LOGINSERA'S POV
I thought I had seen the worst.
The last time I was this shocked was when I found out my parents had betrayed the pack. That day, my world shattered. But this— this was even deeper.
I stood frozen in place, unable to breathe properly. My eyes were locked on Victor— the man I believed hated me with every drop of his blood. Yet here he was, standing in front of me… as my mate.
My mate.
The environment seemed to spin. Everyone around me faded. All I could see was him. Victor, Alpha of the Nox pack. Strong. Cold. Angry. But right now, his slow steps toward me felt like a scene out of a movie.
So many thoughts raced through my head.
Was he going to hug me?
Maybe he’d kiss me and declare me his Luna in front of everyone. Maybe this was the moment I had never dreamt before.
But no.
"You can never be my mate! You can never get my love!" Victor roared.
His eyes were full of hatred— but his hands told a different story. They wrapped tightly around my waist, pulling me close. Too close.
His grip was firm, almost desperate.
"What?" Mia gasped beside me, shocked just like I was.
Everyone stared. I could feel their eyes on us, burning into my skin. My heart dropped. I wanted to vanish, disappear into thin air.
"You heard me!" Victor shouted again. "The Moon Goddess must have made a mistake."
Then he let go and walked away, like I meant nothing.
Tears filled my eyes. But it wasn’t because he rejected me.
It was because, in front of everyone, he reminded them of who I was— the daughter of traitors. The girl whose parents almost ruined the Nox pack. The one no one wanted.
I couldn’t take it anymore.
I turned and ran into the forest. My heels dug into the earth as I moved, but I didn’t care. I forced my wolf out, letting her take control. She was fast. Wild. Free.
Mia’s voice echoed behind me, calling my name, but I didn’t stop.
I didn’t even see the huge tree until it was too late. I tried to stop, tried to shift back, but I failed. My head hit the tree hard, and everything went black.
The next time I opened my eyes, I was lying on a big, soft bed. It looked expensive— huge pillows, thick blankets, and gold frames. I sat up slowly, groaning as pain shot through my head.
I touched it. It had been bandaged. Someone had taken care of me.
Where am I?
I looked around the fancy room, still feeling dizzy. Slowly, I stood up and stepped into the hallway. I could hear clattering sounds— spoons and plates hitting each other. It smelled like breakfast.
I followed the sound until I reached a dining room.
"Come join us, dear," a kind woman said with a smile. She looked older, graceful, and calm.
"Good morning," a man greeted me. He was sitting beside her.
I blinked. Morning? I had been unconscious all night?
I stepped closer to the table and noticed a guy sitting quietly, eating. He looked around my age, maybe a bit older. Handsome, with sharp features. He didn’t even glance at me.
"I’m Lyra," the woman said, serving me food. "And this is my husband, Jack, the Alpha of this pack. That’s our son, Mike. He’ll be the future Alpha."
"I’m Sera," I said, still confused. "Where am I?"
"You’re in the Skoll pack territory," Lyra replied kindly.
Skoll?
My heart skipped. The Skoll pack. The stories about them were terrifying. They were no ordinary wolves—they were like the werewolf mafia. They ran drugs, controlled borders, and didn’t forgive easily. Stealing from them meant death.
"How did I get here?" I asked.
"Mike found you in the forest," Alpha Jack said. "He brought you home."
I looked at Mike. "Thank you."
He didn’t reply. Didn’t even look at me. He just continued eating like I wasn’t there.
"Please eat," Lyra said gently.
I nodded and tasted the food. It was delicious. Better than anything I had eaten in weeks.
But the food didn’t calm me. I was nervous.
"I need to go back home," I said, standing up.
"Oh, so soon?" Alpha Jack asked. "At least let us know more about you."
That was the problem. I didn’t want them to know who I was. Not here. Not in the Skoll pack. According to everything I had ever heard, these people hated traitors and thieves more than anything else.
And my pack—Nox—had a history with them.
"So, Sera," Jack asked, "what pack are you from?"
I hesitated.
"My name alone will give me away," I thought.
But lying might get me killed. I had no choice.
"I’m from the Nox pack."
There was silence.
Then, finally, Mike looked up. His eyes locked on mine.
"Wow," he said. His voice was calm but cold. "The same pack that’s been stealing from us."
My chest tightened.
"What?"
"Yeah," he continued. "Your Alpha, Victor, has been stealing our cocaine and weed. For years."
My mouth opened, but no words came out.
"And now," Mike said, setting his spoon down, "we heard that the Moon Goddess bonded him with a mate. So our punishment is simple. First, we kill his Luna—his younger sister. Then, we take the Nox territory. Then we kill him."
I couldn’t breathe.
Luna. That word echoed in my head.
The Luna they planned to kill… was me.
I had just finished eating with the people planning my death. And they didn’t even know.
They smiled at me. Welcomed me. Fed me.
And if they knew who I really was, they would kill me before I could blink.
I kept a straight face.
My mind raced. I needed to leave this place— fast. Before they discovered the truth.
I nodded slowly, pretending to be calm, even though inside me, everything was falling apart.
