A HUMAN SCENT

The following day.

Marcus examined the still unconscious and pale woman on the bed, he had a crazy urge to touch her, to hold her, to speak to her, to order her to wake up and get out of his pack house but as much as he wanted all this, he could feel an undenying pain forming inside him due to her frail figure. None of this would have happened if he had arrived earlier. But who was he to hold himself responsible? He hadn't asked for a weak mate. He hadn't specifically requested for a human to become his mate; it was simply fate. He'd do the right thing and would finally get rid of her.

The first thing that could come to his mind was talking to her and that's what he did.

" Why haven't you woken up yet? Huh? " He asked, just staring at her.

As expected there was no reply but he continued.

" I had to take a risk by bringing you to my pack house. A weak human. " She was too deep in her sleep to actually hear the frustration in his voice.
