LOGINZero POVShadow doesn’t answer right away. His jaw flexes, eyes darting toward me like he’s debating whether to speak.“Shadow,” I press, my patience thinking. He looks like he is reconsidering telling me whatever it is he was told “What. Did. They. Find?”He swallows. “The car.”The world seems to stop moving. For a heartbeat, even my pulse freezes.“Where?”“About four miles downstream,” he says quietly. “No sign of the two though.”A gasp follows, it's Chloe’s. The last part has my heart clenching and trembling at the same time. That's good news right? If they are not in the wreckage, they escaped, right? Before I can be consumed by these thoughts, I grab my jacket without another word and stride out.“ Where are you going? I will come with you.” Chloe sniffs from behind me.I halt and turn to face her, forcing a smile.“ No Chloe. Stay here with the others. I’ll give you a call when I get there.” I say.She shakes her head, fear evident in her face.“ I want to see…” She star
ZeroAfter leaving the scene, I head straight to Club image to have a talk with Mr Lamberto. When I step into Mr. Lamberto’s office, the scent of cigars and old leather fills the air.The faint hum of the city beyond the tall windows gives the place a soft ambience, one that can lull you out of your worries.Mr Lamberto sits behind a mahogany desk, his expressions calm and unreadable as always. His sharp eyes settle on me when I step in and slowly follow my every step. I stop before his desk and tip my head in respect. Not only is he the age of my father, his position as the patron awards him as much respect. “Zero,” he says, motioning to the chair across from him. “I was expecting you,” he says. His voice is steady but I can feel the lingering pain and frustration hidden in it. “ I'm sorry I didn’t inform you before coming here.” I mutter, lowering myself into the chair.“ It's nothing. Considering the current situation we are in, I'd say no one has time for that.” He says, g
Zero POVSometimes life can be cruel and fucked up. One moment, we are all celebrating Mason and Hera's engagement. The next, news of their tragic accident spreads like wildfire. I don't know if I should curse this wicked fate or comfort Chloe who has been crying nonstop since we found out what happened to the couple. Then there's the club, left under my care weighing heavily on me. Everyone is looking up to me to find Hera and Mason, hoping that I can give them good news. I have been stuck here for hours, at the place where their car plunged into. The divers sent to help in the search have not found anything. I have also tried diving, looking for their car. There's nothing, not even the slightest evidence that those two were here. The car was probably swept away considering how heavy the river currents are at night. I feel lost, I feel abandoned. Deep down, I want Viper to appear and slap my shoulder and tell me that he is okay, that Hera is okay. Heavy footsteps sound from b
Third person POV The once quiet gazebo erupted in cheers and claps as Mason slipped the ring onto Hera's finger. As they cheered, Mason and Hera remained lip locked, as if the presence of the others didn't bother them one bit.Nyx was the first to reach them with Lily bouncing in her arms, her eyes wide and grinning from ear to ear with excitement. "Congratulations MG! You finally charmed my brother into settling down." Nyx exclaimed, pulling Hera into a one-armed hug as the other arm kept Lily secure. Hera chuckled, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. Her face flushed with joy, as she hugged Nyx back. “ Thanks Nyx. Everything still feels surreal. It happened so fast, I am still overwhelmed.” Hera confessed.“ Hera, I know that this is too sudden especially with you having another family to manage but I believe this is something you considered at some point. My brother loves you and Lily? That girl absolutely adores you. I know you are going to have a beautiful home and life.”
Hera POV “I need to step into the bathroom Raven, can you come with me?” Chloe requests.“ Sure, I can take a moment to freshen up," Raven replies. The two of them make a bee line to the opposite direction leaving me with Nyx and Lily. Nyx steps up. "Hey, there's a kids' play zone over there. Mind if I take Lily to look around and give you a breather?” Nyx asks.Lily looks up at me, her eyes wide and excited. Seeing the anticipation on her face, I can't bring myself to say no.“Sure. You two have fun but don't stay for too long." “Don't worry we will be there before you know it.” Nyx replies, scooping Lily in her arms.Lily waves bye as they go.“Just great! Now I am all by myself.” I grumble, my eyes scanning the area.“ I might as well look around as I wait for them.” I say to myself, proceeding to the lobby.Inside I am greeted by a receptionist who gives me a warm smile.“ Hey,excuse me.” I call her attention.“ My friends are outside. I would like to take a stroll around as
Hera POVWhen the meeting ends with Mason suggesting he has a plan to exit peacefully, I carry Lily in my arms and step out.I didn't expect Mason to make such a bold move. It's dangerous and risky but it feels right. He is choosing Lily and I over the life he has built for half his life.I am happy but most importantly, I am proud of him.I can tell that the crew is devastated by his exit. It's understandable, he has been their leader since the club started. I have to admit that choosing Zero to take over as the VP was the best decision he made for them.Zero is capable, sometimes I feel like he is even better than Mason but in his own ways.I watch as Fiona walks out ahead of everyone else, looking dejected. She didn't have much reaction to Mason leaving the club. For someone who has pinned over Mason for so long, j expected her to flop off or say something crazy. Nothing like that happened. Her mother's disappearance seems to have shaken her.I feel sorry for her, not because of gu
