Chaos pt2

It was utter chaos. The pack members were standing now, torn between running for their life and watching to see the drama that was unfolding, while their beloved Alpha was looking like he was batshit crazy, calling for his mate that had long since died.

I stood, between an Alpha who looked like he was ready to tear Ethan’s limps off for even touching me and then Ethan who was breathing heavily behind me like he was going to peel of my flesh with how hard he was holding.

“What the fuck is going on!!!” Esme screeched, making Ethan’s hold on me to loosen which I took to my advantage. I pulled out my hand from him before he would actually pull out my hand before I put a bit of space between the two of us.

“That’s it? You are going to him? You sick bitch” Ethan roared, most people snapping their head to look at us. The shock on their faces for some reason amused me.

"Ethan! I know you are stressed but that is not way to talk to your mate” Esme said, standing in between us like she was protecting me. I nearly scoffed. She was a good actor, I would give her that.’ I thought to myself, looking at the bitch in front of me.

Ethan looked around as though he was only now realising.

“Is that how you talk to her?” Ronan said, his voice filled with rage.

He matched up to me, pulling me as gently as possible to his side.

Again, I closed my eyes, savouring the feeling that went through my veins as he touched me.

‘Now is not the bloody time Anya’ I scolded myself, forcing my eyes to stay open as they threatened to roll back from pleasure.

“I would talk to that unpleasant looking Oaf however I want and there is nothing you can do about it” Ethan sneered, dropping the act completely.

It seemed to go silent for a while, the mocking in his voice did not in anyway go unnoticed by anyone. “Ethan!! you are ruining things!!!” Esme yelled, the panic in her voice could not be mistaken.

I felt my mouth go slack as his words hit me. I knew for a fact that he did not in anyway see me in a way that mates saw each other but unpleasant looking?

I felt my hands tremble, looking at the man that I once thought I loved, now?…

I scoffed, looking at him. “Unpleasant looking?” I found myself saying. My voice was small, almost as though I was scared to say anything.

“Oh please spare me those dramatics you are about to do” He said, rolling his eyes as though he was bored. “you act as though it is not an honour for me to even look in your direction” I felt my guts twist as I heard those words fall from his mouth.

“Ethan?” Esme’s voice came out in a warning tone, chewing the inside of her cheeks. Something she did when she was about to absolutely lose it.

“Oh for fuck’s sake! The bastard would take a bone given to her, no matter if she is treated right or not!!!!” Each word was a stab to my gut.

Had I looked so pitiful to him?

Was that how desperate I had made myself to be?’ I thought to myself as I felt my eyes blur at the words that came out of his mouth. He scoffed. “She even changed her hair for the attention, that’s to show you how far she is willing to go” His voice was mixed with disappointment, anger and irritation

“Come here, enough with this madness. I am tired of games, lets finish this”  I felt my feet rooted in place as I spoke.

Was this it? He expected I rush to his side? No apology? Like I was some dog?

I looked at him long and hard, the number of times I had swallowed every insult with excuses i had made up for him.

‘He was having a bad day’ or ‘ he obviously did not mean it, and I am just overreacting’ but now?

"No” I said, there was no getting back at him again there was no fighting back.

I just wanted to leave. The humiliation making me want to throw up but I held it together.

Ronan put his hands at the small of my back.

He looked at me with these eyes I had wished and hoped Ethan would look me with for years.

A man I had just met. “What did you just say to me?” Ethan said, the disbelief on his face was comical, only that I did not find it funny at the moment, nothing was.

“Anya, why don’t you just.. he does not mean it, you know that and..” Esme took my hand, trying to defend her man but I snatched my band back from her rather violently.

“I know about you two” I watched her face go white. Enough” I swallowed “Fuck you” She looked at me, her mouth opening and closing several times like she was either gasping for air or gaping like a fish.

No words dared to come out from her mouth, I mean, what could she say?

I turned, wanting to get the hell out of her.

Just as i turned to leave, Alpha Lucas rushed towards us, the crazed look in his eyes stopping me in my spot. Fear overtook me, making all the spells I could have used to get me out of the situation get stuck in my throat, like I had forgotten how to speak.

Ronan rushed to my front, shoving Lucas to the side like he was a piece of nothing. Then he turned to me, asking if I was alright when a blinding pain shot through my neck.

His face widened with fear and panicked flashed through his face as it was becoming impossible to breathe.

I fell to my knees, clutching my neck tightly. “I told you, she is mine…
