Ferrah Autumn is a lone magic user, intent on finding the man who destroyed her coven and, along with it, her brother, who was the answer to winning the war against shifters. She trained for years, working with some of the most powerful warlocks and witches to fulfill her lifelong goal of killing the Alpha King. But when he finds her in the woods, something unexplainable happens. Not only do they share the same prophecy, but they're also each other's fated mates.“There’s one condition,” I said softly. I leaned my back against the wall as I looked at him. I looked up to find him standing a few feet away from the bars. He was looking at me with hope in his eyes. My heart ached at the sight and I cursed at myself for it.“What?” he asked in confusion. I couldn’t believe that I was even considering this. I felt like a traitor. If my parents could see me now, what would they think? I was making a deal with the devil. The Alpha King's Prophecy is created by Claire Wilkins, an eGlobal Creative Publishing signed author.

Chapter 1 : Powerful Magic
Ferrah My heart was pounding in my chest as I ran and I couldn’t catch my breath. The exertion of running wasn’t the reason that I was struggling, I was in a panic. I had to find my family. I stopped running so suddenly that I nearly overbalanced and fell over. I looked down at the ground as a sob lodged in my throat. At my feet were two mounds of dirt. There were no signs of violence in the area and no signs or markers to tell me what these mounds were, but it didn’t matter. I knew that they concealed the bodies of my parents. Even though there was no grave for him, I knew that my brother was gone too. The entire coven was gone. They were wiped out in an instant and without warning. I never even got to say goodbye. I was too late. I felt like my knees were going to buckle, but before I could surrender to the grief that was welling up within me, a sound behind me froze me in place. There was no sign that anyone was there. I could normally sense the energy of a person when

Chapter 2 : The Alpha King
Onyx I was having difficulty sleeping again, so I had gotten up early and gone into my office to deal with some correspondence that I had been procrastinating on. Being the Alpha King was a job with many facets, but I doubt that anyone knew exactly how much paperwork it entailed. Sitting behind a desk all morning responding to letters and pouring over maps and reports from my men had never been my favorite thing to do, but it was necessary in order to run the pack. It was dull, but not my least favorite part of my job. There was plenty that was worse than spending a morning writing. The lives of every member of the pack depended on me. We had been steeped in war for all of my life. Half the pack couldn’t remember a time when we weren’t fighting the magical forces of our greatest enemies, and those who could remember life before the war didn’t like to talk about it. It was painful to think about how good life once was when you were sure that you would never see that kind of

Chapter 3 : Battle in the Woods
Ferrah Alpha King Onyx Hale was the source of the pull that had lured me through the early morning light into the deep forest. The feeling in my chest was bubbly and pleasant and I hated it. It was the same feeling I had when I was a young girl and the boy I liked smiled at me, but this was much more powerful. This was undeniable and no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t will it away. The Alpha King was standing there in front of me and I was frozen in one spot and staring at him like a starstruck fool. I wanted to lash out and attack him. This was the first time I had been face to face with him since he killed my family. Plus he was alone, there were no guards to get in my way. It was almost unheard of for him to travel without at least his beta by his side. This was the best chance to kill him that I was ever going to have. But I couldn’t move. My mind couldn’t accept what was happening right now and as I struggled within myself to understand what I was feeling, I was

Chapter 4 : The Key to a Prophecy
OnyxThe tall, slim woman with the dark eyes was staring at me, just like I was staring at her. I knew who she was the moment I saw her, although I didn’t know her name. I had seen her all those years ago when I had destroyed the Autumn coven. She saw me that night. Her face had stuck in my mind, although I didn’t know why. I had seen the horror in her wide eyes and paused in my rampage. Before I could react to her sudden appearance, she turned and fled. I had started to pursue her, but something stopped me. Instead, I watched her flee into the forest and I chose to let her go. She was young and afraid, but that had never stopped me before. I had thought of her often through the years and wondered what happened to her. Now, here she was, and she was my fated mate. She was only a girl when I had seen her then, but she was a woman now. She had grown not only in beauty, but in strength. I could feel the power of her magic crackling in the air as she stood there. She must have

Chapter 5 : The Shifter with the Power
FerrahI didn’t know how I got here. The last thing I remembered was being tied up by the Alpha King. He hadn’t spoken a word since securing the rope. He’d been pacing around the forest, staring at me for what seemed like an eternity. I remembered him digging through my bag and tossing my belongings around carelessly, but he hadn’t said a word to me. I had been unable to speak or move, so there wasn’t anything I could do besides watch him. I remembered all of that, but now I was somewhere else. I was no longer tied up. I was standing in the ruins of a village that was still smoldering. At my feet were two large mounds of dirt. I knew that they were my parents' graves. I had dug them myself, although that was a long time ago. At least, it felt like it was. The dirt looked fresh and when I looked down at myself, there was mud on my hands and my clothes. The air around me felt heavy and my mind was in a fog. I didn’t understand what was happening. The village was silent,

