Camila's POV

I frowned, watching as the phone rang over and over again. Before Tessa left, she had warned me not to answer the phone. What the hell did he want now?

Caleb was inside now, getting all comfy with his new room. Everywhere has been arranged to taste, we just arrived and moved in. God bless my cousin and her parents for doing this for us!

Ring!

"Oh for fuck sake!" I summoned all confidence and picked up. "What do you want now?"

His tone was low, but still filled with anger. "I have been calling for God knows how long. What is going on with you and your foolish pride!"

"You have just 1 minute before I hang up." I made myself clear. I was the soft minded type of lady to forgive easily, but I can't forget. How could I forget that Jaxon had kicked me, and his son out just like that? For Jaxon, even forgiving him is hard to do.

He chuckled. "You know, I like this side of you. Very fierce, sexy even. But we both know it's not going to last long. From the way your voice is sounding, you must be in some sort of ghetto, a dirty filthy area. I just feel bad for my son."

This made me roll my eyes. "Oh, he's your son now?"

"Don't be dramatic now. He has always been my son. In fact, when I'm writing my will, his name will be included."

"His name will be included? He is your fucking child! You know what?" I found out he was only enraging me now. "You've had 1 minute but you kept on spewing nonsense."

"Hold on now. I am offering you a second chance."

He was getting me so angry that I couldn't wait and listen anymore. I just had to hang up. The phone rang 3 times more before he decided to stop.

It was towards that evening time. Living in that new place still felt...strange to me. One minute I was married and the next, I'm getting kicked out? Who would have thought that all these years of marriage would mean nothing to a man.

I heaved in a deep sigh. It was weighing on me too much than I'd expected. But at least I now have bigger things to worry about, like making new money to pay our bills, and sending Caleb to a fine school like his old one.

"Honey?” I called out for Caleb. He dragged his feet in slow footsteps but was finally standing in front of me.

"Mom, I'm hungry." He said, pouting.

I smiled. "I know, which is why I'm going to the closest supermarket to fetch us some ingredients." I announced to him. We'd only fed on junk food but I wanted to cook something healthy for dinner.

"You stay indoors, lock the door." I said to him and he gave me a "Yes, ma'am" nod. I'd grabbed my purse and was about to leave when he called out.

"Mom, you know why dad hasn't even called my number since we left? Because he doesn't love me as I thought he did."

Right there in that moment, it was an effort not to collapse from a heartbreak. I tried everything to make myself appear strong and confident in front of him when deep down, I wanted to burst out in tears.

"Don't think like that, honey. He hasn't called me either. But someone left a message on one of the maid's phones." I said with a fake smile. It was hard trying to convince Caleb. He wasn't as little as he used to be before. "Your dad's phone got spoiled and he will get a new one and call today."

I could barely read the expression on his face whether he was sad, or low key excited. Finally, he gave a nod again. Great! I'd just lied to my own son! "Honey, if he calls you, you let me know what he said, okay?" I decided to point that out.

He gave me this suspicious look before giving another nod. That boy and his father's arrogance sometimes.

I needed to head out already, no more wasting time. Damn it, why was I suddenly afraid now? I was scared I'd run into some rich unfriendly neighbors!

I raised my head up and walked out the door. The worst that could happen has already happened to me. My rich husband and his family kicked me out with my son.

The thought of that rich playboy we bumped into still annoyed me, we didn't return the money and expensive gift he gave us!

Hopefully I'd never have to run into him again.

On my way out, my phone buzzed. It was a text message. I didn't feel like opening it so I just ignored it and kept walking. The supermarket wasn't too far, Tania had and I had located it earlier on our way.

A lady with short black pixie hairstyle and fair skin, was carrying this scrawny looking naked cat. It had no fur at all! She stopped and eyed me up and down as if we'd met before. Then she was whispering something to her cat.

I gave her the side eyes and kept walking. Somehow, we both entered the supermarket, then I lost her. What a weirdo.

I picked out some few items I knew would be useful to cook for dinner and headed to the cashier to pay. She picked my card and swiped, but with this rude attitude. Geez, must they all behave to me this way? Because...what, I'm new in town?

She shook her head and tried again, eyes encircled with black thick liners flashed at me. "It's not working." She said.

"What?" It just came to me. "Not working? But there's money there. Try again." She didn't argue, she didn't have to with the way her face squeezed into a frown, but she did.

"Same thing, miss."

I tried to remain calm. Not working? This was embarrassing. What happened, I had money there! "Um, well--"

"Wow, would you look at that. I figured what was this cheap thing looking for in our neighborhood!" Said a voice from behind.

I turned to find the cat lady sneering behind me. Now that I stared harder...I did know her. Great, what a bad day I was about to have.

