Chapter 8: Flickered

                   Night

“Hey! Can you tell me where are we heading at?” I tiredly blurted out. My knees were now wobbling and I can't also feel my feet anymore because of too much running. And then next happened was the thing I didn't expect the most.

I suddenly tripped as my face crashed on the muddy ground.

“Sh*t!” I shouted as I tried to arose from where I tripped. I quickly wiped the mud off on my face then sat down while looking at the bored face of Ciara.

“I already told you that I should have carried you at my back.” Ciara rolled her eyes.

I face palms myself at her suggestion then tried to stand again. But as I completely do so, Ciara suddenly lifted me like a newlywed bride then started to jump off from tree to tree as we are now in the middle of a forest?

Well, I am not sure as well – but what the f–

My eyes slowly widened as I was still in Ciara's arms, while she was jumping in the trees and running by her full speed at the same time. My heart suddenly accelerated as I can feel my body produced more sweats on my forehead as the gusting hot wind almost take my whole head away.

“To remind you, little girl. Villix might still be roaming anywhere looking for you. Honestly, I knew that you still haven't realized that it is already a life-death situation,” she suddenly said then partially lowered her head to looked at me. “If he found us, we are both dead, straight to hell.”

I mumbled a curse under my breath as I pierced my stare at her. “If I’ll die, I'll gladly accept it.” I mimicked a chuckle. “At least I am not going to hell.”

She suddenly looked at me then smirked. “I admire how you gladly accept it,” she said then turned her head into the way again. “I want to die too, but not to be killed by my father. I still need to survive to do my mission.” She heaved a deep sigh.

“I still can't die.” I heard her mumbled. She then looked at me again as she widened her eyes. “So don’t be a fragile one now.”

As she said that, the place suddenly became quiet that I can hear my heartbeats weirdly. I hardly swallowed the lump in my throat as I turned my head at the back to cover my face.

Honestly, their family is the weirdest. Their father wants to kill them, she and Killix.

I heaved a deep sigh.

I do also have a family, but we never think to kill each other. Well, maybe because they are vampires, and we are humans. Because as what I have heard, vampires are immortals, they will only die unless someone killed them, but I don't know in what way.

Wait, maybe one way of killing them is by my blood.

I sigh. It was still not sinking on me, this all d*mn happening in my life.

As I was still full of a train of thoughts, my eyes slowly widened as I suddenly felt struggles to breathe. I opened my mouth as I tried to grasp for more air. My chest started to become heavy like there is a huge stone above it.

Ciara suddenly looked at me with curiosity plastered all over her place.

I cursed under my breath then tried to smile at her. I bit my lower lip as my chest started to become heavier.

“D-d*mn p-put me down!” I shouted as my voice suddenly shaken. She promptly followed what I said as her face deteriorated more. She slowly gets down from the tree branch then gently placed me on the ground.

“What’s happening to you?” she worriedly asked but I chose to ignore her.

I held my chest so tight then raised my forefinger to point to the sun.

“H-hot,” I mumbled as I felt my body being grilled by the hotness of the sun. I nervously tried to fan myself using my palms but it just doesn’t help.

“I thought that you will gladly accept your death?” Ciara asked again that made me slowly turned at her while still gasping for air. “Then why are you trying to save yourself? Why not just die?”

My heart skipped a beat as my eyes slowly widened their selves while focusing on her annoyed face.

She's right. I just said that I will gladly accept it, but why am I still gasping for air instead of just doing nothing?

I breathe.

Maybe because I am still not ready to die. Just like Ciara, I still have to do my mission, to bring justice for my clan, so I can't die yet too.

But d*mn! What do I need to do to stop this?

“You have been dehydrated. Here, take my blood,” she said as she knelt in front of me. She cut her wrist using her claws then placed it on my lips. “Here, suck it then live.”

I closed my eyes as I hardly gulped. I looked at her blood that was currently oozing from her cut wrist.

I bit my lower lip to suppress the temptation but I just can't. I quickly sucked her blood but as it reaches my throat, I suddenly felt the urge to vomit that's why I instantly distanced myself from her then vomit her blood on the ground. It was like it was burning inside my throat.

My eyes widened as I felt the struggles to breathe more.

“D*mn,” I mumbled as I suddenly fell from sitting. My back hardly hit the ground as I was still gasping for air.

I heard Ciara mumbled a curse, then the next thing I knew was her face was already centimeters away from mine. I tried to shove her away but my feeble body can't even raise my arms.

“D*mn that Killix!” She bit her lower lip then unbelievably looked at me while I was turning pale because of lack of oxygen.

“He linked you to his self, your body will only take his blood.” She harshly rummaged her hair as she bit her lower lip. She promptly closed her eyes then pierced her gaze on me again.

“Then why the h*ll he just gave you to our father that easy that night?” I saw her stand up. I stomp my feet loudly to get her attention but she seems to be carried away by her rage.

I closed my eyes as I tightly clasp my chest. I was about to call her but she suddenly turned her head at me with an annoyed facial expression on her face, and while also having a psychotic smile at the same time.

“So in short, you are useless without my brother's blood. D*mn it!” she shouted then pulled my neck up until my feet aren't touching the ground anymore. She psychotically smirked from ear to ear which made my knees suddenly wobbled as well as my heartbeats getting faster forbidding me to breathe normally.

“C-Ciara? Y-you are getting i-insane! D*mn i-it!” I hardly shouted as I tried to free myself.

Yet, she suddenly throws me in one of the trees then hardly kicked my belly after. As her foot met my gut, I quickly felt my blood climbs above my throat then suddenly made me spitted it out from my mouth.

I closed my eyes as I took all my courage to whisper. “H-help me, C-Ciara.” I held my mouth to stop me from coughing blood but it won't just stop.

She smirked at me then harshly rummaged her charcoal black hair. She then kicked me again as blood kept on vomiting out of my mouth.

D*mn it!

I closed my eyes as I held my belly suppose to ease the pain but I just winced.

“Stop spitting that d*mn blood, Night! I'm going to drain that all later when you are already dead!”

Her scream made me suddenly froze. My heart skipped a beat as I looked at her face.

It was blank, dark, as well as her eyes were screaming rage by turning into glowing red and to black like a flickering damaged light bulb.

“Once something is useless, what are you going to do?” she asked which made me gulped multiples times. As her face was again closed to my face, the feeling suddenly felt nostalgic… like the night I fell from the building.

My gaze turned back their focus on her again as she began to grows her claw longer, then readied it to slice my neck. “Well, for me, I'm going to trash it.” She plastered a psychotic smile. “Why? Because it already needs to be gone.”

I forced myself to smile yet it was only plastered as a wry one. Warm liquid suddenly oozed from my eyes down to my checks.

So she doesn’t want to save me but rather used my blood.

Aaaahh!
