Sabrina’s POV

“You’ll run from here to that large tree over then and return in ten seconds.” Zenith declared and my eyes bulged as I stared at him in disbelief.

For a wolf it might have been possible but even at that they would have to be running at full speed.

What the hell made Zenith think I would be able to do that?

“Ready?” He asked.

“No! There is no way I would be able to run that distance under that time.” I pointed out but Zenith merely shrugged.

“Do you need a motivating factor?” He q

Sabrina’s POV “You aren’t half as bad as you claimed.” Mark pointed out and my chest rose and fell heavily as I tried to catch my breath.Sweat trickled down my back and I stole a glimpse at Mark, noting that he hadn’t even broken a sweat.“You were going easy on me.” I pointed out and Mark couldn’t meet my eyes.“You don’t have to, you know. If you do, I'll probably never get any better.” I explained and he nodded.“I didn’t want to hurt you.” He responded.“And that’s sweet but trust me, I can handle myself.” I assured him.“Which is why you shouldn’t spar with emotion.” A voice called out behind me and I stilled.Mark’s gaze darted behind me and I closed my eyes for a second as Zenith’s familiar cologne wafted through the air.I turned to him, only to find his heated gaze already on me.Heat crawled up my cheeks as I recalled what had transpired last night. What had Zenith done with the box and the note?“I assumed you weren’t coming for training.” I muttered as I looked away, un

Zenith’s POV I bounced on my feet as I circled the punching bag and I tightened my hands into fists.I imagined the punching bag to be an opponent and I attacked as I would have my enemy.Sweat trickled down my back but I ignored it as I kept going, trying to release pent up anger and frustration.A growl left my lips as an image of Sabrina smiling at Mark popped into my mind and I punched the bag with all my might. Why did I care who she spoke to or who she smiled at?She could smile at anyone she wanted, it had nothing to do with me.Alder paced around within me but I ignored him. He had been restless since yesterday and not even the run could make him feel better.‘How could I be at peace when there is a man trying to claim our mate?’ Alder gritted out.“She is not our mate. Aria is our mate. Sabrina is free to be with whoever she wants.” I reminded him but try as I might to get the message through to him, he refused to accept it.‘If she isn’t our mate then why do we still feel

Sabrina’s POV I tossed and turned on my bed long after Zenith had left but try as I might, I simply couldn’t shut down my thoughts.I huffed as I sat up, giving up on sleep and I made my way out of my room.My gaze darted to Zenith’s door but I instantly forced myself to look away.I made my way to the kitchen but as I pulled open the door, my eyes landed on Aria and I stilled.“Luna.” I greeted stiffly and made to leave but she called out to me.“You can stay Sabrina. You don’t have to look so terrified.” Aria chuckled and I paused.I debated within myself, wondering if I should stay or leave and my eyes strayed to Aria.“Don’t worry, I won’t try matchmaking you.” Aria added and I pressed my lips together but made my way into the room.“So that was what you were doing.” I muttered and Aria took a sip of her tea.“I think I was a bit too obvious wasn’t I?” Aria commented.“Well you certainly weren’t subtle.” I retorted as I made my way to the fridge and pulled out a carton of milk w

Sabrina's POV I stared at my reflection in the mirror as I pondered on all that had happened at dinner.Mark's offer had left me bewildered by its suddenness and then there was Aria…Did she really think I would agree to be Mark's mate? Was she simply trying to pair me up with him because she feared I would be a threat to her and Zenith?A pang shot through me at the thought of Zenith. I closed my eyes and willed my mind not to replay the events of this morning but try as I might, they were simply stuck at the forefront of my head. The way Zenith had looked at me, the intensity of his stare, how he held me…My eyes darted to the box in front of me and I hesitated for only a moment before I pulled it open.I turned over the box and all its contents fell onto the table. My heart raced as I picked up the first note and went through its contents.I lost track of time as I read the notes, one after the other and I felt old memories surface through my mind like a bandaid ripped open.I coul

Sabrina’s POV My eyes met Zenith’s and my lips parted at the heat I found in his gaze for a second before it was gone and he put on a blank expression. What the hell was that fire in his eyes?If I didn’t know any better I would have assumed he was…jealous.“Zenith?” Aria called out to Zenith.“I’m sorry, my wolf has been restless of late and he snapped at the mention of a walk. I should take him on a run soon.” Zenith explained smoothly and Aria nodded in understanding.“Actually, that’s a good idea. Why don’t we all go on a run?” Jasmine suggested and my heart dropped.“That’s actually a great idea. I can’t remember the last time I let my wolf out as well.” Aria announced and Zenith’s gaze strayed to me but I instantly looked away.He was the only one among our company who knew I didn’t have a wolf.“I’ll go get the chess board for when you get back.” I declared, trying to save myself from the inevitable embarrassment.“Actually, you could join us Sabrina.” Aria informed me and emb

Sabrina’s POV The first thing I noted was the distinct smell of dust which attacked my nostrils the second I stepped into the storage room.I flipped the switch on and my eyes trailed along the items which were scattered across the room.Where would I even begin to search?I let out a sigh as I looked around the room and I slowly walked deeper into the storage room.I lost track of time as I searched different corners of the room and just when I was about to give up, my eyes landed on a box which was hiding behind a mat.I pushed the mat away and dragged the box forward.I pulled open the box and I let out a relieved sigh as my eyes landed on the pack of chess.I pulled the chess box and just as I was about to close the box, a smaller box caught my eye.I picked up the box and my brows furrowed as the box seemed familiar but I couldn’t place where I had seen it.I pulled open the box and it was filled with notes.A gasp left my lips as I suddenly recalled where I had seen the box.
