Hyacinth's POV

I woke up with uncertainty in my heart. I did everything absentmindedly because I couldn't stop thinking about the vision.

“Your Highness, you've been so quiet. Are you okay? Do you need me to do anything?” Liora asked, looking at me with concern.

I took a deep breath, swallowing hard before looking at Liora.

“Yes, I'm okay.” I said, forcing a smile.

“Goosebumps are literally popping on your body every few minutes.” Liora pointed out, and I rubbed my body, realizing that she was right.

“I'm fine, Liora. I just feel a little cold.”

“Are you sure? Do you want me to make you some tea?” She asked, looking really concerned.

“No, I'm okay.”

“Would you like to skip breakfast so you can stay in bed?”

I chuckled, shaking my head. “Let's go, Liora. I'm fine, I promise.”

I got dressed and we headed for the dining hall. Breakfast was a blur, as I was just there physically. Kael didn't speak a word to me, but I was barely even listening to him. Kael left the room, and I left almost immediately with Liora.

“Your Highness, your quietness scares me.” Liora mumbled, and I shrugged.

“Liora, I think I just need some time to think.” I muttered. “Where is the royal stable?”

“The royal stable? Why, your Highness, if I may ask?” Liora sighed.

“I want to ride the best horse. I think that should get my mind off things.”

“But…  but… that's just for boys to do. We can knit, or maybe taste food, or even cook a special human delicacy?” She suggested.

“Err… After several considerations, I suggest we got to the royal stable.” I ordered, and she sighed.

She led the way since I didn't know my way around yet. I had barely spent a few days here, and I was already so exhausted and tired.

We arrived at the stable not long after. Mikah and Mikael hauled out the omega in charge of the stable. He was shivering from fear as Mikah kept growling.

“Hey, don't be such a bully.” I hissed at him, holding the stable keeper's shoulder to comfort him.

“My lady.” He bowed, still shivering.

“Your Highness , you mean. Can't you see the colors of the robe?” Liora hissed. The stable keeper and I immediately got aware of the robe I was wearing. It had the royal emblem of a wolf stepping on the moon all around it.

“Oh, you're the Human Queen.” He muttered, and I could swear I heard disgust in his voice.

“Are you disappointed?” I chuckled, hoping to see his reaction.

He shook his head gently, and then shrugged again.

“Mikah, Mikael…” I called, and they both turned to me. “Kindly get two good horses from the stable. Check the good ones on the other side too.”

“On it, your Highness.” They bowed, leaving.

“Why did you send them away?” Liora whispered.

“So the man would be comfortable. Of course, I'd choose my horse myself.” I whispered back.

“Erm… what is the Queen doing here?” A very tall man, with an equally long beard and a thick voice barked out of nowhere.

“Uhm… who are you?” I asked, squinting my eyes slowly as I saw the crest on his robe.

“I am Kilton Jonathan.” He stated, and my eyes widened.

“And what is the war commander of the Radical Faction doing in the royal stable?” I asked, steadying my heartbeat and wishing I didn't send Mikah and Mikael on a goose chase.

“I think he has ulterior motives.” Liora muttered shakily and so softly that I almost didn't hear her.

“This is not the royal stable.” He stated, folding his hands behind his back.

I turned to look at Liora. She rushed outside to look at the signpost of the stable we were in.

“Your Highness, I'm so sorry. I must have gotten us lost.” She apologized, walking back to me with her gaze fixed to the ground.

“Err… that's fine. A subject's stable is the King's stable regardless, right?” I said, raising a brow at Kilton.

Kilton only scoffed, shaking his head, “I heard the things you said about my faction. I don't think you're really welcome here.”

“C'mon, you guys should get over that already. I had to clap back at him.” I said, taking a quick pause. “He should be the one apologizing to me for vexing me.”

“No Radical apologizes to a human!” He snapped at me, and I was shaken. I almost gasped out of fear, but I maintained composure. I didn't break eye contact with him, staring into his brown eyeballs like I was trying to gaze deep into his soul.

“You really are no better than the last clown I dealt with.” I scoffed, shaking my head.

Kilton immediately came at me like he was going to hit me. Liora jumped in front of me to protect me. I braced for impact, knowing that I wasn't going to move an inch from where I stood.

“I strongly advise that you do not do whatever you've decided to do.” A very strong, familiar voice spoke. “Resist the urge to display your stupidity.”

Kilton froze on the spot, with no clear direction as to what he intended to do. I turned my face slightly to see Dacian coming towards us.

“Stay out of this.” Kilton hissed at Dacian.

“You realize that's the Queen, right?” Dacian asked, walking into the stable, just as Mikah and Mikael also emerged out of the inner stable at the same time.

“And what is your…”

“I will break your limbs and feed your remains to the dogs if you dare lay a finger on her.” Dacian instantly cut him off.

“Thank you Dacian, but I can fight this battle.” I insisted, smiling at him before turning to Kilton with a straight face.

“I will take those horses from your stable, I will ride them as I wish, and I'll have them returned to you when I'm prepared.” I simply said. “And the next time you speak to me in such manner, I will make you curse the day you were born.”

