I didn’t look back, I couldn’t.

The moment I stepped out of that room, my legs moved on their own; fast, frantic, almost stumbling over the polished marble as I fled down the endless palace corridor.

All I wanted was distance. From her, from the palace, from Ryder from this pack, from everyone who looked at me like I was something they’d accidentally stepped on, everyone who judged me without even hearing my side of the story.

It was as if I had jumped from the frying pan directly into fire, no hiccups, just straight into the fire that was burning me more than I could take.

All I had wanted was peace of mind finally, to move on and start my life over, but guess who was in the most stormy moment of their life?
