Chapter 22: Habits

The first week since the night she moved, Grace always reminded Evelyn to try to thank everyone, no matter how small or big. Evelyn also admitted, that the performance of the maids got better and looked happier. Grace had also told her maids that Evelyn was studying. That is, not necessarily she will immediately be able to thank them every time. So, the maids must be more patient and sensitive in responding to the various forms of gratitude that Evelyn conveys. The maids were very happy with Evelyn's small change. They grew to idolize Grace, often bringing her cake, tea, or even just stopping by for a massage and chatting with Grace.

Entering the second week, Grace ventured to visit Evelyn in her office. Scott picked her up that day. The atmosphere in the office is not much different from the conditions at Evelyn's house. Cold, stiff and awkward. At the office, Grace had to be more careful not to provoke talk about her. After some persuasion, Evelyn also began to learn to say thank yo
