Chapter 03

"Excuse me?" Elara tilted her head slightly to the side with a perfectly raised brow.

"You must be mistaken to think I wouldn't have brought the finest and most capable slaves to work for a beautiful damsel like you," Kaiden chuckled, covering the distance between him and Elara, and grabbed her hand slightly.

I scoffed inwardly, seeing the taint of red glow on her cheeks. "But none of them seem—"

"I will recommend two of the best slaves I have here with me," Kaiden offered, his dark green eyes twinkling at her.

"One would be fine, I have more slaves than I can count," Elara countered, fluttering her lashes at him and Kaiden flashed a smile at her.

Kaiden held Elara's hand as they walked, staring at we the slaves and I felt a knot twist in my stomach.

Why am I feeling this way just because they are holding hands?

Soon, Kaiden and Elara approached me and I looked away immediately, bowing my head. "Ahaha, I recommend her... she's the most obedient and gentle amongst the slaves I have here. I assure you that she would cause no trouble at all," Kaiden remarked, and I pressed my lips together, knowing the fact that my main motive was to cause 'trouble'.

"Mm, she caught my attention earlier, I would say," Elara admitted.

"What's your name, slave?" She demanded.

I looked up at her. "My name is Aki—" a heavy slap landed on my face unexpectedly, and I felt the pain shoot through my left cheek like a needle prickling a skin.

"I didn't say you could look at me, did I?" She snarled.

I took a quick glance at Kaiden, he kept a calm expression, though I could see his jaw clenching and his eyes blazing with annoyance.

I bowed my head, "I'm sorry ma'am, my name is Akira," I uttered and she scoffed.

"Akira, you will be my slave from henceforth," she said, and relief rushed through me.

'I could kill this bitch right now,' Tova growled with irritation.

'I want to do the same too, but we need to keep to the plan,' I said to Tova and she scoffed.

"I'm only picking her just because you told me to," Elara turned to Kaiden, a bright smile on her face as she stared at him. I could tell she was already smitten by Kaiden's looks. Well, who wouldn't?

Kaiden's height alone would cause many females to swoon around him. He's a proud six feet six inches male with a handsome face card, strong defined jaw, high cheekbones, straight nose, thick eyebrows, and long lashes that make him look like a god.

"I'm honored, Milady," Kaiden smirked, bowing his head slightly.

"You should come around and say hi to me," Elara invited, and I almost rolled my eyes at how desperate she was sounding.

"I definitely would."

The chains on my wrists and ankles were taken off, and I was led into the mansion.

"Wait here," one of the maids who had accompanied Elara outside said to me, and I nodded.

I looked around the hall when I heard hurried footsteps. "Where is that wench?" It was Elara and she sounded agitated.

I turned around to look at her and noticed she was coming my way furiously.

Oh, moon's sake...

Another dirty slap landed on my face and I gasped.

What did I do now?

"Now, I have a few questions I'm going to ask you, and you must answer accordingly." She eyed me and I swallowed, nodding my head.

"Why did the slave master recommend you of all the filthy slaves there?" She inquired.

This witch does have a lot of problems.

I lowered my head, I really hate this, I wish I could snap her neck in two and get on with this, but I can't. This was the life I've subjected myself to, and I must play my part.

"I-I do-don't..."

Her hands wrapped around my hair tightly, and I winced, "Speak clearly, I can't hear you," she spat in my face.

"I don't know!" I cried out, and she let go of me at once, pushing me to the floor and I knelt immediately, cowering like a coward I'm not and lowering my head.

"Tell me what's your relationship with the slave master?" She questioned.

"Not-nothing," my lips quivered.

"Look at me and answer me, you filth!" Elara roared, and I raised my head to stare at her, tears pooling in my eyes while I glared at her at the back of my mind.

"Nothing ma'am, I swear on my life. There's nothing going on between the slave master and I." I said truthfully, trying to clear the suspicion she was harboring.

She huffed. "Merinda, take her to her room and get her uniform," she said, walking out of the hall, and I sighed.

This won't be as easy as I thought.

The maid who brought me into the hall came to my aid and helped me off the floor. "Come on, you will get used to this," she said with a sad tone, and I gave a small smile.

My body ached as I lay on the small mattress, it was late at night and my eyes squeezed shut. I had warned Tova not to heal me for the main time so no one would grow suspicious of me.

My identity has to be a secret, no one in this pack must know I have Alpha blood running in my veins.

I groaned, stirring on the small bed... that witch made sure to use every ounce of blood I had on my first day. She will regret the day she finds out about the real me.

I heard a thud in my room and I opened my eyes immediately, my hand reaching out for my dagger when my eyes fell on Kaiden.

"Kaiden?" I whispered, and he moved closer to me.

"What are you doing here?" I questioned in a low voice as I sat up in my bed, staring at him. He was wearing a blue tunic and black trousers.

"Master," he called out tenderly, sitting on the bed and reaching out to me.

His hand touched my face, turning my head slightly as he stared at my left cheek, examining my slap prints, and I furrowed my brows.

His brows knotted, and his jaw twitched aggressively. "Master, I—"

"What?" I frowned at him and he sighed.

"Your cheek..."

"Don't start," I pushed him away from me.

"Seriously, Milady?" I glared at him, and he opened his mouth and closed them back almost immediately, his words betraying him and I hissed.

I stood up from the bed, pacing to and fro in the cabin of a room that I was given as a moment of silence fell between Kaiden and I.

"I was just trying to sound convincing, Master," Kaiden mumbled, and I smiled inwardly refusing to show it on my face.

"Mm," I stopped in my tracks, and he crawled over to where I was standing and went on his knees.

He grabbed my right hand, and he leaned his head closer while my heart beat fast. He pressed his soft lips against the back of my hand and I smiled staring down at him.

"You are my true Princess, Akira, no one can take that away from me," he looked up at me, his emerald eyes glowing softly at me and I ruffled his hair.

"I didn't say I was jealous," I taunted.

"It looked like you were," Kaiden cocked his brow, the corner of his lips curling into a smirk.

"I wasn't," I kicked him, rolling my eyes, and he let out a hearty laugh.

"Shhh!" I moved closer to him, covering his mouth with my palm.

"No one can know you are in here," I whispered, and he nodded.

Kaiden transformed into his wolf, Vuk, and I patted his head, my eyes were getting heavy and I yawned. Vuk allowed me to cuddle with him and he purred softly.

Getting into Elara's household was just one step ahead for me and what I need to do next is get the Alpha's attention.
