Welcome To Hell

The three-story brown brick building sat proud and tall with a small playground on the grounds for the younger kids. Voices of kids filled the air as excitement for the new year began. Teens that were heading towards the building were flirting or joking with friends. Today was the beginning of a new school year. Some had hope, some it was their first, others just wanted to hang with friends and get out of their homes, and others hated this place. All the little groups of the popular kids versus those who were not were like hell on earth.

Alice scrunched up her nose in distaste for her last year in school. She knew she would have to deal with the bullies that littered the halls, dodge all the insults that floated her way and rise above it all and get good grades just so she could leave this place. She had her sights on leaving this pack and going to a university in another state in another pack.

Standing at an average height of 5’4 she was the epiphany of average. Her hair was a pale blonde almost white with bright sky blue eyes. Just a normal she-wolf dressed in hot topic attire. Short, school-approved black skirt with a black band shirt that had one of her favorite bands on it. Anyone who claimed that Green Day was not one of the most influential bands of all time is sadly mistaken she felt. Her hair was loose down her back in small natural curls. On her feet were a pair of black boots. Marcia, her best friend referred them to her hooker boots. But they rocked most of Alice’s outfits and she loved how they gave her an extra height of three inches. Her face was devoid of makeup, except for the exception that was lip gloss.

With her head down she made her way inside pulling out the paper that told her what locker was hers and the combination to open it. Seeing that it was near her homeroom made her feel happy that she may get in the classroom before she was noticed.

Laughter and the sounds of a female with a high-pitched voice that felt like nails on a chalkboard filled Alice's ears. Her gaze went down the hallway as she went to pass it. Morgan was there with her boyfriend the new Alpha Jared Stone. He had just turned eighteen and after this Friday at the full moon, he may be able to find his mate. Everyone thinks it will be Morgan, his dad’s Beta’s daughter. Her brother Josh, the new Beta,  was down there laughing and punching the Gamma Luke in his right arm. They were the popular kids. The ones Alice tried to avoid. Her legs began to move faster to get to her classroom. Once she put her stuff in the locker and sat down in a seat in the classroom she found herself feeling like she could breathe again.

Things though are not fair and all would not be right in the world if the people she wanted to avoid all day did not show up in the same homeroom. In this school, they had the kids all in a homeroom split by pack. If there were any humans they would have their own homeroom but not know that the others were run by werewolves. For years the four packs that went to this school mixed their kids up in hopes to grow bonds for the future. It also helped to keep the kids in an environment that nurtured both halves of themselves.

So when the six of them entered the classroom it fell silent and Alice slumped a bit more in her seat. Sending a small prayer to the Moon Goddess they would not notice her. But as luck or bad luck will have it they moved over to the seats near her that were not taken yet. As the three females in their group passed she heard one say “ Oh its Charity case”

A small growl left Alice's throat at being called that. It was a favorite nickname that was used cause her family was not one of the richest in the pack. Both her parents were simple pack wolves. Her dad was a warrior and her mom helped out at the daycare or pup care as it was referred to.

Someone kicked at her chair causing it to go sideways and almost making her fall. She glared at the group only to get shoved off the chair. She wanted to retaliate but being that they were all high-ranking wolves nothing really would happen to any of them. Alice got back up from the floor and back in her chair. She wanted to move seats but now all the seats were full.

“ The seat you have taken this morning will be your assigned seat for the first quarter. We will then see about changing seats next quarter” Mrs. Johnson said from the front of the classroom.

After this announcement, she began to go over anything new happening with the pack and anything upcoming for the school. Alice barely paid any attention to what was being said. Instead, her thoughts went to her work schedule for today and the training she had to do. Like everyone else in the pack, they wanted them to at least have defense skills. But cause her dad was a warrior he wanted her to know a bit more than that.

On her way to her next class, she noticed people staring and laughing at her. Until her other best friend Lewis came over and pulled a piece of paper off the back of her shirt she had no idea was there. On it said “ Donations Needed”

“ I see it already began,” He said to her arching one eyebrow.

“ Yeah, but don’t you know High school is the time of your life...How you been Lewis?” She said sending him a small smile.

“ Just trying to learn the ropes from my dad. After my birthday next month, I will become Gamma in my pack. Asher is really looking forward for me to join him and the others.”

“ I am sure Alpha Asher will be glad that his Gamma has been getting his ass kicked by a girl.” She said smirking a bit.

“ Only you Alice. Only you.” He said shaking his head.

It was crazy how powerful Alice was. She could easily become a warrior which she knew her dad had wanted her to become. But she wanted nothing more than to leave this pack. Only two ways for her to be able to do so. One go to a university and the second the far easier way. Have a mate that is in another pack. The only way that would not work is if she were a high-ranking wolf cause then he would have to move into her pack. Alice was not sure if she will meet her mate anytime soon. She had high hopes he was not part of her pack or she would be stuck here.

The duo went to their next class and the day went by as most high school days do. As the promise of lunch came closer so did the dread. While it was great for the nourishment it was far easier for the bullies to find her trio. Though sometimes her trio was extended when Alpha Asher, His Beta Silver, and their mates joined them for lunch. Alpha Asher was the Alpha of Moon Peak While The rest belonged to Iron Paw. They all had gone to school with one another since grade school. So with the promise of food and friends the lunch bell rang.