SERA'S POV “So, you’ve gotten to the stage where you ask a stranger if I’m telling the truth or not?” Victor asked, his eyes fixed on Mia.Mia didn’t even flinch. “I think so,” she replied, and without another word, she stood up and left the dining room.Victor turned his gaze on me. “Thanks. I owe you,” he said.I didn’t respond. My mind was too busy. I felt uneasy, like a child who had just stolen candy. I had just lied to Mia, my friend, and it didn’t sit right in my heart. I wanted to disappear. I wanted to find the nearest excuse and leave this place before I drowned in regret.“The maids will lead you to the room prepared for you, if you’re ready,” Victor said with a small smile.“I’m ready,” I replied almost immediately. Why would I waste time? The faster I left his presence, the better. Two maids appeared as if they had been standing behind the door, waiting for the signal. They led me down a quiet hallway, and soon we stopped in front of a room. When I stepped inside, I froz
SERA'S POVI never expected that our visit to Anna’s shrine would start with drama. But knowing Mia, anything was possible. As soon as Anna opened the door and let us in, Mia went straight to the point, not even giving Anna a chance to settle."My brother told me there is no solution to the curse in our land?" Mia asked, standing tall and proud like she owned the shrine.Anna froze for a second. I noticed it. Mia noticed it. Even a blind person would have noticed it. That pause was suspicious. Mia narrowed her eyes and asked, "What is that look?"Anna blinked and tried to act normal, but the damage was already done. She had been caught off guard."I never believed he would tell you," Anna finally said, looking around like someone who had just been exposed on national TV. "It was a huge secret.""Yes, it is," Mia said, folding her arms. "So what is the solution?"Anna didn’t answer right away. Instead, she asked another question, which only made Mia's eyes roll like a soccer ball. "Wha
SERA'S POV"Our land is cursed. Anything planted can't grow," Victor said when Mia asked why he had been hijacking almost all of the Skoll pack’s hard drug shipments. The moment he said that, something clicked in my head. For months now, I had hardly seen green grass anywhere within the Nox pack territory. It all made sense suddenly, though I still didn’t want to believe it.“What are you talking about?” Mia asked, her face confused. She clearly didn’t understand what Victor meant. “How are they food when nothing can grow in the land?” she added.“That’s the usefulness of the stealing,” Victor replied calmly, like he was explaining something as simple as why the sky is blue. “I hijack the Skoll pack’s shipments, rebrand them, and then sell them at a cheaper price to feed the whole pack.”Mia stared at him like he had grown two heads. She didn’t believe a single word he said. Her hands went to her waist and she started pacing around the room. That was her thing— she paced when she was
Chapter 6:🧠 BRAINS NOT INCLUDEDMIA'S POVOne thing you should know about the Adams family is that they don’t send warnings quietly. They don’t leave threats behind like puzzles to solve. No, they look you straight in the eye and tell you they’re going to kill you. And once they say it, you're as good as dead. That’s just how they are. You can run to heaven if you want, but even heaven won’t save you. No hiding place is safe. Once they mark you, they’ll find you. That’s the kind of people we’re dealing with. The kind who breathe trouble. The kind who eat death for breakfast. So, I wasn’t mad because Victor had been stealing. No, I was furious because he was stealing from the Skoll Pack— the same pack that caused our parents' death. The same monsters that left us broken and cold.I stood up from Sera’s bed with my blood boiling. I didn’t even try to hide the fire in my steps. I was going to confront my brother. I had no plan, no speech— just rage.“Where are you going?” Sera asked, h
SERA'S POV"You know, I didn’t even want to attend the ceremony," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. My heart was racing. I wasn’t just making small talk — I was trying to distract Mike from asking more questions. Dangerous questions."But my best friend forced me to go," I added quickly, giving a weak laugh.Mike kept his eyes on the road as he drove. His hands were firm on the wheel, his expression unreadable. "You shouldn't have come," he said at last. His voice wasn’t angry, but there was something serious in his tone. "If I hadn’t seen you lying there in the woods, you might’ve been killed. A bear, a wolf… anything could’ve attacked you."I nodded slowly, pretending to be calm. "You’re right. Thank you for helping me. I really appreciate it."Outside, the trees zipped by. The road twisted through the forest, and with every turn, I felt more anxious. We were getting closer to Nox pack territory. My home. My pack. My heart beat faster. No matter how much Victor hated me right
SERA'S POV After the tense breakfast conversation with Alpha Jack and his family, I was more than ready to leave. But Lyra, the Alpha’s wife, stopped me gently with a warm smile.“At least let me prepare a warm bath for you before you go,” she said.I nodded, even though every part of me was uncomfortable. I had heard their plans— plans to destroy my pack. I knew I didn’t belong here, and I needed to leave fast and report everything to Victor. But I couldn’t act suspicious or they might guess something. So I followed Lyra without protest. She led me to a large, beautiful bathroom. The bath was already filled with warm water. It was hotter than I expected but perfect for the chilly morning. I stepped in carefully, trying to stay calm even though my mind was racing with panic.Lyra didn’t leave the room. Instead, she knelt beside the bath and started washing me like a mother would do to her child. It felt strange. I didn’t know what to say or do."You know," she started, "my son was on
