“Is this because of this thing you alerted us that we have a visitor?!” The one with the cold eyes said while he turned his back to leave.

“Lucien…. Don't do that,” The one with the dark said quietly , the one that seemed cool. But there was a weight in it that made even the cold one stop.

It was then I realised that the hungry wolf was bearing Lucien.

He paused, then turned his back, facing us now. “I have a project to submit to Alpha,” He said, and just like that, he turned his back to leave.

“Alpha?” I whispered, the word tasting strange in my tongue. “Did he just say Alpha?”

But before any one could utter anything, he turned his back and left, his footsteps that were echoing before, disappeared in a few seconds.

“Isn’t the Alpha that gave us an assignment that is here with us,” the calm one said, his voice laced with amusement as he faced the other brother.

The second one who hasn't said a word all this while, smirked. Then, his eyes met with mine, and I noticed something devilish flashed in his eyes, it was somehow dangerous and teasing all at once.

“Alpha, I'd like to leave,” he said casually, his lips curving slightly with a weird smile, before he looked at me again. “Unless, of course, our guests needs entertainment.”

My chest tightened. My breath caught in my throat. It was then I knew I was in a bigger problem, none of the boys except one seemed welcoming. I knew my stay wouldn't be and never will be easy.

“Davas,” Damian’s voice came in, laced with authority. “You may leave.”

Davas smiled softly, his gaze still fixed on me as he walked past me. “Welcome to the estate of werewolves and machines,” he said, his voice trailing off as he disappeared around the corner.

I smirked, although I don't get what he meant by werewolves, but I knew by just looking at them, they all looked weird, and they looked like they could bite.

The calm one, Julius was the only one left, Damian and Faith(the robot). Julius' expression was softened a little and our gaze met. He looked more human than all of them, his energy was also different, it was peaceful, I thought.

“I’m sorry about them,” he said quietly. “Theyre….a little unpredictable.”

“Unpredictable?” I repeated, while forcing a smile on my face. “You mean scary.”

He burst into laughter, the sound reverberating in my ears. “You’ll get use to it…. If you stay long enough,”

Stay? The word sent a shiver down my spine. In this estate filled with strange things, the only reason I agreed to follow Damian was because I was thinking he knew something and he would helped me go back to my time.

“Julius…” Damian's voice cut through, “Show her to her apartment.” He ordered.

Julius nodded, I turned and followed him, but instead of where they came out from earlier, he followed another direction. He pressed a button on his hand and a creature appeared in the sky.

My chest tightened. It looks exactly like a dragon, but it was made of glass, shimmering as it landed in front of us.

“Meet Kelvin…”’Julius said. “Your assistant in this estate.”

“Welcome, Lyra.” I heard a mechanical voice come out from where the Kelvin was.

“Hop on me, so that I could drop you off at your mansion,” he added.

I hesitated at first, staring at the glass dragon as its wings were humming faintly blue.

“You seemed weird, Lyra,” Julius said, his voice cutting the silence. “Well…. Alpha said you need to rest,” he said and turned his back to leave.

Then, I knew I had no choice than to hop on Kelvin’s back. As I sat on him, I felt something in my body awake, but not quite sure.

Suddenly, it took off and in a jiffy it landed in front of an absolutely breathtaking building, quite similar to the main building, everything was made with glass—yet I couldn't see what was inside. Then, my gaze landed on an electric car parked beside the building.

"That's your car, Lyra.” Kelvin said quietly, as if he already knew the question I wanted to ask. “And your new home.”

Still in awe of what I was seeing, I dragged myself to the entrance of the house, before I could make any attempt to unlock the door.

“Welcome Lyra,” a mechanical tone came out from the door.

At that point, everything clearly became weird, the door knew my name and had been expecting me. How come? Everyone knew I was coming when I only picked a leaf on the floor when going home.

“Hopefully, my solution to going back is here,” I whispered.

As I entered the house, my body jerked, standing inside the room was Faith and Damian. I couldn't even process anything in the room.

“Apologies,” Faith said politely. “I am required to perform a standard environmental scan.”

I frowned. “A what?”

Before Damian could answer, a ray of light shot out from Faith’s chest, sweeping slowly across the room, and landed directly on me.

