LOGINFL (AYLA) POV.
My heart was heavy as I walked to the dancing room where numerous other girls glided in seductive movement.
I hid behind the mass of my hair as I walked, shivering as I thought the nun had told me about my fate.
The nun behind me rang a bell, and they all kept quiet.
"No chattering in the dance room," she growled and shoved me towards them before walking away.
I ran mistakenly into a tall girl who stood before me, and she shoved me before I could even explain myself.
"Don't cross my path bitch", she snapped before walking back to her seat. I doubt I even ran into her.
As the nun left, all attention turned to me and a no to silent gossip arose and some of them even pointed at me.
"Isn't that the hunter's daughter?", a lady with blonde hair commented with a sly smirk playing on her lips.
"What a sad twist. She has become a prey as well", another girl replied her with a toothy grin.
"She looks like a wild beast with all that hair"
"I bet she is as ugly as one. That is probably why she hides behind the hair"
I walked slowly to the room and plopped down on a chair behind the girls, trying to block out their loud whispers.
"Hey, hunter girl. Why don't you call your papa to come save you from here", a girl beside me mocked shoving me. She was the one who had shoved me when I first entered.
"Her father has probably been hunted as well, Kate", another girl mocked.
"Aww. I think she is mute. She has not said a word since", someone said, and they all laughed.
I closed my eyes and wished I would just disappear from here and realise this was all a nightmare, but when I opened my eyes, I was still seated by my side at the room.
I wished my father would just appear to save me from this place.
I felt anger rise in me as they mentioned my mother. I bowed my head even more as I buried myself further behind my hair.
They were barely clothed. They all wore revealing attires that exposed the private parts of their bodies and they swayed to a sulty music playing in the background.
Just seeing them made me nauseous.
"Why are you sitting there? Get up and get dressed", a strict looking nun appeared from the shadows and commanded me.
I cringed at the thought of being dressed like these ladies but obeyed anyway.
I felt exposed as soon as I wore it and I just wanted to be disappear.
What the hell was this?
There was nothing left to the imagination with these dresses.
"On the contrary, the the dresses are better and more intense today," a girl commented, and they all concurred.
I cocked a brow.
"This? Better?'
"I wonder why," another girl said.
Kate rolled her eyes. "Well, I stand to be corrected, but it is rumoured that alpha Darius will be here to get a bride soon. Tomorrow, I think"
"You can't be serious," someone muttered in disbelief.
"I overheard the senior nun mention it under her breath," Kate said with a daring glare at the person who had challenged her. "Do I look like a liar?"
A brief silence permeated the air before gasps, and then a loud bout of gossip followed.
"The alpha. Oh goddess. I want to be the bride, "a girl said with a dreamy look in her eyes.
"The mad alpha is the one you want to get married to? You must be a sadist, Emma", another girl said nonchalantly, rolling her eyes.
"You don't know that he is mad," Emma, the lady who has spoken earlier, retorted in defence of him.
"I heard he has the most brutal ways of killing people," a girl commented. "It's not a secret, and almost everyone knows this."
Emma rolled her eyes. "He can't do that to his bride whom he loves."
A guttural laughter erupted from the girl who had challenged her. Lydia.
"You must be delusional to think he would just fall in love with you because you are his bride... If you are even picked to be his bride."
Emma scoffed and rolled her eyes, muttering curses at Lydia, who shrugged as she swayed to the music.
"I'm just grateful for this exercise. We don't get to do this every day. Not when we are attending to the men."
"I wish I was the bride," another girl said.
"I will be the bride," Kate said pompously, throwing her hair behind her shoulder in confidence, and some girls scoffed at her while some praised her.
Lydia laughed in mockery. "Dream on," she muttered under her breath.
"You got something to say to me, sister stick in the ass?"
Lydia raised her hands in mock surrender, and they all laughed.
I felt my stomach churn.
'Alphas come to pick brides from this godforsaken place?'
The thought of being picked made me want to throw up.
Tomorrow. I had to stay hidden the next day no matter what. It would be an even greater disaster to be picked by the alpha king.
With the circumstances of my father being a hunter, I would definitely be picked for the bride by those vile creatures that my father hated and hunted down all his life.
My father was an enemy of the wolves. If any of the wolves, especially an Alpha, were to know I was here, they would definitely buy me and use me for their own selfish and evil purpose.
I was distraught. I paced around while the other girls in the dance room kept talking about how wonderful it would be to be picked as the bride.
I can not be picked by him. My life would be ruined. Utterly doomed.
I felt my tears roll down my cheeks and onto the plate of the 'exotic' dance exercise, which I had suddenly felt nausea for.
Oh, goddess. Help me! Father, save me!!
'Of all of the known alphas, the mad alpha Darius would be the first!!'
