Chapter 4

I woke up and stifled a yawn. I heard a groan next to me and turned to see Mason stirring from his sleep. We still hadn't finished unpacking, so we were sharing a mattress on the floor. "Good morning starshine the earth says hello" I quoted to him. He gave me a look, Mason wasn't a morning person.

"I hate you" he grumbled and I chuckled.

"Well I was going to make you pancakes for breakfast, but now ... " I trailed off and his eyes shot open.

"Love you" he said cuddling up to me.

"Uh huh" I rolled my eyes at him before I got up. I changed into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, I wasn't exactly the type of person to dress up. I whipped you some pancaked before physically kicking Mason off the mattress. He swore at me for a continuous two minutes before he saw the breakfast and shut up.

"You know there were pack wolves stalking our apartment last night don't you?" Mason asked between mouthfuls. "Your stupid Alpha boyfriend had them watching you, as if I can't look after you just fine by myself" he snarled and I sighed at him but didn't comment.

The wolves that Brody had sent to watch over me tried to be discreet about watching over me, but being on the run for so long I had learnt something that pack wolves hadn't. Subtly. I noticed them watching over us almost instantly. When you spend almost your whole life watching over your shoulder you learn to notice the little things.

A knock came on the door just after Mason and I had cleared away the plates. My wolf came to bay so I knew It was my mate. I opened the front door to see Brody smiling at me, he instantly pulled me into his arms. I nuzzled into his chest.

"Come on love birds we're going to be late" Mason moaned walking past us and out of the apartment. Brody took my hand and we walked out the apartment building together.

"Did you sleep well?" Brody asked me and I nodded and we got Into his car.

"Just FYI" Mason snapped when we drove to the school, "you don't need to send your lankys to watch over Alli, I'm perfectly capable. I've kept her alive for the past seventeen years".

"I think I helped to keep Alli alive too" I piped in, Mason rolled his eyes at me. Brody just smirked, I wasn't sure If It was at Mason or me.

"She is a Luna now, she needs protection" Brody said calmly, "just like today all the wolves who are enrolled at your school will be watching over her and reporting back to me every hour" he stated. The idea of all those wolves observing me unnerved me slightly, being a rouge for so long made me used to holding back and blending into the background. But this meant that I would be on full display.

We pulled up at school and Brody got out and helped me out of the car, although I didn't need his help. "I'll be here to pick you up at the end of the day" he informed me, slipping his hand under my chin and forcing my eyes up to meet his. "If anyone gives you a hard time, or if any male so much as looks at you, you tell me, Okay?"

I nodded at him, "Okay" I lied. I wasn't a tell-tale, if someone gave me a hard time I'm sure I could deal with them. Brody smiled at me before he pecked my cheek and climbed back into the car.

Mason and I walked into the school together, I sighed as I noticed a few wolves glance my way. "Not comfortable under the Alpha's protection?" Mason smirked, I hit him lightly in annoyance.

"I'll meet you for lunch" I told my brother before I went off to my locker. As I pulled my books out of my locker, I heard someone clear their throat behind me. I turned around to see a tall brunette she-wolf. She was tall and stunning. Her face was perfectly made up and she wore a very short and very tight dress that I would never be able to pull off.

"Um ... hi?" I said, confused at what she wanted. She narrowed her eyes at me in hatred and my wolf began to get rowdy at her disrespect.

"You think you're so amazing don't you?" she asked. I gave her a look of confusion. "You and your rouge brother, coming in here and just have the Alpha falling over himself trying to make his little mate happy" she snarled.

"Excuse me?" I blurted rudely.

"Brody is mine, do you understand?" she growled back at me so I was against the locker. I knew I could take her, but I was just waiting to show her who was in charge. "He is blinded at the moment by the mate bond, but when he finally sees sense he'll see what you're like".

"And what is that exactly?" I asked through clenched teeth. There were people in the corridor, humans, so I had to control myself so as not to shift in anger and show this crazy bitch who was stronger.

She ignored my question and continued in her slander. "You're not even pretty, I could understand if you were pretty, but you're not. Not even slightly attractive. You are nothing but a filthy rouge" she hissed at me.

"Okay listen up little-miss-not-so-perfect" I snapped moving closer and pushing my face into hers. "I don't know who are you, or whatever the fuck you want, but if you ever cross me again you can see why so many people fear rouges" I threatened her.

"Luna is everything okay here?" a male voice said to my left. I glanced over to see an attractive blonde haired wolf, I recognised him from my gym class the day before.

"Fine" I smiled at him before I turned back to the brunette, "I was just clearing something up with ... sorry I didn't catch your name" I said sweetly, my face still close to the girl.

"It's Jessica." She snapped.

"Well I guess I'll see you around Jess" I smiled sickly at her.

"It's Jessica, not Jess" he glowered at me. "Yes, see you around Luna" she smirked before spinning on her heeled shoes and storming away.

"What did she want?" the boy asked, still watching me with worry.

I shrugged, "nothing much". I began walking to my lesson, the boy followed. "You don't have to walk me to my lesson you know" I said after a few minutes of walking in silence.

"I actually kind of do Luna" he cringed, "I'm the only mated male in the school, so the Alpha made me your main guard" he smiled at me.

"Oh you can call me Alli by the way" I smiled at him and he nodded. "What's your name?" I asked him.

"It's Lennon" he said, "I'm mated to the Beta" he said and I gave him a confused look. "Yeah I usually get that look, my mate Is another guy. Believe me it came as a shock to me too" he chuckled and I smiled at him. Lennon seemed really down to earth, I liked him almost instantly.

We reached my classroom and we came to a stop. "We actually have the same Theatre Studies class, but you didn't turn up yesterday so you wouldn't know that ... but anyway I'll see you after this lesson and I'll walk you to your next one" he smiled at me.

"See you later Lennon" I said before I walked Into my English Literature class and settled into my seat. I was glad for the lack of wolves in this lesson, I didn't like all the attention I was getting from the Vega Moon pack wolves.

When lunch came around both Mason and Lennon were waiting for me outside my creative writing classroom. "Hey" I greeted them.

They mumbled a small "hi" in unison. Mason glared at Lennon for speaking at the same time as him, I could tell he didn't like the idea of someone else watching over me as well as him.

"Come on let's go to the cafeteria" Lennon said, pulling me after him.

"No, let's eat outside like yesterday," Mason pleaded with me desperately, grabbing my arm. As his twin I understood Mason better than anyone else, and in that moment I could see the fear in his eyes. He was scared he was losing me to the pack wolves. It had always been just me and him, but now he was fighting for my attention. That didn't sit well with him. I had to comfort him.

"Okay let's sit outside" I smiled at him and he breathed a small sigh of relief. "Lennon you coming?" I asked. Mason's jaw set in annoyance but he didn't complain as Lennon nodded his head and followed Mason and I outside.

We sat down at one of the benches and began to eat our lunch. Unlike Mason and I, Lennon hadn't packed a lunch. I told him he should go buy something, he told me he was fine and that he would eat later. I didn't argue with him, I knew it would be useless. He was determined to stay with me all the time I wasn't in class.

'You could never lose me you know Mase' I told my brother through our mental connection.

He sighed out loud before he replied to my mental message; 'we'll see when you get closer to your mate'.
