I cleared my throat, because the last thing I wanted was to be his partner so what better way to get out of it by pretending not to have heard him? I casually look around the class, my gaze resting on the girl sitting a few seats away from me. I stood up to approach her when firm fingers crawled around my wrist, stopping me from leaving.

As if knowing my intention and without even looking at me, he jerked me down to my seat. “I wasn’t asking.” He stated, letting go off my wrist while glaring at me.

“I don’t want to be your partner.” I blurted out, meeting his glare with one of my own. “This project will be covering half of my semester’s grades, I want someone who will put as much effort as it takes.”

His lips stretched into a smirk that had me staring at him, feeling hot and flustered by his presence, I squirmed in my seat. “Too bad, what you think doesn’t matter Jackson.”
