Amelia
The grass in the school field ruffled over my bare feet like an eager puppy trying to get its owner's affection. I tug my feet further into the green grass while walking to get home. Hands clasped over my books, and a sinister smile stuck over my lips. I believed it was all the signs I needed to know that the convergence would go in my favor. The members of my pack talked about these signs, saying it only happens when something deep inside of you is being answered, and I couldn't be happier knowing that the moon goodness had heard me and probably answered me. The convergence was an annual gathering here in the Crescent pack where young boys and girls from different packs came to find their mates. This year, I was going alone because my stepsister Sane, an arranged mate of the Alpha of Star moon pack, was going to have her mating ceremony the next day. I giggled at the sweet thoughts of my boyfriend, Ryan, who had given me a word that he was going to mark me at the convergence, but my heart had leaped into my mouth when I bursted into a crowd of young wolves my age. There should be about fifteen of them or there about, clustering not so far from the school gate. My eyes flashed into darkness, as I heard sounds of their murmurs which alerted me that I was being watched. Of course I should be. I was that poor prey everyone picked at. I guarded my books properly, preparing to take on my heels because I could tell what was about to happen, but before I could make a move, a dark wolf bursted out of the crowd, three more joined it immediately, all guarding me. My breaths shut down, while I take involuntary steps backwards. The four wolves surrounded me as if I had stolen something from them. Sane, their leader leaned over me. I hadn't seen her earlier. She snarled, her legs kicking on me, scattering my books to the floor. "Do you think you can play your stupid games with my best friend's boyfriend and go Scot free?" Her hands landed on my cheeks and I was almost going blind. She tossed her blonde hair and giggled at the confusion that had arisen in my face. It was something she loved seeing. Sane was my stepsister, but that didn't stop her from recruiting people to bully me at every given opportunity. "I don't know what you're talking about." I scowled, trying to pretend not to remember that Andrew had made passes at me at pack's arena last night. I had sneaked out of the house to take a glimpse of the dancing preparations for the convergence, and just like always was approached by one of the guys, Andew. My charming beauty and curves never failed to announce my presence and this was something I hated most about myself. Everyone believes I'm gorgeous, but I'd give anything to be as lean as a stick just to avoid the attention I get. "You're going to pretend you didn't hear us, mute?" Lori, Andrew's girlfriend, stood closer, folding her hands into what looked like a rag. "It's not what you think, swine!" I howled back, something I wished I never did. "Oh you're talking back to us?" Andrew stepped out of the bigger crowd, his gaze highly deadly and my breath caught in an alarm. Was it not the same Andrew that had begged me tirelessly to be his girlfriend last night?" He tossed his big jacket on me, " catch." He commanded as he watched it fly over my face. There was a loud laughter from the crowd as everyone seemed to be enjoying what was going on. I didn't know who had pulled me again, but a loud slap had followed before I was tugged to another person. "You all will pay for this!" I cried. "Why don't you fight for yourself, Miss Perfect?" Lori sneered before pulling the jacket off my face. I had landed to the floor with the last kick, my books and bags scattered over me. And before I could get hold of myself, I was left alone to nurse my wounds. The ladies never liked me, I was a threat to their beauty and that was understandable, but why the guys? They literally find a way to beat me up each time I turn down their advances. I was now left alone and all that cared to happen was the tears that poured down my cheek. "I'm fine Laura, " I howled at my wolf who wanted to feel pity for me. It was of no use. I had learnt to stop feeling pity for myself. This wasn't the first time I was getting humiliated. It took me just a few seconds to get over what had happened. I was going to get claimed anyway. That was enough consolation. The thoughts of my boyfriend were enough to sweep me back in an elated mood. A wide smile spread across my lips and quickly, I got on my feet, heading home. I was going to get dressed and sneak out immediately. My stepmother should never see me, else she would find one of her evil ways to prevent me from going. My father didn't care much. He already gave his word. "Get mated tonight or be sold." Getting rid of me was all that mattered to him, and that was my punishment for being birthed by a human mother. I was a weak omega with human blood, and it was considered horror in our pack. My father was an elder and hates me so much for being a product of his mistake. I got to the venue and suddenly I became nervous. This will be my first time coming to the convergence as I had just turned twenty one and have come of age. As I walked into the crowd, I had another nauseating feeling that everyone was watching me. I swallowed uneasily, the prickling awareness causing goosebumps all over me. "No...no it's all in my head." I stated, then looked around to search for Ryan, and realized that everyone was indeed watching me. I froze at the spot. The smirk in their faces, and the mocking chuckles caused my head to spin and I wished for the ground to open and swallow me. "I knew you would fall for it!" Sane snapped, and began to walk towards me. She wasn't supposed to be here, but I don't know how she managed to be. My legs took a few steps backwards, before it finally froze. "You were so desperate to be mated, that you couldn't tell it was a trap all these while." She sounded, displaying a mocking expression. "No, it can't be, where is Ryan, we-we planned on -" My eyes followed Sane's hands towards where Ryan was standing, causing me to witness the very disaster I was scared of the most. He was standing beside another girl, their hands wrapping around each other in an intimate way. "It has been planned all along?" I scowled, tears gushing off my amber-brown eyes. My pulse flamed up with pain and rage. All these while, it has been Sane's plans all along. "Do you even use your senses? What makes you think I'll mate a weak omega like you?" Ryan's voice came, crashing the remaining self esteem I had left, while the rest of the crowd laughed uncontrollably. "I reject you, Amelia Lockwood." He groaned. I watched my whole world crumble before me. My chest tightened hard and the red burning in my wrist sent me excruciating pain. I have the burning wrist. It was a curse as a result of my half human nature. It was one of the