My heart skipped at that moment. “What are you doing?”

“Routine energy analysis,” Faith replied smoothly, but i noticed something about how he sounded, he sounded like he'd discovered something that didn't make sense. His eyes were blinked, and his gaze wasn't normal.

Damian’s expression shifted immediately. “Faith,” he called out.

The AI didn’t answer immediately. The light on me only grew brighter.

“Faith,” Damian repeated.

It was then, , Faith spoke, his voice slower, extremely difficult to hear him.

“Alert…” he said. “Miraen energy detected.”

My chest tightened. The words reverberated across the room, sending a shiver down my backbone.

“Miraen…” I whispered, the word unfamiliar on my lips.

*****Lyra******“I’m not in my right senses when I sign the paper…” I said, “now, that I’m.back to my senses…. I need to leave,” Instead of saying anything he proceeded to leave the computer room, without wasting time, I followed him abruptly. “I’m not from this time,” I repeated, my voice cracking. still at his back.“You need rest,” he said, not even looking back at me. But, by this time we had already entered a place which I thought was his office. The walls were plastered in dark gray, lined with some blinking blue veins. There was a huge digital map hovering above a circular table , showing tiny movements that I couldn’t understand. “No!!!” I said again, louder this time, “I know what I’m saying. I was on my way home, and then I picked something from the ground, and everything changed!”He paused, turning slightly toward me.“Miss. Lyra, you need to rest,”“What do you mean?”He moved closer to me until he was standing in front of me. His height took over mine. “Well, you lo

******Lyra********I turned my head to look where the voice came from, as my gaze landed, it fell on a 6-foot mesmerizing figure. I couldn't even look straight into his eyes… gosh… he was breathtaking. “I’m Damian Miles,” He repeated, his voice sounded like someone used to being obeyed, after he realised that I was deeply lost in thought. I blinked hard, realizing I’d just been staring. He extended his hand forward for a handshake, something about his hand quickly caught my gaze, his hand wasn't flesh, not skin, it was made of iron. And in my head I was like so it was a Robot that made me dumbfounded. “The new student, right?” He added, and quickly took his hand away when he realized I didn't shake his hand and it was taking a long time. His lips curved faintly, reflecting that he wasn't offended—just amused. “No!” I quickly added. “I’m not a new student, and I need to get out of this place,”I don't even know how I uttered those statements, but deep down I knew it was out of fru

  • The Alpha Timebound’s Mate    The Girl from Nowhere

****Lyra*****My mind opened wide. I sat up slowly, but to my astonishment, the bed floated up with me, lifting off the ground, hanging in the air. I felt it was a dream. I hit myself on my cheeks to confirm if I was dreaming or in reality, yet, I still opened my eyes to see that the walls around me weren't mine, the walls were silver paneled like glass. And standing a few steps away…were two mechanical objects exactly like human beings staring right at me. My chest tightened. “What’s happening?” I said, not knowing that the statement had slipped out of my mouth. “Strange human being detected,” “Activation sequence….completed,” One of them said, his/her voice buzzing underneath, and her/ his hand twisting unnaturally. It was then, I knew what I had got myself into, they were…. robots. My chest tightened, and different sci-fi movies that I had watched flashed into my head. I, Robot, Terminator. Even that creepy M3GAN one. And now, I was the girl stuck inside one of them. “Do t

  • The Alpha Timebound’s Mate    The Day the Sky Changed

****Lyra*****The street outside my pastry shop buzzed with people. Vendors were calling out prices from behind their colorful stalls, our counters were piled high with croissants, muffins, and pies. The aroma of sugar, butter filled everywhere.Inside , the afternoon sun streamed through the front glass, turning the shop warm and a little too bright. I stood up from the chair I was sitting in and walked to the counter where I arranged my pastries ( croissant, pies, tarts) in order to adjust them from the sun's rays.“Give me one croissant,” I heard a manly voice say.I turned to the direction of where the voice came from and my gaze landed on a man, probably in his late thirties. His eyes were impatient. “How many do you care for?” I inquired, sliding open the glass door of the display. The rich aroma of butter, and sugar wafted up, making me sweet and proud. “Just one.” He snapped, his voice laced with order. I gave him what he requested and swiped his card for payment. He too
