18) The Decision

Eva's POV

"D-do we have to buy all this?" I asked, reluctant to be a freeloader.

I admit that I'm in need of decent clothes and I need to buy a dress for tomorrow too... But that doesn't mean that someone had to draw out a whole bank to do so.

"Of course we do." Dhalia replied, adding another bag to the dozen or so bags in Anubis's hands.

"But I... don't have money..."

"But I do." As soon as those words left my mouth, Anubis deadpanned, not leaving any room for me to argue.

"Fine. You still owe me sixteen years of spoiling anyway..." I gave in, muttering the last part under my breath.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing." Avoiding my elder brother's accusing glare, I said hurriedly before Dhalia could drag me into another shop.

It was really tiresome to go through a shopping trip with Dhalia but at the end of the day, she still managed to buy me everything I needed. And some things... Well... I didn't even know for myself that I needed those.
