OLIVIA

"Yes, I'm for real," I said, unable to keep the smile off my face at his reaction.

"You... you want to try? With me?" He sounded almost disbelieving, like he couldn't quite process what I was saying.

"I mean, don't make me regret it before we even start," I teased. "But yes. I want to try. Whatever this is, whatever it could be... I want to see where it goes."

He turned to face me fully, and the expression on his face was so open, so vulnerable, so full of hope that it made my chest ache.

"I don't deserve you," he said quietly.

"Probably not," I agreed with a small smile.

He laughed and reached out, hesitating just before his hand touched mine on the railing.

"Is this okay?" he asked softly.

Instead of answering, I turned my hand over and laced my fingers through his.

"Yeah," I said. "This is okay."

We stood there on my balcony, holding hands and looking out at the city.

"So," Ryan said after a moment, his thumb gently stroking the back of my hand. "Visiting each other. Does th

  • The Bride He Never Wanted    You can stay

OLIVIAI slightly opened the door, and my heart nearly jumped out of my mouth.Logan.He was standing right there, on my doorstep, wearing a casual button-down shirt and jeans, his hands in his pockets."Olivia! Hey," he said warmly,I couldn't speak. My mouth opened, but no words came out. My heart was pounding so hard I was sure he could hear it. Every muscle in my body had gone rigid with fear and shock. Was he here because he knew we'd found them?Ryan stepped forward, positioning himself partially in front of me, and I felt a rush of gratitude for his presence."Hi," Ryan greeted.Logan's eyes flickered to Ryan, and something shifted in his expression but he recovered quickly. Then he ignored Ryan completely and turned to face me.“I'm sorry for showing up unannounced like this. I've been trying to reach you, but you haven't been picking up my calls."My voice came back to me, though it was shaky and weak. "How... how did you know where I live?"The question came out more like an

OLIVIAI was so shocked I could barely process what I was seeing. Who actually had the guts to do this to me?My body became weak instantly, my legs threatening to give out beneath me. I sank onto the couch, staring at the devices like they might suddenly explain themselves."How long have these been here?" I whispered, my voice barely audible. "How long has someone been... watching me?"Ryan immediately sat beside me, his hand finding mine and squeezing tight. "I'll tell someone I know to run a check on these cameras," he said firmly. "A tech expert who can trace them, figure out who planted them and when. Don't worry, Olivia. I promise you, I will get to the end of this."But I was scared. More scared than I'd been in a long time. Even breaking into that government facility hadn't felt this violating, this personal.Someone had been in my home. My safe space. Watching me sleep, shower, cook, live my life. And I'd had no idea.My mind was racing, trying to make sense of it all.Was i

RYANI was so happy as I watched her serve the food onto plates for both of us, carefully portioning out the Jollof rice and adding the fried plantains we'd made earlier. The way she moved around the kitchen, so confident and at ease, made my chest feel tight with something I couldn't quite name. This felt so surreal. If anyone had told me a few months ago that I'd be here with Olivia today, in her kitchen, learning to cook, laughing together like this, I wouldn't have believed them. Hell, I would have thought they were insane. But here I was. In her kitchen. With her. And it felt more right than anything had in a long time."Why are you smiling like that?" Olivia asked, looking up at me with those beautiful eyes."Nothing," I said, unable to stop the smile from spreading wider across my face. She smiled back, shaking her head. "Alright then, Mr. Mysterious. Let's eat."We settled at her small dining table, and I took my first real bite of the Jollof rice we'd made together. The flavo

OLIVIAI pulled open my pantry, scanning the contents with a chef's critical eye. "Okay, so I'm going to teach you how to make Jollof rice."Ryan looked at me blankly. "Jollof... what now?""Jollof rice. It's a Nigerian dish." I started pulling out ingredients… rice, tomatoes, onions, peppers. "I tried it once from a recipe I found online and fell in love with it. It's flavorful, not too complicated, and if you mess it up, the Nigerian aunties on the internet will haunt you in your dreams.""That sounds... terrifying and delicious at the same time.""It is." I set everything on the counter and turned to him. "Alright, first lesson: wash your hands properly. Like, actually properly. You're handling food."He gave me an amused look but obediently went to the sink, scrubbing his hands thoroughly while I watched with approval."Good. Now, we're going to start with the tomato base- it's called the stew. This is the foundation of everything, so pay attention." I grabbed the tomatoes, bell p

RYANWe'd freshened up and were now lying on her bed, Olivia resting on my chest, my arm wrapped around her shoulders. The silence between us was comfortable and peaceful, but there was so much I wanted to say that the words kept getting tangled in my throat.I couldn't believe this had happened again. This was the second time since last night, and each time felt like a revelation, like discovering something I didn't know I'd been searching for my entire life.My fingers traced lazy patterns on her bare shoulder as I stared at the ceiling, trying to process everything. She'd given me a chance despite everything I'd done, despite how I'd pushed her away, despite the mess my life was.I would make sure I tried my best to prove that I really loved her. I would do everything I could to be the man she deserved, to show her that this wasn't just physical, that what I felt for her went deeper than anything I'd ever experienced."You're thinking too loud," Olivia murmured against my chest, he

OLIVIAThe kiss was soft at first, like we were both afraid of breaking this fragile thing we were building. His lips were gentle against mine, asking permission even as I was already giving it.Then I reached up, threading my fingers through his hair, and everything shifted. The kiss deepened, became more urgent. His other hand came up to cradle the back of my head as he angled his mouth over mine, and I felt myself drowning in the sensation of him… the taste of coffee on his lips, the slight scrape of his fingers against my skin, the way he held me like I was something precious.I shifted in his arms, turning more fully toward him, and he made a sound low in his throat that sent heat pooling in my stomach. His hands moved to my waist, pulling me closer, and I went willingly, pressing against him as our lips moved together in perfect synchronization. We pulled back just enough to catch our breath, our foreheads resting together, eyes locked in that hazy, unspoken intensity.
