Megan's POV

"What happened to Dexter, Megan?" My sister asked after she joined me on the balcony of our assigned room.

I could see the boys having fun on the shore from where we were, and I smiled as our son joined his dad and uncles as they created sand castles; even if I couldn't hear them, I knew my husband teamed up with Axel and my father while Lennon, Cole and his boyfriend are on one team.

I am sure grandpa Henry would be the judge since he was only standing on the sideline watching them, and I could hear his laughter as I heard my husband's frustrated grunt when the water hit the sand and the big waves destroyed their castle.

"I am sorry, but I didn't know what really happened last night after he talked with Isabelle. I tried calling his phone, but it was off, and I know he was devastated because of what Hunter's sister had said to him." I replied.

"I understand that our brother was in pain since we both know Dexter had been waiting for that moment to be alone with the only woman he loved his entire life, but we couldn't blame Belle if she lost control too and could no longer stop her emotions as she blamed Dexter for what happened to them," I added.

"I felt sad for them," my sister responded as she let out a soft sigh.

"Me too, but you don't need to worry Ava; they are both in love with each other. I am sure they will find a way to reconnect with each other, and I could tell they both needed to lower their pride so that they can be together again." I said.

"I am sure it will take time, but I will try my best to help them. I will ask Dexter to show Isabelle she is the only woman in his heart." I added.

"At the same time, I have to convince Isabelle she needed to lower her pride and accept Dexter once again.

"I am afraid to experience that kind of thing, and it is better to stay single than to be in love and get hurt and suffer the pain for the rest of my life." My sister declared, and my eyes widened in shock as I stared at her, unable to utter a single word.

"I had seen how that stupid love consumed our brother, Dexter had been so lonely for a long time, and even if I was young back then, I could tell he was brokenhearted when he gave up his studies." My sister added, and it took me a long time to speak as I gaped at Ava.

"Ava, it is not like that," I answered, and she looked at me with a quizzical look on her face.

"How can you describe Dex's misery, Megan? And you can't deny you experienced the same

thing, and you chose to leave the only place you knew because of how broken you were when Ashton shattered your heart on the day he ended your relationship." My sister responded.

"Yes, I admit it was true that I was in pain, but you have to believe me; it was all worth it, Ava," I replied.

"You are still young, and you don't need to feel that way. Being in love is one of the most beautiful feelings one can have; you couldn't even describe it in words. I want you to embrace it when it comes to you, Ava." I added.

"Don't deny yourself with that kind of gratification since, after all, being in love is magical; there are billions of people worldwide, and it feels so amazing that there is only one person for you." I continued.

"Don't be afraid to experience love, Ava, because I am sure he was also out there waiting for the perfect moment that your world will collide with each other," I stated.

"You have to promise me that you will enjoy your life with the man you love in the future," I said as I looked at my sister.

"I don't know, Meg; maybe when it comes, that would be the time I will admit love is real, but for now, let me enjoy being single." She responded as she smiled at me.

"Okay, but I wish you would start dating again; you have to take a risk, Ava." I encouraged her, but she only shook her head.

We had a barbecue party as we celebrated the last night of our honeymoon, and we had so much fun. The music in the background makes me feel so alive, and I felt so happy as I was dancing with my husband on the sand with my mom and dad, grandpa Henry and grandma Sarah.

It felt so lovely to be in Ashton's arms while I could see the stars in the sky shining brightly on us. I could feel his strong arms on my body as he pulled me closer to him.

"I don't want to go home, Meg," Ashton murmured in my ear, and I could feel the goosebumps all over my skin.

"Me too, I wished to stay in this place forever with you and our family, but we need to come back home

or else we will lose our jobs," I replied, and my husband chuckled.

"You owned your business, my love; you can't fire yourself," he responded, and I smiled when he kissed my forehead.

I didn't know how long we were dancing on the shore until I realized the whole place turned quiet, and when I looked around, it dawned on me our families were no longer outside, and they all got back inside the vacation house.

I could feel the chilly air brushing my skin, and I felt glad my husband's arms were around me as we continued hugging each other until he took me down with him, and I sat on his lap while facing him.

The light coming from the cottages illuminated Ashton's handsome face, and the way he looked at me made me feel so weak, and I couldn't stop having butterflies in my stomach.

He caressed my face with his fingers without breaking eye contact with me, and I couldn't deny every touch of Ashton gave me a shiver, and I felt so hot all over my body as I found him staring at me with hunger on his face.

"Megan, whatever happens during our stay in our mansion in Astikoz, you have to promise me you will never give up on us, I love you and our son, and I want you to know I will do everything I can to protect you and Axel from anything even from my father." He declared.

"I promised, I love you too, Ashton, and I couldn't wait to be alone with you now," I replied, and his face lit up.

"I love that, Meg!" He responded with the same

eagerness, and when my husband kissed me, it felt like time stood still. I could feel my heart pounding against my chest as Ashton deepened our kiss.

I giggled when Ashton pulled me up with him, and he picked up and carried me inside, and it felt like we were still teenagers as he made his way to our room, and we spent the night making love until we both fell asleep.

I woke up the following morning with a beautiful smile on my face as I found Ashton staring at my face, and I hated that I couldn't control myself from feeling so conscious even if he became my husband now.

I couldn't stop from feeling excited every moment he was near me, and I loved the feeling every time I was in his arms.

"Good morning, my sunshine!" He mumbled as he tightened his arms around me.

"Good morning, my love," I shyly replied, and I kissed him on the lips.

We had an excellent breakfast with our family and left the resort with heavy hearts since we all wanted to stay and be with each other.

The days passed in a blur as we returned to our daily routines; my husband was busy running their company while I was busy meeting prospective clients as we planned to expand the company.

My husband is very supportive of every plan that I make for the success of my company. Ashton never fails to surprise me every day by sending me flowers and anything he can think of, and I admit, I am falling in love more with Ashton every day after he became my husband.

I couldn't stop feeling nervous when it was time for us to go home to Astikoz to spend time with his father together with his family. Axel was very excited, and I didn't know how to tell my son that his grandpa was not an ordinary man.

"Are you okay?" My husband whispered in my ear after we landed at Astikoz Airport.

"Yeah, I am fine, Ashton. I am excited to meet your dad and introduce him to Axel," I replied as I tried to hide my worries.

"Thank you, Meg, for doing this, I know how much you hated my dad for what he had done to us, and now, we are here in our hometown to show my father that we belonged to each other no matter how he tried to break us apart." He declared.

"You are welcome, Ashton. I am no longer afraid to face your dad. I am now your wife, and there is nothing he can do about it; I am sure you will always be my knight in shining armor, and when I am with you, I feel safe and secure." I responded and smiled when he took and kissed my hand.

We got off the private plane and proceeded to the vehicle waiting for us, and his siblings were already in Astikoz; they all came home ahead of us.

"Mom, do you think grandpa would be happy to see

me?" Axel asked, and I could feel my throat dry as I looked at my son and caressed his head.

"Of course, you are his only grandchild, and I am sure he was so excited to meet you Axel," I responded.

I hated lying to my son, but I didn't want Axel to hate his grandpa before he could even meet him, and I wished everything would go smoothly. I was hoping some miracle would happen and Ashton's dad would accept Axel and me as part of his family.

My husband replied, and my brother's face fell."I am sorry, but let us face it, if you will invite me, I will be bringing Monica with me. I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words. My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment.
