Chapter 114: Impressing My Bride

Ashton's POV

It still felt surreal having Megan's head on my chest while she was sleeping peacefully. And I was still in a daze as I looked at her sleeping figure in my arms. I could hear her calm breathing, and I couldn't stop caressing her back, and I could still feel the after-effect of our lovemaking, and I admit it was mind-blowing, and I wanted to claim Megan again, and I know I couldn't get enough of her. 

But I am aware she was tired from her excursion with her siblings. And her heavenly scent is driving me nuts, and I couldn't wait to make her my wife. Her soft breathing was like music in my ears, and I was watching her face with a broad smile on my face thinking tomorrow, she will become mine.

I was still caressing Megan's back when I heard my phone ringing, and I slowly got up from the bed, careful not to wake up Megan. I picked up my smartphone from the bedside table, and I grinned as I looked at my sister's name flashing on my screen. I walked out towards the balcony of Megan's room before I took Isabelle's call.

"Hello, Belle, it is already late, and I wonder why you are still calling me at this hour?" I asked with a broad smile on my face.

"Are you kidding me, Ashton? Do you think I will keep silent after reading your exciting news; mom and our brothers have arrived, and they were looking for you, but I told them you will be spending the night at Megan's place, and they are all excited about tomorrow." She responded, and I could tell Isabelle was also smiling on the other line.

"Of course, after what happened recently, I don't want to be away from Megan, and I am so excited to make her my wife, be sure to be at the Mayor's office tomorrow with them. I already texted you the details." I declared.

"We won't miss it, Ashton, and I am so happy that you decided to marry Megan in a civil union because if we wait for your Church Wedding, I could tell it would take time, and I am so proud of you, and so far, I could say that would be the best thing you have ever done for Megan and Axel, and I am sure you will make her so happy." My sister replied.

"I was afraid if something will happen again, I am not only worried about our father, and I am more concerned about Gael and Claire, and I don't care about my endorsements, but I will keep it as secret as possible since I am still a celebrity, but after all my contracts expire, I will not renew any of my endorsements," I stated.

"I wanted to devote my time to my family, and I wished to give Megan a peaceful life, and even if she didn't ask me anything about my career, I am aware she wanted to have a private life, and if I continue to appear on the television, I am sure the media will continue to dig about my personal life," I added.

"Good choice, my dearest brother, and I couldn't wait to witness your vow for each, and I am so excited for tomorrow." My sister responded I wonder if she will still feel excited if she learns Dexter is here in Megalopre, and they can no longer avoid seeing each other.

I didn't want my sister to hate me for not telling her that Megan's brother would be there to witness our civil union, but I didn't want Isabelle to change her mind, and I was afraid she would not attend our wedding ceremony. She is one of the most important people in my life, and I want her to be there for Megan and me.

"Mom is so excited to see Axel, and she wanted to go over there, but I told her it was already late, and everyone was ecstatic when I told them about your plan. And I think I better go to bed now even if I know you find it hard to fall asleep because of your excitement for tomorrow." Isabelle added.

"Okay, good night, Belle, and thank you so much for always being there for me," I said.

"Of course, I am willing to do anything for you, my favorite brother." She said, and I laughed.

"Don't tell them about that," I said after my laughter subsided.

"Well, our brothers knew about that already; goodbye, Ashton." She replied and ended the call while I turned around with a wide grin on my face, and when I got back inside Megan's room, I saw her sitting on the bed, and I could see the worried look on her face.

"Hey, what is wrong?" I softly asked Megan as I came closer to her and sat on the bed beside her.

"I thought you left me again." She said in more than a whisper, and I took her hands and looked at her in the eyes.

"No, Megan, I am not going anywhere, and now I realize I made the right choice in marrying you tomorrow; so that all your worries and uncertainties will be gone," I said as I caressed her face.

"I am sorry, Isabelle called me, and I don't want to wake you up from your sleep, and I got out on the balcony to speak with my sister," I added, and a beautiful smile appeared on her lovely face.

"It is okay, Ashton, and I am now okay knowing you are still here with me." She responded, and I got back into the bed and took her into my arms.

"I will never leave you again, Megan," I said, and I didn't give her a chance to respond since I captured her mouth, and we shared another passionate kiss before we fell asleep.

I woke up the following day feeling happy and contented, and I didn't want to wake her up yet, but she had a wedding to attend. I woke her up by kissing her on the lips, and when she kissed me back with the same urgency, I knew right away I needed to take her once again before we took a bath, and we made love long and sweet, and I could tell it was one of the best mornings I had my entire life.

"Good morning!" We both greeted everyone at the table as we joined Megan's family during breakfast, and I could see the happiness on our son's face as he came closer to me, and he sat on my lap right away, and I was kissing Axel's head when I heard Megan's father cleared his throat.

"Ashton, I already informed everyone about your plans for today, and my wife informed Axel's homeroom teacher that he will be absent from his class today." Mr. Corteza said.

"Thank you, dad, and I hope everyone will get ready after eating breakfast," I responded, and I could see the happiness on their faces as they nodded their heads, and we ate our meal in high spirits.

"You bought me a dress for my civil wedding?" Megan's eyes widened after she took a shower and found the white dress lying on top of the bed.

"Yeah, I bought that dress when I was thinking of marrying you in a civil ceremony before our church wedding because I couldn't wait to have you as my wife," I answered, and she looked so beautiful as she smiled at me while her face was blushing.

"Thank you for this beautiful white long dress, Ashton," she said as I helped her with the zipper, and I was in awe as I looked at my bride.

"You are welcome, Megan; you are so beautiful with that dress," I said, and she beamed at me.

"And you look dashing as always," she responded, and she was looking at her reflection in the mirror; Megan put on a light makeup on her face, and even if I know she will always be beautiful in my eyes, Megan looked fabulous with the dress.

I felt glad I followed my instinct, and I was thankful to our enemies for trying to break us apart because they didn't know. After what they did, I could feel our love for each other become stronger.

"Are you ready?" I asked Megan.

"Never been ready my entire life," she answered right away, and I chuckled as I offered her my hand; we walked out of her bedroom holding hands, and I felt so happy as we descended the stairs as I realized her whole family was waiting for us to come down.

"Oh, Megan, you looked so beautiful!" I heard his father comment while I could see Megan's mom wiping her tears.

"Yes, you are so beautiful, sis," Ava seconded, and my beautiful bride smiled from ear to ear as she said her thanks.

I smiled when I found our company driver waiting for us in the driveway. I should thank Leslie later, I only instructed my secretary on what to do, and I realized she did an incredible job when I saw Ava hand a beautiful bouquet to Megan.

"I thought this was an emergency wedding; I never expected you would be as ready as this, Mr. Pritzgold," Megan said after she inhaled her bouquet.

"I want to impress my bride," I responded, and just on time, Zachary's car pulled over on Megan's driveway, and I felt so happy to see my best friend with Alice.

"You already owned my heart, Ashton, and you don't need to impress me." She responded, and my heart swelled with happiness as I heard her sweet words, and everyone got inside the coaster van. I sat beside Megan while our son was on my lap.

I was holding my bride's hand as the vehicle drove away from her house, and I couldn't stop my heart from hammering as I could feel my enthusiasm for attending my wedding, and I was so excited to tie the knot with the woman I love sitting beside me.
