report the matter to the police and instead took everything away from them and instead let them live in the streets. She had her died a few days after her accident. With no family around.

She died a few days later at the hospital while in a coma. He was never the same after that. He had borrowed some money and left the country to escape the pain he felt every time he thought of his wife. He had secretly investigated the matter but his efforts were always thwarted by some very influential forces in Creedmoor City. Only the Kents had the clout to carry such influence.

He, therefore, held quite the grudge against the family and would only feel satisfied after he saw the total and utter ruin of the Kents Nothing else would bring him any more satisfaction. His first step was to acquire the biggest company in Creedmoor City, York Enterprises.

He called his butler the moment he stepped off a plane in Creedmoor City. “I need to acquire York Enterprises for me at any cost and but first get me the best mansion in the city. I don’t care how high the price is, just do it. And make arrangements to move here permanently. I will be staying in this city for a while. I need my right-hand man.”

Ten minutes later, he received a call, “It’s done. Head there directly. You will find the owners waiting to sign everything over to you.” He instructed the driver of the beautiful mountain blue Rolls Royce Phantom to drive directly to York Enterprises Headquarters.

On arrival, he found a very beautiful woman awaiting him at the entrance. She smiled beautifully at him and introduced herself, “Hello Sir. My name is Agnes Jones and the current Vice President of the company. I have been informed to lead you directly to the conference room where all the partners are waiting. She bowed slightly knowing that she was talking to someone important to get the attention of the partners who owned the business.

York Enterprise was owned by some of the richest families in the city and was worth close to three hundred billion. None of the families were worth anything close to twenty billion individually; therefore they were curious to see who was the mysterious investor who could easily cough up five hundred billion without batting an eye.

Once they entered the conference room, all the partners stood up expecting to see an old man walk in but were very confused to see a very young man who looked to be in his late twenties walk in. They had expected a man older than them.

Zach signalled for them to sit down. “Let’s get down to business. I do not have a lot of time to talk so bring the documents for me to sign so we can get this over with. I have one major request though, my identity must not be revealed to anyone beyond the people in this room. Any leakage in my identity will to the termination of any business relationship between this company and all of your individual business ventures.” That announcement shocked the partners

A very polite secretary then placed the documents on the table in front of them. He signed them quickly and waited for the signal from the man holding the computer at the far end of the table. After receiving the signal that the funds had been received, Zach thanked them all and walked out. He was followed by an older gentleman man who walked him towards the president’s office and introduced the business aspects to him.

He introduced himself as Lord Quinton Moore, the patriarch of the Moore family. After completing the introductions, he left the office. Agnes walked in afterward, only to be surprised to see Zach sitting at the President’s chair. Zach noted her surprise and chuckled slightly. He looked at her with a sly smile and spoke.

“Don’t look so surprised Agnes. I am the new company president. So I need you to make a few announcements. First, make the announcement that York Enterprises is not under the new ownership of one Mr. Garrett. Don’t give any more details. Secondly, announce that the company will be undertaking the construction of a new residential community in the outskirts of the city with an estimated budget of two billion dollars. Bids for the construction and interior decoration of the villas and apartments will begin immediately. Thirdly, if this company has any business relationship with the Kent family, I need them all terminated. I don’t care whether the projects are ongoing or are for the future, just terminate all of them. That’s all. I will call you if I need you.”

The three announced made waves in the city. No one knew who this mysterious Mr. Garrett was but he was mightier than God. Rumours were already spreading that he had acquired York Enterprises for four hundred billion but no one knew the truth that the business had been acquired for much more than that.

Those hit harder were the Kents. The backbone of their business was the business relationship between them and York Enterprises. They had no idea what they had done to face the wrath of the owner but they were willing to do anything to repair that relationship. If they failed to do so, that would mean the end of the Kent family.
