Camila's POV

I mean I had always suspected something strange was going on between them. Caleb even made assumptions! I...I just couldn't believe my doubts to be true.

I didn't know how long I'd been waiting but finally, Jaxon came back. Blake was not with him.

"You seem in a rush. How is she?" I said, even though I was still angry, I needed to know that she was okay. He ignored and kept pacing around. "Jaxon, can you hear me? I'm talking to you."

"She could have died if we didn't rush her to the hospital on time, Camilla! Okay? Now leave me alone."

"I don't like your tone. What is important is that she's fine now."

"But my baby might not be!" He roared out. You could see the anger boiling in his eyes.

"Your baby?" The words were heavy and bitter in my mouth.

"If anything goes wrong, I will never forgive you okay! You'll pay for it.

I wondered why tears weren't flooding from my eyes right now. I was devastated, after all this years of our marriage, he would cheat on me and chose another woman over me?? Over our son!

"Jaxon, you'll do nothing if anything goes wrong. This wasn't my fault and you fucking know it!"

"You think I care who's fault it is right now? All I know is that she must be fine and healthy, and the baby too."

"Can you even hear yourself right now! You cheated on me, on Caleb. And you're still so arrogant like this. You owe us an apology."

He scoffed, then looked me dead in the eyes. I thought I would crumble to the floor with the way his towering stance dominated me. It did nothing but intimidate me. It felt like he would pounce on me with his fist in a heavy punch on my face. Still, I didn't falter.

"If you feel betrayed and sad, then pack your things and get out of my house."

I shivered, now feeling the weight of these words he was spewing. He spoke so cold, my eyes were teary now. I couldn't believe that our years of marriage was coming to an end. I wanted to cry now because I'd always had this imagination but now, it was real.

"You'd risk divorcing me just to be with Vanessa?" I swallowed. Why even bother to ask when I already knew the answer. I cleared my throat, doing everything just not to burst out in tears now. "I don't understand, what did I ever do wrong?"

"You're poor," Aubrey and Savanah stepped in. "You can't have kids, you're from a very low status compared to us. You're arrogant, you never show your gratitude that we took a poor thing like yourself in. Why shouldn't he leave you so he could teach you a lesson???"

"And you disrespect us a lot. It's annoying and you just deserve to leave." Savanna chirped in.

"Oh," I nodded slowly to myself. "It's the whole gang against me."

"You always knew you'd lost since day one. You just were selfish to leave. I'm so glad it's finally come to an end for you." Aubrey said.

"You're not going to say anything? You agree with them?" I said to Jaxon who's face was still as stiff as a rock.

There goes my answer.

"I'll pay you off. Just get lost. Caleb can do better without you." He said.

"What? You must be an idiot if you think I'd leave my son with you low life monsters." I said and they gasped. Aubrey stepped forward and slapped me, then moved back a little, smiling to herself.

"That's good. You deserve it," Savanah said. She was closer to me so it did not take more more than a second for my palm to meet with her cheeks.

The slap was even louder and immediately, blood stained her lips. Her eyes widened and she cried out. "How dare you!"

Slap!

Another one came down her cheeks and she roared out in a loud cry. Aubrey stepped forward. "Come any closer and your face will be bleeding like hers." I said to her and she stepped back, then went to pat her daughter who was crying now.

"That's enough!" Jaxon's voice was like thunder. With one step forward, his hand gripped my neck tight and I began to struggle for air. "You will never disrespect me or my family ever again." He pushed me so hard I fell and twisted an ankle.

Savanah and Aubrey began to laugh now. "What was that you said about taking my grandchild away from me? Never."

"You can die with your other grandchild for all I care. But nobody's taking Caleb from me!" My breath was rasped and shaky as I spoke.

"Mom," Jaxon said before Aubrey could speak again. "Leave her, let her take the bastard child."

"You don't even care about your own son." I said, then scoffed. "You’re just a heartless monster. Sure, Caleb is better off without you. He's better off without all of you!"

"Sure," Savanah said. "But here's the plot twist. We give you just one month, you'll come back crawling for help from us. Jaxon, don't give her any thing! Let her suffer."

"Yea, you don't even deserve our sympathy anymore. You fool! Just bring back my grandson after a month when you die of poverty and hunger." Aubrey spat out.

