As they continued walking towards Ms. Wood's classroom, Hailey could feel the other woman's gaze fixed on her. It seemed skeptical and scrutinizing, as if she was having second thoughts about accepting Hailey. However, Hailey was unfazed. Despite inhabiting the body of a new adolescent, her mental prowess far exceeded her age. A teacher's piercing stare held no power to intimidate her.

Finally, Ms. Woods broke the silence, "I'm not a harsh person, but I must warn you beforehand. I have my own rules, and I expect them to be treated with importance. I hope you can integrate with your peers as quickly as possible."

Hailey nodded quietly and replied, "Yes, ma'am." It felt somewhat strange to address someone who was probably just a few years older, or even the same age, as 'ma'am.'

Ms. Woods pursed her lips and added, "Also, I do not take losses lightly, and I despise losing. Bringing you into my class is a kind of trial, and it may cost me the chance to win the teacher's cup this year."
