Kai’s pov

"Do you want me to stay?" I asked Moon.

"Don’t ask me that. You know the answer, but I also know you can’t," she said, pouting.

"We’ll meet up in a few days, but if you need me, I’m there. The Crescent Moon pack and the Crimson Moon pack aren’t that far from each other. You are what matters most to me, Moon, and what you’ve gone through wasn’t easy."

I felt the hurt, even though she was putting on a brave face. "I’m fine. I’m almost healed, and it’s not like I was ready to be a mother anyway."

I held her hands in mine; fuck, how I loved having my hand back. "I think you would make a great mother, now or in the future. Just don’t turn into me, okay? You have seen what pushing down your feelings does. Don’t become fucked up like me and take your anger out on others who don’t deserve it."

Moon smiled, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes. "You know we both deal with things the same way, but I won’t take my anger out on some poor soul."

"You can take it out on me in the bedroom,"