It was hard not to just collapse right there to the ground. I was exhausted, and afraid of what was to come. But I could die if I kept living with them. Besides, he divorced me and I wasn't going to beg him! Even if I try to, for Caleb's sake, he just called his own son a bastard.

I got finally. "Then this is goodbye. Go fuck yourselves," I was glad I made it upstairs without collapsing. I gathered the stuff I could. The maids assisted. Caleb came in looking all worried.

"I hope us packing means we're going on a vacation and not what I think it means?" He said. That was when the tears began to escape. It was so painful watching my little boy go through this.

"I know just the perfect place," I said, spreading my arms wide for him to come. "We're going to live in an estate. It's gonna be fine. I promise you, Caleb. Your daddy...he's filed for a divorce."

Camila's POV "Thanks Tessa, you really are the best." I said with a smile. Caleb was pouting and didn't even say a word. I could see him from the mirror. "Honey, won't you say thank you to Tessa for her help?" He shrugged. "Whatever, thanks aunt Tessa.""Teenagers." I said cloaking my concern in an awkward smile."That doesn't mean he should give you that tone. I tell you all the time, Cami. That tone was not proper." Tessa insisted."Can we not talk about that now?" I cut her off. She always told me to handle the situation more seriously, telling me that I wouldn't want him to become bratty like Jaxon's family, and it always hurt a little. But today will not be the day to scold him. "Sure, fine whatever you say, cuz." She said instantly. Tessa was like my sister, and her parents took care of me like I was their own."So how's aunty and uncle?" She smiled,"when you call then aunty and uncle, you sound like you're still four years old." I ended up laughing. "Well, I'm still their

Camila's POV"Me? Who's that?" I said, following her downstairs. "Her name was madam Vanessa."I did not hear her clearly. "I'm sure there's been some sort of mix up somewhere. Vanessa?" I shook my head. I wasn't buying this!I tried to keep myself, calming down. I always knew that Vanessa was becoming...too available. But she was my own friend, and I never invited her! "It's so lovely to see you here, I didn't think you would make it--" this was Aubrey, Jaxon's mother.I felt betrayed that my chest stung. "Wait, you knew of her arrival?" I turned to Jaxon, "you invited her over without telling me?""Oh I'm sorry to be an inconvenience. I jsit thought Jaxon would have let you know." Vanessa said, smiling innocently. "I'm a little angry, Vanessa. Why did you show up without letting me know." I frowned. No matter how cute she tried to be, I was still angry. "Caleb was even shocked too.""Can we just stop acting weird now and just eat??" Jaxon said, clearing his throat. "Come on, Vane

Camila's POVI couldn't believe what had just happened. "Jaxon? I told you what happened, how can you still doubt me like this!"Savanah blinked, she knew her brother was taking her side. "Why will you lie like this, Camila? What did I ever do wrong?""You--" anger filled me but I never spoke bad to my in laws before so why start now?"Aren't you even bothered about your son? Look at you keen on attacking my own precious daughter." Aubrey said. It raised a few suspicious glances at me from everyone that I turned to leave.I paused, then signaled to Jaxon. "I need to see you." He hesitated for a while, then rose up. "Where are you going my son? Stay, will you?" Aubrey asked."Yea, are you acting like a pussy like this because of this woman?" Blake spat out. I always found Blake disgusting. He was a big headache on his own. With Jaxon being the first child, he sure allowed his younger ones take advantage of him too much. And Jaxon and I were almost age mates with him taking one year

The brownies were getting burnt! I could not just speak directly of course. But I had to do something. "Um, Savanah, they're getting burnt." I said to her in a gentle tone. She looked at me like I were something from the trash can, those big eyes bulged open."Who are you to tell me what to do? You fool." She scoffed. "Why don't you do it then?"It was the anniversary of the late boss Hans, the head of the family. He died three years ago so they celebrated him every year. The whole family gathered to celebrate him, but my husband and I host everyone. "Sure. I'll just switch off the oven now." I quickly rush to off it. She rolled her eyes and walked away. My husband came in just in that moment. "And what's up with her now?" Jaxon said in his deep voice. He had grown extra the couple past years I barely recognized him with his tummy slightly protruding. "I just stepped in now and saw the brownies were getting burnt!"I explained while taking out the brownies from the oven. "We might
