EMMA POV

We both laid on the bed,our body naked, Robert turned off the light and laid on me I was scared at first but then I realized that I was the one who wanted, he dipped it in but it wasnt entering, it was very hard and painful but then I told him to kept trying.

Finally.

So this was how sweet sex is.

Robert's eyes locked onto mine, filled with affection, love and understanding, even though my reasons for being there wasnt good. His gentle touch sent shivers down my spine as he guided me to the couch.

"I want your first time to be special," he whispered, his warm breath caressing my ear.

My heart fluttered. I have never been in this situation before, I dont even know how it feels like but now I know.

Robert's fingers intertwined with mine, his thumb tracing soothing circles on my palm. His gaze never left mine, filled with adoration.

"Are you sure? You are bleeding already. Should I stop? Or I should keep going" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

I nodded, my voice caught in my throat but then I spoke up “Go on…”

With tender care, Robert leaned in, his lips brushing against mine. Soft, gentle kisses deepened into passionate, yet gentle, explorations.

His hands cradled my face, thumbs tracing my cheeks. Every touch sent waves of desire through me.

As we kissed, Robert's fingers danced down my neck, shoulders, and arms, leaving trails of goosebumps.

"Beautiful," he whispered, his eyes roaming over me.

Robert's lips traveled down my neck, sending shivers. His warm breath on my skin made me tremble.

With reverence, he undressed me, each garment removed with precision and care.

His eyes never left mine, filled with awe and admiration.

"You're stunning," he breathed.

Robert's fingers traced my curves, sending sparks.

His lips followed, leaving kisses on my skin.

I felt cherished, protected.

As we moved together, Robert's pace was deliberate, gentle.

"Relax," he whispered. "Let me take care of you."

His touch ignited flames within me.

With each movement, Robert's love and consideration wrapped around me and his slow movement on me, his dick slowly in and out of my pussy.

Time stood still.

In this moment, nothing else existed.

Only Robert.

Only us.

Only love.

But the bloodstains on the bed and the way his eyes lingered on me afterward told a different story.

I should have known better. He was older than me, older than my mother for crying out loud, but the way he touched me…

I shook my head, clearing the thoughts. Stop it. Don’t go there.

He had offered to clean the sheets, offered to take care of everything like it was nothing to him. I had felt small, so out of place in this luxurious room, but he made it seem like it was just another day. Just another bedspread.

And maybe to him, it was.

I sighed as I let the hot water from the shower pour down my back, hoping it would wash away the confusion, the conflict inside me. My skin was red from the heat, but the water didn’t do a damn thing for the stain on my conscience. I could still feel his hands on me, still feel the way he had looked at me when I lay down beside him after it was over. He was already back on his phone by then, his mind elsewhere.

And now, here I was, standing in a hotel bathroom, scrubbing away invisible marks while a box full of cash sat waiting on the bed.

I finished showering, wrapping the thick towel around myself as I stepped back into the room. The bedspread had been changed, the blood long gone, replaced by crisp white sheets. Robert was sitting on the edge of the bed, his iPad in hand, a crease between his brows as he read something. He glanced up when I walked in, his eyes scanning me, but there was no heat in his gaze now, just a casual acknowledgment.

“Feeling better?” he asked, his voice deep and smooth, almost too casual for what had just transpired between us.

I nodded, unsure of what else to say. What could I say? thanks for cleaning up my blood.

He stood up and handed me the box. “Here. This should cover your mom’s hospital bills, right?”

I stared at the box for a second before taking it. It felt heavier now, like it wasn’t just money inside but something much more complicated. I couldn’t bring myself to meet his eyes as I whispered, “Yeah. This is more than enough.”

He smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Good. You are a good girl.”

Good girl.

The words stung more than they should have, but I forced myself to smile back. “Thanks.”

He asked for my contact before I left, casually, like he was asking for something as trivial as a business card. I panicked for a second, unsure of what to do. In the end, I gave him a fake number. It felt right. I wasn’t part of his world, and he wasn’t part of mine. We were two different people passing through each other’s lives, and that was all this was ever supposed to be.

I didn’t want him calling me, didn’t want to risk getting sucked back into this strange, twisted situation.

My mother's Bill's are going to be paid, nothing else matters anymore.

Shit.

My friend, the one who had helped me tonight, I knew she would be expecting something from me.

---

I woke up the next morning before dawn, the light in my room barely filtering through the curtains. My head pounded, my body ached in all the wrong places, and for a moment, I had forgotten where I was. Then I saw the box of money sitting on the chair next to my bed, and everything came flooding back.

