19) Promises

Eva's POV

Even though I already made up my mind, I failed to forget my mother's constant warnings about a certain alpha. But still... I believed what I'm doing is right and I didn't care how selfish that would make me in others' eyes.

Yet, this ache...

"Eva... you alright?" Dhalia's concerned voice rang out and I blinked few times, trying to gather my focus on her.

"I- yeah. I'm fine." I lied, not wanting to share my burdens with her.

"You look paler. I know it's your normal color but today... it looks paler than normal. You sure you are okay? Maybe you should rest more. It's just yesterday you woke up from a coma. So..." She ranted on, her hands nervously fidgeting with my hair.

"I'm fine. I promise. I'm just nervous. That's all." I reassured her but she didn't seem like she's convinced.

But after some pondering, she just gave in and started applying her 'glamour' on me. And I should admit, her 'glamour' in styling is on a completely another level.
