Chapter 27 - Liam's POV

Lately, everything felt like a blur of duties and decisions. I’d been so busy I could barely remember the last time I’d had a proper conversation with Maya, let alone spent real time with her. Even my hockey gear was gathering dust in the corner of my room.

I missed the rush, the laughter with the guys,but this was the price I had to pay. I wasn’t that cowardly Alpha’s son anymore,I didn't care what anyone thought anymore. I had responsibilities now.

Every day was another round of meetings with the elders, arguing over the same thing,Lia’s mother and the ridiculous promise Lia still refused to release.

One of the elders, a stern man named Elder Gray, slammed his hand on the table earlier that morning. “This matter must be resolved soon, Alpha Liam. The pack is growing restless.”

I exhaled slowly, trying not to lose my temper. “You think I don’t know that? I’ve sent my men to monitor Lia’s movements and her mother’s influence. But she’s clever—too clever for her own good.”