I stared at it for a long time, my stomach churning. I should have felt grateful, right? This was what I wanted—what I needed. My mom’s medical bills were the only thing that mattered right now. But the thought of using that money… it felt tainted. Like it came with strings I couldn’t see yet.

Still, I didn’t have a choice.

I got out of bed, throwing on a hoodie and a pair of leggings before grabbing the box. It was heavy in my hands, and for a second, I considered leaving it behind. Just walking away and never looking back. But that wasn’t an option. Not with the hospital breathing down my neck, not with my mom’s condition getting worse by the day.

The hotel lobby was quiet as I slipped out, the early morning staff barely noticing me as I passed through. I felt like a ghost, moving through a world that didn’t quite see me. And maybe that was for the best.

Outside, the city was just starting to wake up. The sun hadn’t fully risen yet, but the streets were already buzzing with life. People rushing to work, cars honking, the faint smell of coffee in the air. I clutched the box tighter, trying to blend in, trying to forget.

But then, just as I was about to hail a cab, Then I saw her. My friend.

She was standing across the street, her eyes locked on me. This time, there was no mistaking the look on her face—she wanted answers.

I hesitated for a moment, debating whether I should just walk away again. But something in the way she stood there, arms crossed, waiting, made me stop.

With a deep breath, I crossed the street, the box of money tucked under my arm like a dirty secret.

“I saw you leave with that old man last night,” she said before I even had a chance to speak. Her voice was hard, but there was a flicker of concern beneath it.

“Yeah, he wasnt that old” I replied, not knowing what else to say. What was I supposed to tell her? That I had gotten exactly what I came for but felt worse than before? That the money in this box was supposed to fix everything, but instead, it felt like it had broken something inside me?

She eyed the box, her expression unreadable. “So, did you get what you needed?”

I nodded. “Yeah. It’s enough to cover my mom’s bills.”

She was silent for a moment, then she sighed, her shoulders slumping. “Good. I’m glad. But you know this… this isn’t who you are. You’re not cut out for this.”

Her words hit me harder than I expected. I swallowed, glancing down at the box in my hands. “But you know I don't have a choice.”

“I know.” Her voice softened, and she stepped closer, her hand resting on my arm. “But don’t let this become your life. Don’t let it change you.”

I looked up at her, my chest tightening. For the first time since this whole mess started, I felt the sting of tears in my eyes. I blinked them back, refusing to let them fall.

“I won’t,” I whispered, though I wasn’t sure if I believed it.

She nodded, her hand dropping back to her side. “You’d better not.”

With that, she turned and walked away, leaving me standing there with a box full of money and a heart that felt heavier than ever.

As I watched her disappear into the crowd, I knew she was right. This wasn’t who I was. But the question was, could I ever go back to who I used to be? Or had this already changed me forever?

The morning light filtered softly through the curtains of Ava's apartment, casting a golden hue on the empty space. It should have been peaceful—a quiet, calm morning. But for Ava, it felt anything but. The air was thick with the weight of the news that had reached her just before dawn. She sat in front of the TV, her eyes glued to the screen as the anchor’s voice filled the room, the words she never thought she would hear reverberating in her mind.“...police have confirmed the death of Natalie Carmichael, 32, found in her apartment under suspicious circumstances. Sources say her death appears to be the result of foul play, and the investigation is ongoing.”The words barely reached her as Ava's gaze flickered to the coffee table where her phone lay, still buzzing with missed calls. The message was clear, but Ava couldn't quite absorb it. Natalie—dead. Ava felt a numbness settle over her, like someone had placed a heavy blanket over her chest. The low hum of the city beyond Natalie’s window did nothing to calm her nerves. The dim light of the café flickered slightly as Carolyn sat at a corner booth, her fingers nervously tapping on the edge of her coffee cup. She had arrived early, more out of habit than necessity. She needed time to think, time to prepare. Her mind was still reeling from the conversation she’d overheard between Emma and Ava. There was something off about Ava—something dark beneath the surface. Carolyn couldn't shake the feeling that Ava had known more than she was letting on. And that unsettling thought had led her here, to this meeting with Natalie. It had taken Carolyn days to arrange it. The soft light of dusk filtered through the curtains, casting a pale glow over the room. Emma sat on the edge of her bed, her knees drawn up to her chest, arms wrapped around them as though trying to hold herself together. The silence of the house felt suffocating, like a heavy blanket that pressed against her chest, making it hard to breathe. The words the doctor had said kept echoing in her mind, each syllable a sharp reminder of the pain that had settled deep inside her, the loss that she couldn’t yet process, let alone accept. The doctor’s voice had been gentle, kind even, but the truth was still there, unspoken, hanging in the air between them. She would never be able to carry another child.