  • The Billionaire's Taste    Tastes Like An Offer

Third POV "Please, Savanah, you've gotta help me!" Cried Rose again. She was used to her stupid crocodile tears. Always getting into trouble and waiting for her to solve it for her. "Recap again, I'm so tired of this dumb story. You're telling me that you saw Camila at your fancy neighborhood?""I did, yes! She's living there somehow, I'm not too sure how she was able to even rent a place there." Rose cried out over the phone. "Anyway, you have to help me. There's some rich guy, Nico, we met him at this bar. Very sexy and all. I didn't know he was very powerful but now he's saying I need to move out of here!""I just came out of prison, they arrested me! But they let me go because they'll see to it that I move away from the neighborhood! You've gotta help me punish this guy or something."Savanah smiled,"I'm sorry love..you're on your own." She hung up and quickly blocked Rose's number so her calls don't go through. "I've warned you to stop making a mess getting in trouble like this

  • The Billionaire's Taste    Tastes Like Trouble

Camila's POV My eyes widened as I heard that. "What?" I blurted out. Nico said nothing but you could see the shock on his face."Excuse me miss, what are you saying?" Asked the man who had brought her here. He looked just as shocked. "He's the one who sexually assaulted me." She kept saying, pointing fingers at Nico."You will be sued to court for defamation if you keep spewing this nonsense." Nico said at last. "I assaulted you? Here?"Rose nodded proudly."Why don't you tell us exactly what happened?" I stepped forward. This wasn't making any sense but I wanted to see how she could push this lie forward. It could be settled once she tells any more lies, and we request to check the CCTV footage. I didn't know why I suddenly turned into Nico's lawyer but Rose is really pissing me off!"Yes ma'am, kindly explain to us exactly what has happened. Let me get you right, you're saying this man here tried to assault you? Pick your words carefully--" She didn't let the man finish before sh

  • The Billionaire's Taste    Tastes Like A Setup

Camila's POV This was none other than Rose, Savanah's loyal bitch!"Wait, it's you isn't it?" I rolled my eyes. She looked nothing like her because her hair used to be white, literally white. Now it's a black pixie, looking better on her...focus, Camila!"Camila Torres, the poor low life Jaxon married out of pity." She sneered."Out of pity? Good that's what you think. You know what, good that you're thinking at all, but I don't have time for this nonsense. Since I've cut myself off of Jaxon and his mad family, you're also included.""Okay then, why don't you pay for your vegetables? You can't, because you've been poor and filthy since he left you. How did you even get here in the first place?"Oh no. I didn't want Jaxon to know where I lived. "I don't stay here, you moron." I said defensively. She gave it a thought. "Of course. Maybe you're living with some stupid relative. But I never knew you had any rich relative who can afford living here.""Hold on, let me get the gist right. D

  • The Billionaire's Taste    Tastes Like We're Going To Be Rich!

Camila's POV "Thanks Tessa, you really are the best." I said with a smile. Caleb was pouting and didn't even say a word. I could see him from the mirror. "Honey, won't you say thank you to Tessa for her help?" He shrugged. "Whatever, thanks aunt Tessa." "Teenagers." I said cloaking my concern in an awkward smile. "That doesn't mean he should give you that tone. I tell you all the time, Cami. That tone was not proper." Tessa insisted. "Can we not talk about that now?" I cut her off. She always told me to handle the situation more seriously, telling me that I wouldn't want him to become bratty like Jaxon's family, and it always hurt a little. But today will not be the day to scold him. "Sure, fine whatever you say, cuz." She said instantly. Tessa was like my sister, and her parents took care of me like I was their own. "So how's aunty and uncle?" She smiled,"when you call then aunty and uncle, you sound like you're still four years old." I ended up laughing. "Well,

  • The Billionaire's Taste    Tastes Like This Is Goodbye

Camila's POV I mean I had always suspected something strange was going on between them. Caleb even made assumptions! I...I just couldn't believe my doubts to be true. I didn't know how long I'd been waiting but finally, Jaxon came back. Blake was not with him. "You seem in a rush. How is she?" I said, even though I was still angry, I needed to know that she was okay. He ignored and kept pacing around. "Jaxon, can you hear me? I'm talking to you." "She could have died if we didn't rush her to the hospital on time, Camilla! Okay? Now leave me alone." "I don't like your tone. What is important is that she's fine now." "But my baby might not be!" He roared out. You could see the anger boiling in his eyes. "Your baby?" The words were heavy and bitter in my mouth. "If anything goes wrong, I will never forgive you okay! You'll pay for it. I wondered why tears weren't flooding from my eyes right now. I was devastated, after all this years of our marriage, he would cheat o
