Ava's POV

The first time I met Al in a short distance, my heart nearly stopped beating. I will never forget how his cold eyes looked at me, the very first time he saw me. I didn’t know what to do especially since I couldn’t find my voice in that unexpected moment. Our families had arranged a meeting at a restaurant, a gathering meant to discuss business but I didn’t understand a single thing or any of it. I just sat there, staring at Al, who didn’t say a single word. He looked down at his food, then after a while, he started looking at his phone, scrolling as if the world around him didn’t matter.

The restaurant was full of chatter, the clinking of glasses and plates, and the murmur of conversations between our parents. They talked about deals and partnerships, terms and numbers that sounded foreign to me. I was lost in that world but my focus was on Al. His eyes were like ice, distant and cool and they made me feel nervous and shy. I wanted to say something to break the silence but no words came out. I was frozen in my seat, watching him, hoping he would look up and notice me but he seemed lost in his own world.

I remember how the air felt heavy, how my heart pounded in my chest, and how I tried to breathe normally, but it was hard. The first impression he made was a mix of mystery and distance. He didn’t smile, didn’t speak, just ate and looked at his phone as if he was somewhere else entirely. I felt like a small boat on a big sea, tossed by waves of uncertainty and curiosity.

As the night went on, the families continued their discussions but I was stuck in my own thoughts. I wondered who Al really was, what he was thinking, and why he seemed so detached. I wanted to know him, to understand the person behind those cold eyes but I was too shy to approach. The dinner ended, and we all left the restaurant, but the memory of that first meeting stayed with me, a mixture of excitement, confusion, and a yearning to connect.

This was the beginning of a story I never expected, a story that started with a silent, cold glance, and a heart that skipped a beat. It was a moment that changed something inside me, a spark of curiosity and hope even though the conversation never happened that night. I left the restaurant with a feeling that this was just the start, and maybe, someday, Al would look at me differently.

I could hear a sarcastic tone from my friend's voice but I just sighed to release the sadness within me but it has no effect at all!

I know that it was my fault not asking his permission or not asking him if it was really okay for us to marry each other. It was so sudden that even I, couldn't speak and sank everything in!

"Siyempre hindi ka papansinin hanggang ngayon because of the things that happened between you two. Baka nakakalimutan mo na ikaw ang dahil—— no, let me rephrase that. This marriage stole the life he wanted to have.. his first love."

I know I am tedious and that is how I brought curse to our lives. I am nothing. I am not that beautiful because of my long hair and bangs. I am petite but no taste when it comes to fashion. I am a jinx to his life. I stole his first love. This is.. yeah.. unfair to him. While I, don't have a dream and I don't even know what skills I have.

"Oh, natahimik ka na diyan? Anong gagawin mo? Don't blame him. Just let him do what he wanted to do na kahit gusto mo man, hayaan mo na lang na i-build ang gusto niyang bagong buhay bilang the famous billionaire tycoon in the whole town," Eva stated.

I even learned cooking for him and then prepared things before he went to his work. Everyday, I am always ready for the things that may come pero, mas handa pa pala siya sa akin. I responded and thought about the things that always happen everyday here in our abode.

"Alam mo? Just leave the house muna kay Ate Rica.

"Okay, I'll be there."

  • Tears of the Unwanted Wife   Chapter 6: Argument

Ava's POV"Do you want to play anak?" ngiting tanong ko kay Altar. He looked.. sad."Mom, you're tired. I saw you working po kanina sa room niyo," he said softly while his eyes were in his toys. "You saw me working?" Kaya ba parang may bumukas at sumira ulit ng pinto? Am I really that busy that I didn't notice that my son was there? "Opo. I was about to ask you po if you're done eating your lunch but I saw a tray on your table po kaya hindi na po 'ko nag-continue pumasok po," he responded and then looked up at me. He smiled again but it didn't reach his cheeks."Bakit parang sad ang baby ko?" Lumuhod ako sa harapan niya and I guided his chin so that he could look at me more. "P-Po? Hindi naman po ako sad eh," he cutely said with blown cheeks. I smiled sweetly because he was showing me that he was already matured. "Anak, you know that Mom do

  • Tears of the Unwanted Wife   Chapter 5: Altar

Ava's POVI went home last night tipsy. I didn't think about my husband anymore because for sure, he doesn't think about me as well. He looked so happy together with his colleagues especially the girls. They were so happy together as if he didn't have a wife. Luckily, he didn't see me and gladly, I was able to control myself not to get near them and gave him a word. That he has a wife and flirting with some girls in front of me was cheating. She was smiling so brightly so I did the same thing to her and then near her. "Kamusta ang off mo, Manang? Did you en

  • Tears of the Unwanted Wife   Chapter 4: Punishment

It was when the marriage night ended and we were both caged in the room prepared by our parents. I didn't know that it was their idea but I was accused by him for making such a scheme."Do you think I will fall for your tricks, huh?" he coldly muttered and then neared me. He tightly held my jaw that made me groan so painfully because of the pain. "I-I didn't know what you were talking about! I already fell on this fucking trap and I will make sure

  • Tears of the Unwanted Wife   Chapter 3: Smile I Never Had

Ava's POV As soon as I stepped into the bar, the changing lights from the disco ball hit me. The bouncers didn’t ask me anything because they already knew I was friends with the owner. I just shook my head because the place was still packed with people.. it’s a famous bar, after all. This wasn’t my first time here. Even before I got married, I used to come here often with Eva and other friends. Inside, the music was loud, and the lights flashed in colors of red, blue, and green, making the crowd move like a wave. The air was thick with laughter, chatter, and the clinking of glasses. The bouncers, big and serious, just nodded at me as I walked past, no questions asked. They knew me, and I felt a little proud of that. The bar was always full, night after night, with people dancing, drinking, and having fun. It was a popular spot in the city, and everyone wanted to be here. I looked around and saw familiar faces.. people I had met before, some I had shared stories with. I remembered th

  • Tears of the Unwanted Wife   Chapter 1: Her and Him

Ava's POV I thought life as a spouse would be easy, especially when you love your partner so much. I thought everything would change as days, months, and years passed. I thought I would learn everything by doing all I could just to be seen and loved. I thought life would be happy, especially living under one roof together. But it was all just my imagination. In the early days, I dreamed of a life shared with my beloved, a home filled with laughter and warmth. I believed love would smooth every rough edge, that time would heal and transform all our flaws. I gave my all trying to please, to be noticed, to be cherished thinking that effort alone would make everything perfect. But until now, I still don't know. Days turned into months, months into years, and the house we lived in became a place of quiet moments and small fights. The love I thought would be a bright flame flickered sometimes and I realized that marriage is not just a fairy tale. It is a journey of patience, of learning