AYLA’S POVThe night air felt cold and sharp on my skin, filled with the smell of blood and smoke drifting from the forest. I stood on a small balcony outside the Great Hall, watching the forest edge burn in the moonlight.Darius stood nearby, his posture rigid, every muscle coiled like a spring. The guards patrolled the perimeter, whispers of urgency passing between them.“They’re close,” he said, his voice low but steady. “Northern Watch reports they’re moving faster than expected.”I swallowed, feeling the truth sink in. These weren’t just stories. The danger was real, alive, and I was caught in it.“Will you… fight?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.Darius’ eyes found mine, intense and unreadable. “Do you think I let anyone threaten my lands without answering?” His gaze hardened. “Especially tonight.”DARIUS’ POVThe girl watches me like she can see past the surface, past the Alpha mask I wear. That makes her dangerous because of her mind and her curiosity. The Northern p
AYLA’S POVThe heavy doors of the Great Hall loomed over me, carved with snarling wolves and crimson sigils. My legs trembled beneath the layers of my gown, but I refused to let Darius see my fear, at least not fully. The hall was enormous, with a long polished table running down the center, flanked by high-backed chairs. Candles flickered along the walls, casting shadows that danced like predators waiting in the dark.“Sit,” a deep voice commanded from the head of the table. My eyes lifted, meeting Darius’ cold gaze. He lounged casually in his chair, yet every inch of him radiated danger. Even sitting, he was an Alpha.I lowered myself into the chair across from him, trying to steady my breathing. Every instinct screamed at me to flee, to disappear, but I had nowhere to go.Darius studied me like a predator examining prey. “You’re quiet,” he said, his tone flat but heavy with unspoken threat. “Do you always obey without a word?”“I don’t speak without reason,” I said, my voice shakin
AYLA'S POVSummoned by the superior Alpha as said by my maid, I had no choice but to obey and let them lead me to the hall in which he waited for me.The maids had come in earlier to inform me that the Alpha had called me in to have Dinner with him in the Great hall....I wondered where that was.Arriving at a huge wooden door, With a wolf head carving at the front, it was opened by the two door men at the entrance.....surprisingly it took 2 people to open the door, must be really heavy I thought.Inside of the hall lied a long table with chairs on each side and a particularly special chair made for the Ruler. There he was sitting on that Chair, with his uptight demeanour, his eyes narrowed at me piercing with a gaze as I walked down to where I was to be seated just beside him.My meal was already laid down on the table for me, but I still sat there not willing to eat.....before he spoke."You skipped ur meals today, why?" He asked. How should that concern you, I hate it here and how a
AYLA'S POV "Ayla! Ayla, darling. Get up now; we need to go!" my mother yelled at me softly, dragging me up from the floor where I sat playing with the wooden toys she had made for me.'But what of father? aren't we going to wait for him?' I asked as my eyes followed my mother while she walked around our cottage."Ayla, you need to listen now. Bad people are coming, and if we don't leave now, they'll get us", my mother said, holding my arms with a trembling voice.I didn't know who they were; I just knew they were bad, and my father told me I had to always listen to my mother. She packed a little Bag and led me down a flight of stairs through a door I never knew we had on our floor. There she took me into the forest, carried me and ran as fast as she could. She panted heavily while running; the cold air was creeping into her, weakening her with every pace she took. But she didn't stop, Mother was determined to take me away from the bad people....she ran so fast she didn't know when
DARIUS POV"They're bringing in the girls," Chase informed me as he walked to stand beside me.Soon, a line of girls in a straightened line began to fill the hall, all wearing seductive dresses and flashing smiles at me.. "Attractive," I thought, but none looked peculiar enough to look like my bride. They danced for a while, all flashing their breasts and swaying their hips to draw my attention. I alerted Chase in a dry tone to end the dancing as I was bored with it.....The courtly musicians soon ended the music, and the girls assembled once again in straight lines opposite each other on each side of the wall."The girls have each danced to display themselves and are waiting for you to make your choice, Alpha", the senior nun said in a bow.I stood up and walked down the hall, looking amongst the girls. None seemed to fit my taste, but a few steps ahead, I turned back at a girl whom I noticed I had not really seen dancing at the hall. I walked back to take a look at the girl with h
DARIUS POVIt was very early the next morning when I awoke and got ready to go to the Church Downtown. I brushed my hair again and buttoned my shirt.A knock sounded on my door."Come in," I snarled, and in walked one of the maids with a tray containing my daily breakfast."Your meal, alpha," she drawled with a hint of lust in her voice.'I could use the release right now,' I thought."Put it on the table," I commanded, and she sashayed to the table."Will that be all you need, sir?"I felt the man in my rise, and I suddenly wanted to hurt someone.Thankfully, one presented itself before me.Fannie.The maid who knew how to please me as much as she could."Take off your clothes," I snapped. She gave me a small smile and began to strip slowly."I don't have all day", I snapped at her, and on sensing the edge in my voice, she hurried out of her clothes, and I pulled down my pants."On your knees," I commanded, and she rushed to her knees and took me in her hands."You know what to do"S
