Maverick's POV

Just like the other days, I couldn't escort Blue back to her car, I was literally rock hard, trying to keep myself calm and stable. I changed into my practice clothes, and I was out with Jim. He had a lot to say about my ‘hot aunt’, and how he's definitely down to have an older woman. Only if he knew the amount of trouble that came with this one.

I was still at the court, but done with practise when Liam and Chloe showed up. I took a little more of the water in the bottle before they could get to where I sat. I shook hands and hugged Liam. I could not get my sweaty body close to Chloe, so we just shook hands.

“What's the occasion?” I asked. “Y'all don't just randomly show up to my practise unless there's something important to discuss.”

“Get your stuff, and let's get out of here.” Chloe said.

“Now, that's very scary, and I can't even tell what exactly us going on here.” I said, and they still looked at me like there was something up.

Chloe folded her arms, stood sla

Maverick's POV “Wolfsbane?” Peter whispered to me. I nodded as my stomach churned. This wasn’t just a setup. It was surgical.“Whoever did this must have known whom exactly to target.” I sighed. James folded his arms. “Can you confirm, Dr. Myles, that wolfsbane weakens even the strongest wolves?”“Yes. It lowers strength, slows healing, and can be fatal in high doses.”“So in short,” James said, turning back to the court, “Billy Campbell could’ve been taken down… by a human. Because someone drugged him first.”“Yes, he could have. In fact, the amount of wolfsbane in his system is enough to kill an omega, or a rogue.” She said, hitting more nails in my already made coffin. He turned toward me slowly, then smiled.“I rest, for now.”“Defense, your witness?” The General said, and honestly, I wasn't even expecting him to stand up, or even ask any questions. What question can even in its best undo the carnage that has already been done?” Peter stood up slowly, but there was nothing unsu

Maverick's POV I slept off immediately I got home, and thankfully, the room wasn't smelling so awful. I woke up early before Liam, had my bath, got dressed for my court appearance. So many things would definitely happen, and I have to come out on the winning side of this struggle. I took two buses and one uber to get me where I had to, and then I walked the rest of it till I got to the wolf court, and thankfully, I was on time. “Damn, I thought you weren't going to show up again.” He chuckled, shaking my hands.“You guys already want me dead. Not showing up is like signing my own death warrant.” I said, and he chuckled. I looked around as we walked to our side of the court, and Blue wasn't there. It doesn't really matter. This is all on me, and I have to face it all alone. “Did you get the files I sent to you?” I asked.“Yeah, but they're not useful, at least not yet.” He said. “When you get something more useful, we can discuss it, and probably try to find a way out of all of it

Maverick's POV “Uhm… no.” I muttered, already harder than seven rocks as one. “Want your first time to be with me?” She said, and I swallowed hard. I had literally dreamt of this moment. “Yes.” She said, and our lips collided again. My hands gently moved from her butt to her waist, and when she probably saw that I was wasting a lot of time, she put my hands on her boobs. That was all the encouragement I needed to squeeze it hard. She removed my shirt, and I was working my way through her bra from underneath her cloth when her phone rang again. She growled like she'd throw it off, but she softened at the sight of the name; Ashley. “I need to know what's wrong.” She said, picking up the phone while I unhooked her bra with ease. “Hello?” Blue said.“Girl, Luca has been calling you. Why haven't you been picking?” Ashley snapped on the other end of the phone. Blue didn't realize that I could hear, but I tried not to, especially when his name came up. “I'm busy.” Blue shrugged, mov

