A Guest Arrives

Camila's POV

I couldn't believe what had just happened. "Jaxon? I told you what happened, how can you still doubt me like this!"

Savanah blinked, she knew her brother was taking her side. "Why will you lie like this, Camila? What did I ever do wrong?"

"You--" anger filled me but I never spoke bad to my in laws before so why start now?

"Aren't you even bothered about your son? Look at you keen on attacking my own precious daughter." Aubrey said. It raised a few suspicious glances at me from everyone that I turned to leave.

I paused, then signaled to Jaxon. "I need to see you."

He hesitated for a while, then rose up.

"Where are you going my son? Stay, will you?" Aubrey asked.

"Yea, are you acting like a pussy like this because of this woman?" Blake spat out. I always found Blake disgusting. He was a big headache on his own.

With Jaxon being the first child, he sure allowed his younger ones take advantage of him too much. And Jaxon and I were almost age mates with him taking one year from me. While Savanah was older than Blake with two years but younger than Jaxon with four.

Once we were on our way upstairs to where the maid said Caleb was, I frowned and turned to him. "Why? Why didn't you take my side?"

"Take your side? Savanah is 26 years old. She's younger than both of us. Why should I make her feel bad huh?"

I didn't believe what he was spewing. "You're tired of me, right? I asked that you let me leave with Caleb for a short while to go for a vacation but you refused! You won't let me work, you won't let me have friends. What do you actually want from me? You say my stomach is getting big, but you won't even let me register in the gym to go exercise!"

"Tell me now," Jaxon said after a while. He at least let me catch my breath first. "Is there another man in the picture?"

I blinked, surprise by the foolish question he'd just asked. "What?"

His eyed fixed on me. "You want to divorce me? You want to leave me for another man? You want to take Caleb away from me?"

"What are you saying! That's not making any sense at all!"

He pressed his hand firmly to my neck, strangling me. "Then stop talking about you wanting to leave me alone!"

I tried to breath but his grip became harder the more I gasped for air. "L-let go of me." My eyes started to feel dizzy as I slapped and hit him repeatedly to escape.

"You terrify me by asking all of that! You are a married woman and you should be by my side. Don't ever think for once that you can leave me, do you understand that? Nod if you understand me!"

Desperate, I shook my head hoping it resembled a nod. Fire resided in his eyes but he finally let me go. I coughed, trying to catch my breath.

The maid stood with her eyes wide opened but she failed so hard at pretending she had not seen what had just happened. Feeling embarrassed, Jaxon cleared his throat and came closer to me. "Are you okay love?"

I pushed his hand away, then turned to the maid. "Where is Caleb again?"

"Yes. Where is he?"

"No. You will go back downstairs while I go and see my son." I said to Jaxon in the mort toughest voice I could manage with my face hard as stone.

Finally, he grumbled. "Of course." Then turned to leave.

I still held my neck, feeling this burning pain. Once upstairs, I saw Caleb in my room seated gently on the bed. His eyes lit up when he saw me, but he frowned as quickly again, pouting.

Caleb was just like his father in every way. He looked nothing like me. He was tall like his dad, and had deep shaggy brown hair. Unlike me, who was a red haired slender lady with slightly darker skin. I looked like my late mother, took her rosebud lips and fine stature with a curvy figure.

I sat down next to him. Caleb was in his teenage age, always reveling against me. "What did I do wrong this time, honey?"

"You invited her. I heard daddy call her." He said, frowning his face. I didn't understand what he had meant.

"I invited who?"

"My teacher, who's suddenly your friend. Just because miss Vanessa is your friend doesn't mean she gets to be at grandpa's ceremony!"

It was a shock to me. "Wait, daddy called her over?" Why would Jaxon call Vanessa over? "I'm sure it's only just a misunderstanding--"

Another maid knocked, then stepped inside. "I'm sorry ma'am, but you're asked to come down and greet the guest that has just arrived."

"Asked to...who sent you here, huh?"

"It's Mr. Jaxon, ma'am. He said the guest is your friend, and she wants to see you."