main reasons I wanted to mate badly, because I heard when a half human mates a full wolf, the full wolf absorbs human nature and the curse is broken, at least that was what the rumor said. "I accept your rejection, Ryan Leonard." I whimpered. My chest was heavy and heavy downpour flooded from my eyes. Immediately, I turned to the exit. I was about to take to my heels when a set of perfectly built men blocked my way. "I'm helping your father sell you off immediately." Ryan said evilly. "How about we save the old man the stress, don't you think so?" He glanced at Sane and all I saw was the evil smirk on her face, and her head nodding emphatically. "No, you can't, you can't do this to me." I struggled to break off the men's grip but their chains had caught my hands and my legs. Ryan being Alpha Leo's son and the next heir of Crescent pack, he had the power to do whatever he wanted. "Take her away, far away from the Crescent pack." His voice commanded. His eyes were evilly dark and his voice was a groan.Damian"What's in there?"she asked, her hands shoving into the envelope.I leaned closer, my gaze cutting through. "It's the sad report of the starmoon pack. That throne snatcher family couldn't even run the palace's company. It's in depth as we speak."I drew in a sharp air."I believe it's time we went back to the palace and take back what rightly belongs to us.""I was going to say that to you."She cuts in."I have to go back for my jewelry. That's the only memory of my mother I have."She said, determination to return to the palace filling her. This caused joy to well up inside me.Gradually, everything was coming in order and that made me so happy."We're going to penetrate the palace company, the entire starmoon business space like we planned. There's no turning back now."I said to her and she nodded.Amelia's quest for revenge for all Oliver and Sane put her through made it easier for me to manipulate her. We'd planned to take over the entire Starmoon business space, be the
OliverLights shone on the palace of the starmoon pack. It was 5:30am in the morning when my eyes gradually fluttered open.Having had a very long dayYesterday, I decided to get a good rest.My hands ran through the bed, surprised not to feel any presence. I quickly got on my heels, then made it out of the room. That was making it the third time in a week, Sane wasn't on the bed each time I woke up.I quickly dressed in a red robe, before heading out of the room.A familiar scent fell on my nose in the corridor. It was a heavy scent of Sane's perfume. The one she wore while going out during the day.I followed the scent, and there she was, in the bathroom of one of the rooms. It seemed like she was taking her bath. I didn't want her to know I was awake so I decided to peep.I saw through the slightly opened door that her underwear was on the floor, while she washed her under. The sight of it made my heart skip.It could only mean one thing, which my mind was begging not to be true.
"Wooof..." I screamed as I released the smoke I'd gathered, watching them disappear into thin air.I lifted my face up to the sky, then gathering the determination that I needed, I formed my hands into a cup, like I was going to scoop with it.My eyes charged at the sky. It was still the early hours in the morning, the moon had gone into the clouds, calling it a night, but it didn't matter. The reason is because I knew the moon goddess was with me, whether there was moon in the sky or no moon."That's a large catch."Leticia said in excitement. Her face wrapped up in a smile as she watched me gather as much energy as I could, then again allowing it to escape the atmosphere. "I'm proud of you Amelia." Leticia said as she approached me.Her gray eyes were all wide in admiration. No doubt it was screaming the word 'proud'. "You're set out for whatever you want to use your powers for. War, recovery, build, destroy? Name it. You have the backing of the moon goddess."Her palm touched my
Amelia Five years later."One more round and you win."Lily said, her chest breathing heavily. She moved to her bags on the floor and pulled out a bottle of water, gulping on it as I was already doing mine while sweats dripped down our skin."Beat me if you can." She said,I chuckled, "you know I will win. I learnt from the best." I replied."That's why you have to prove yourself. Show me all you've got."She boasted, making a bulge in her biceps, and we both laughed. My best friend, Lily, never believed that I could beat her in the game of table tennis, and I was about to prove her wrong. We both picked up our bat, then matched back to the board. Eyes fighting the invisible battle even before our bat touched the tennis. We were both dressed in our sports wear. Shorts and a T-shirt.Hands wrapped in gloves.Lily and I have been best friends for the past four years. Looking back, I was grateful that our path crossed. She had been a sister I never had.We met in business school I enro
The cold air brushed through my face. The sound of a busy road was heard from a distant city. Men and women walked past swiftly. Each looking like they had something important to do.Of course they did, because nobody would get into the busting city that early without having where to go.My hands clasped tightly on Damian's hands as he pulled me further into the city.Soon we arrived at the train station. He led me inside calmly like I was such a child he'd sworn to protect. I cleared my throat, hoping to finally say something. "Can I talk now?"I whispered, hesitantly. He'd chuckled, "of course, we've left the starmoon pack." He said, his voice was barely a whisper. His eyes were still tense. More like something heavy was still laid inside."Why are you doing this?" I turned to face him after we boarded the train."Why are you helping me?" His gaze ran through me for a while like I was a script he was trying to memorize. Warmth flowed from his eyes as much as he could offer. Cock
Everything that followed happened so fast.I found my hands bound immediately. The guards had brushed past my shoulders, their cold palms descending on my skin before I could say jack. Piercing eyes were on me, coupled with tension that grew in the atmosphere. The air was so thick that I feared it would cut my breath. Oliver's gaze was deadly. He'd stared at me, attempting to devour me with those eyes before he turned to face his father.By then two people had walked in, with a stretcher to wheel the great Xavier. And then I was taken out.I found myself in a cold dark room.It didn't look like the room had seen air for the past decade. Horrible stench settled on my nose, making it difficult to breathe properly. I buried my face in my hands as the thoughts of everything ran on my head.Someone obviously set me up. And it was not looking good. The diviners were there, together with the cabinet members. It wasn't looking good in any way. I had never seen such a stone in my entire