Blue's POV Ashley was speaking but her words fell on deaf ears because I had zoned out. All I could think of was the amount of hurt he had caused me when I was challenged for my father's seat as Alpha. It was so much trauma. “Ashley, stop.” I said, and she kept quiet immediately. “It's not your fault that that low life texted you. Stop making it look like yours.”“Are you sure you're not mad?” “I'm mad that has the audacity to want anything from me.” I hissed.“Didn't you hear anything I said?” Ashley's eyes widened. “He doesn't want to ask for your help, he wants to take your seat.” I laughed at the idea of what Ashley said. “This time when he tries, I'll take his miserable life.” I growled, feeling really angry. We stopped talking about that subject matter, and somehow, we both slept off. I woke up when I caught Maverick's scent all over the place. I almost forgot that I instructed Jefe to pick him up. Ashley was already awake, and I was particularly bothered that I might have

  • The Alpha Consort: A Blue Murder    Chapter 20

Blue's POV Allison drove really fast, as we had to get to the pack house really fast. A meeting demanded by the biggest and most dangerous cartel in the wolf world doesn't come without several dangers. It was something that could make me scared, and it's definitely something that the wolf world should be worried about. “Allison, I have to read the message myself to be sure he didn't state any reason why he wants to meet.” I said, and she passed a tablet to me. They had sent the message in form of a ghost mail. It's a very common way of sending messages, making sure the sender can't be traced, no matter how good the hacker is. I read through the mail about four times before we arrived at the pack house, but there was nothing stating why he wants to meet. “Alpha, do you know why he wants to meet?” Allison asked as she opened the door for me. “I don't know, but I think it's pretty obvious.” I said, alighting the car and walking in, feeling nervous and bothered. “We killed the busine

Blue's POV Maverick ate the pancakes in silence. He wasn't talking or even properly responding to me. His head was buried in the files I sent him. He is a very pretty boy. The moon goddess did me a good one on that. “So, have you figured anything out yet?” I asked, and he slightly glanced at me. His blue eyes were on me for a few seconds, and I realized how confused I was getting about all of these things ‘Yeah, no, I've gotten nothing yet.” He sighed, running his hand through his hair. “At least now, I'm absolutely sure that someone was behind both killings.” “Is a but coming through?” I asked, squinting my eyes. He shook his head and folded his arms. “There is no but. I have a feeling that the person might be well connected, you know? Have connections with the police and all.” Maverick said.“And why do you think so?” I asked.“Two days after a report his filed, he wounds up dead, and no one is talking about it. That's madly sus if you ask me.”“I think that's because everyone

Maverick's POVI stayed by the window, unable to leave. I watched Blue blush at literally every word he spoke. There were still elements of a blush when she was trying to look serious, and it had me wondering what he must have done to have her down so bad for him. And here I am, unable to get any lady. Chloe likes another boy, and now the one my heart keeps misbehaving for is blushing at another man's words. I watched them walk away, holding each other's hands.“Bro, I wasn't brought here to like anyone.” I said, putting myself back in place. “This is purely business.”I repeated that to myself, and I increased the rate of my repetition after she sent me a message about leaving. That alone broke my heart, and now I have to wonder how I'd leave the pack without the pitiful eyes of several werewolves on me. Someone knocked on the door almost an hour later, where I was still thinking about how to get out of the mess I was in. “Who's there?” I asked.“Allison.” She responded, and I wa

Blue's POV “So, I'll need the map you guys got.” I said, walking to my seat.“What map, Alpha?” Jay asked.“The Dark Haven’s. We need to get this hit quickly.” I said. “Also, did you guys get the footage?”“Yes Alpha, we got it.” They rolled a map on the table, and they were all discussing what they felt could be the best move into the place. “Have you guys studied their movement?” I asked, and Jay stood up.“They have meetings at about 11PM, and then when it's 1AM, they disperse to their various abodes if there's nothing important to do.” He said, and I gave a quick nod.“What are they always doing in those two hours?” I asked.“Talking about women, money, drugs and what not.” Kylie responded, and I gave another nod.“What's the plan, Alpha?” Kylie asked, and I looked at the map again, seeing every thing I had to see.“Okay, here's it.” I said, sharing my plan with them. By the time I was done, and they were all gearing up, I called Allison to the side.“I need you to do somethin