“Now, be a good boy and excuse me.” I commanded.

“You heard the Queen.” Mikael growled.

Kilton kept his eyes on me for a few seconds and then walked off.

“Your Highness, I'm so sorry for what just happened.” Dacian said, walking close to me.

“If you're going to be apologizing for everyone that tries to bully me, you'll spend every day begging.” I scoffed, brushing it off as I touched one of the horses they had brought.

“Well…”

“You want something, or you want to say something I might not like.”

“That depends.” Dacian mumbled, almost getting close to Liora who was also close to me when Mikael stood in his way. I held his arm, and he allowed him to walk past..

“What is it?” I asked, petting one of the horses.

“You're coming to Court.” He said. My face was blank, and his eyes searched my face for an answer. He was beginning to look disappointed until I smiled. He smiled back, nodding his head gently.

“When?!”

Kael's POV “Who gave anyone the permission to laugh so mannerlessly in my court?” I asked calmly, and the court got silent immediately. The absolute silence only made me angrier than I thought I'd be. I turned to look at Hyacinth. Unlike the previous time when my eyes betrayed me, and I couldn't easily take them off her, I easily looked past her this time to my head eunuch who was at the edge of the room. He was holding my sword, and I was fighting the intense desire to ask him for it. Hyacinth turned her head to look in the same direction that my head was faced, and she looked back at me almost immediately. “Now, what are the important matters of today?” I asked, taking a deep breath. “The country is at peace, your Highness, but some of our traders are battling rogues at the borders.” Lord Thomas stated, and I nodded. I was about to speak when Hyacinth leaned in towards me again. “Rogues are the wolves that aren't under your supreme leading, right?” She whispered. “They're mos

Hyacinth's POV “There is a full moon tomorrow.” Liora reminded me like she hadn't been saying it since my meeting with Dacian. He had somehow orchestrated a court meeting I could attend. I was hyped to finally enjoy the thrilling life of a political court.“Why's the life of a Queen in this palace so boring?” I asked, rolling over the bed to look at Liora who was peacefully knitting. “Erm… I really don't know. This isn't boring to me.” Liora said without looking up at me. “You're definitely tired of hearing me bicker about the same thing over and over again.” I mumbled, yawning loudly. “But , come to think of it, aren't I supposed to be in charge of planning balls, special royal dinners and the likes? The Queen has to do all these things.” “Well, I hate to say this, but you are human, and there are several things you wouldn't understand about the traditions of werewolves that are embedded in these parties.” I hissed, rolling my eyes as I sat on the bed, “There is no culture tha

Kael's POV The rest of the time I spent at the Aldric mansion was fruitless because I was angry for every passing moment that Hyacinth spent at the mansion. I tried listening in on her conversation with lady Charlotte, but it was fruitless as they were very far away from us. Lord Thomas wasn't really great company. He was always looking out for his interests in the dumbest ways possible. “Your Highness, lady Charlotte.” Her presence was announced, and I squinted my eyes since I didn't hear him announce Hyacinth's presence. Lady Charlotte walked in, and Hyacinth wasn't with her. “Your Highness, the Queen Regent has left already.” Lady Charlotte revealed. “I think she has a cold.” There was a slight increase in her heartbeat. I easily caught her in the lie, but I decided not to press further. Hyacinth would always look for ways to trample my authority. “Take your seat.” I commanded, and she obliged. The rest of the day went by as a blur. I was mostly concerned with several, unen

Hyacinth's POV “Hyacinth, why are you here?” Kael asked, taking a step closer to me, like he hadn't already taken up all the same between us. I swallowed hard, trying not to break character by showing fear. “Personal business, Kael.” I responded sassily. “Your personal business seems to be ruining whatever I have going on, isn't it?” He asked, and I shrugged. “You do have to get over obstacles when you're set to achieve something, yeah?” I tilted my head to the side , with a gentle shrug. Kael grabbed me by the neck, making my breath hitch for the second time. His hands were wrapped so that it wasn't so tight, but at the same time, it scared me. “The next time you're in my way, you might not like what I'd do to you.” Kael growled, pulling me up by my neck. I started choking a little, and he only stopped raising me when I slapped his hand. “Your Highness, can we come in?” Lady Charlotte's voice disrupted the deadly tension that was beginning to scare me. He dropped me

Hyacinth's POV “So, how has your life been without siblings to torment?” I asked, watching Kael who had his legs crossed, arms folded, and his eyes closed like he couldn't wait for time to pass so he'd just leave. We had finished eating about thirty minutes ago, but he still wasn't leaving. The table was no longer between us, so we were in close proximity, but I wasn't even bothered. “Answer me?” I added when he wasn't responding.“Why are you bothered about my childhood?” Kael asked without opening his eyes or moving an inch. “Because I deserve to know whatever has traumatized you this much.” I said, about to fold my hands when he suddenly sprung up on me. I gasped loudly, jerked fearfully, and was about to land on the floor until he caught me by my back and pulled me back up. “Scared much?” He scoffed, with his hand still on my back. It felt oddly familiar, and comforting. “No, thank you.” I hissed, shaking his hand off my body. “Why would you creep up on me like that?!” “I
