I gazed at the river, watching it rush away swiftly, while my reflection in the water outlined each new scar on my body. The marked stretches and elevations were not just physical wounds; I now understood, as I had read in the sacred book, that the rapid healing of a werewolf's skin did not guarantee the disappearance of the marks.

I took a deep breath, staring at the sky and allowing tears to stream down my face. The pain was not confined to my body; my soul and emotions were shattered. I questioned how long I could endure this battle.