Chapter 6 : Freeing
OnyxI was confused, and it put me on edge. It wasn’t a feeling that I was used to. This witch confounded me at every turn. She had yet to react the way I would have predicted and now, she knew our prophecy. What could this possibly mean? Was she really serious when she said we have the same prophecy? It didn’t seem possible. I considered the possibility that she was messing with me, but it didn’t seem likely. She would gain nothing from that. I was sure that she knew angering me would end badly for her. Not that she really seemed to care if she pissed me off. The way she was glaring at me with such hatred brought back the uncomfortable feeling in my chest. “You could try,” I responded. “But you’re the one tied up, not me.”She scoffed. Even in such a helpless position, she was still defiant. “This isn’t a game,” I pressed. “I need to know about this prophecy of yours. It could be the key to ending this.” “No one can end this,” she said bitterly. I sighed. I underst

Chapter 7 : Home Sweet Home
FerrahI ran as fast as I could. My muscles were sore from the hours I spent tied in an awkward position and my legs were numb, but I pushed on anyway. I was clumsy, but I managed to stay upright and keep moving. I had a short head start, but that wouldn’t get me far against a shifter. If only I had the strength to master portal spells, but that magic was still beyond my skill level. I could hear the Alpha King following me through the thick underbrush and the sound fills my mind with terror. This was a nightmare. I was at a serious disadvantage. I couldn’t see well in the dark, I didn’t know this area, and I was panicked. I was sure that if I stopped, I'd be killed. All of the fear that had filled my nightmares for the past years felt like it was bubbling to the surface. I had to keep my emotions in check or I was going to make a mistake. I could tell by the sound of his footsteps that he was getting closer, but I didn't dare try to look. My heart felt like it was going

Chapter 8 : Dungeon Master
Onyx It was sheer dumb luck that we had ended up back in the pack village. At first, I was so disoriented by our battle and the long chase that I didn’t realize what direction she was running. When I did, I simply stayed close enough behind her that she didn’t stop running. I knew that if I got her into the village, I would be able to keep her there. She was strong, perhaps stronger than any witch I had ever faced in one on one combat. I doubted that she was even aware of the strength she held. If she was, she wouldn’t be so eager to run from the fight. It was good news for me, anyway. That bolt of magical energy hurt like hell. I held the witch's hands behind her back tightly as I walked her through the village and toward my home. My wolf was thrilled, but I kept it in check. I had no idea what I was going to do with her, if I was being honest. I knew, instinctively, that I couldn’t let her go. The village was dark and there was no one on the streets, although it wasn’t so l

Chapter 9 : We're in this Together
FerrahThe dungeons weren’t exactly what I expected. The building didn’t have a basement, so at least I wasn’t stuck in the dank, miserable hole. I was in a cage, though. It was a small cage with iron bars that had been built in the corner of a disused bedroom. It was an interior room with no windows and they hadn’t bothered to turn any lights on, so I was sitting in the dark with only the light that came in from the gap under the door to illuminate the space. There was a cot against one wall and it looked like there was a door across the room. It could be a closet or an ensuite bathroom, but it wasn’t accessible from behind the bars. Other than that, the room was empty. The floors were hard wood and felt cold against my feet. The whole room felt cold, but that might be because of the fear that was still coursing through me. I was a captive in enemy territory. The man that had taken my family from me had me at his mercy. I was so scared that I was starting to numb to the sensati

Chapter 10 : Deal with the Devil
Ferrah “Together, we will end the war and save our races,” he said firmly. The expression on his face was so earnest, it was almost pleading. I never would have believed that the Alpha King who haunted my nightmares could be capable of this kind of sincerity. Either he was an extremely skilled actor, or he really meant it. Together.Something about the way he said that word combined with the magnetic feeling in my chest felt so powerful. I wanted to agree immediately. Bringing an end to the war was all that I had wanted for so long. If he was right… I shook my head vehemently. No. No, no, no. I can’t trust him! He killed my parents and my brother. This had to be some kind of a trick. I didn’t know how or why, but he had to be manipulating me for some reason. “You’re lying!” I shouted. I jumped to my feet and my hands balled into fists at my side. I was shaking with anger, but without my magic, there was nothing I could do. He looked startled by my outburst, but recov
