CHAPTER 39 - A Mate's Debate
SKYLER'S POV
I wake the next morning, still wrapped in Elijah's arms. I sigh, stretch a little, and smile as Elijah growls low and kisses the back of my neck and shoulder. I turn in his arms and kiss him, but pull back and push against his chest as he runs his fingertips over my ribs and tickles me.
He stops and then gets this sly look in his eyes he always gets when he is planning something that I am not going to like to start with, but will enjoy. He then pulls me back to him and kisses up and down my neck and chest, making me let out a mix of a moan and a growl, which then turns into laughter as he tickles me once again.
It takes me a little while, but I manage to squirm and wriggle out of his hold and off of the bed. I then head into the bathroom, turn the water on and step under the water as soon as it has warmed. I feel much better after the time with Elijah last night, and even Alice feels a little better. At least she is talking to me agai

SKYLER'S POV He then gets up and walks out the back door. I sigh. As much as I need him, I still can't seem to get past what he did. The trust I gave him knowing that he was an Alpha, that he had saved me from my father's punishments and showed me that there was more to life than chores and pain. I never expected to find my mate, but I also knew that if I ever did, then he would want to enjoy my body. I was just hoping that my mate would make love with me instead of just taking it. SKYLER'S POV Once inside, I stand off to the side of the door and personally welcome everyone as they enter. It isn't long before some of the outside Alpha's start to arrive. After a while, I move from the door and over to one of the refreshment tables. I take a small glass of water as my stomach rolls a little. I put the glass down and jump a little as 2 arms wrap around me from behind. I smile and relax as I feel warmth and butterflies skim over my skin. Nathan then whispers into my ear, "Angel? Will you dance with me?" I turn in his arms and nod. Nathan then leads me onto the dance floor, making me laugh as he spins me around.
