Chapter 7

Zayn shocked expression on hearing Fay tell him to shift away from her quickly cleared away as he tried to think of another way to get the stuck up Fay to get free with him.

Fay pulled her neckline from her neck and grimaced as it comes back to her skin like rubber. She's feels stuffy and held in, she have always hated this feeling. She threw a glance at Zayn and shrugged on seeing him staring broodingly at his drink. Maybe I was a little to harsh on him before, she thought before shrugging her shoulders again, who cares. She leaned against her chair and glanced at Amara again.

Amara is looking flustered and a little drunk but not too drunk. She likes letting loose and mingling with strangers like this, it's a trait she have since she could remember. He's very good looking and dark, since she started puberty, her fancy has always been in dark and tall men since she was fair and short. He obviously wants to do the dirty with her, she's not dumb, of course she understands when someone's really interested in her.

Fay looks at Amara weirdly as she tries to catch her attention to probably say something to her, but Amara seems pretty occupied to her.

"I'm never following Abu to anywhere again!" Fay muttered quietly under her breath as she pushed her chair back before pushing out of it and standing up.

"This is one of the most boring outing I've ever been on." Fay thought as she left the table.

'Look who's talking, did you do anything to make the table more lively? Instead you were pressing your phone throughout' her subconscious chipped in and Fay blocked the whiny voice out.

Abu made to stand up but she gestured for him to sit down back and not worry about her.

He raised a brow in a questioning manner and she nodded her head twice as she headed outside. Amara obviously too occupied with the fine guy by her side didn't even notice Fay absence.

Heading outside with her arms folded together, Fay walked slowly as she tries to avoid any contact with people. It proved useless as plenty people still mistakenly hit her as they walked passed her. Some managed to step on her toes, the drunken and stupid ones tried grabbing her but she rudely pushed them off. As she was almost stepping outside the sliding transparent door, she suddenly stops as she felt a hand slapped her butt.

Burning with rage, she turned around and hit the said person a hard slap on his face before pushing him hard in the process, throwing causes at him in rapid speed.

The culprit, obviously drunk stood up with wobbly legs and pushed Fay hard on the chest.

Fay with no strength to match the man's, falls backwards on the floor, her hand guiding her head from hitting the floor.

Throwing abuse and insults at the man, she pushed herself up and still tried to hit him again but a hand grabbed her by the waist.

Fay has never been the one to back down from a fight, be it an elderly person or someone her age. She would always say; 'It is better I cry, knowing I raised my hand to fight back instead of doing nothing and be bullied' She would always say this to her mum each time her mum fret over wounds and sores as a result of fights when she was still in secondary school.

She tried pulling the hand around her waist away to continue fighting but the hand tighten more securely around her.

"Go away, drunkard." The person holding her waist said to the drunkard who blankly looked from the person holding fay's waist to fay's angry face before saying.

"You! How much are you? I have money o!" He tucked his hands into his pockets and brought out fifty naira and hundred naira notes in twos. This man is sick. she thought.

"Are you mad? Do I look like a whore to you?" Fay angrily threw at the drunken man but he just laughed and showed her his hands with the hundred and fifty naira cupped in it.

Fay tried again to unhook the stranger's arm from her waist to give the drunkard another slap. Why won't this guy leave me alone? She angrily thought. At least leave me and beat this stupid man up for me instead of holding me down like a bomb about to explode.

"Let's just leave him alone, he's obviously drunk, alright?" The person holding her down said into her ear.

Of course, I know he's drunk, I'm not blind, she thought.

"Oh Kay, sure. I'll leave him alone. Can you too, let go of me now?" She asked as she looked around and glared at the people standing around, hoping for a continuation of the fight. Jobless, stupid people, Fay thought.

He let go of her and immediately like lighting, she hit the drunkard on his cheek so hard, her hands went numb first. The drunkard looked dazed and before he could have time to recover from the slight stupor, the stranger dragged her away from the drunkard all the way outside to her former destination.

Fay immediately pulled away from his hold the moment they stepped outside.

Suddenly feeling stupid for behaving like a girl with no class she turned to the stranger and stopped talking.

She tucked her hair behind her ears as she smoothen her gown again, leaning against the wall slightly hidden from the bright lights radiating off the bar.

She takes in his view. He's the dude she begged to queue before him in class today. The same dude that was checking her ass out. Why do he look more good looking now? She thought as she drinks in his looks.

"So, are you done fighting?" He asked as he laughed slightly, trying to start a conversation.

Obviously dude, she thought.

She nods her head slightly, not being in the mood to talk. The fight she had just now, coupled with the boring people at the table along with the wait she was put through just to get a bike. She so wasn't in the mood and she didn't even bother to hide it as she Stares at her foot, the stones on her left sandals gone. That stupid drunkard! Now even my sandals is ruined. She thought as his voice interrupted her train of Thoughts again.

Why did I agree to come here in the first place?

"So, what's your name?" He asked.

"Fay." She replied, slightly surprised, everyone knows her name in their department, and she means everybody. She's a very troublesome and loud person, so it always shows whenever she's absent from class. How he didn't know her name was beyond her.

"Nice, I'm Michael." He replied and smiled widely when she looked at his face.

"You have a very beautiful smile." She said and he mentally jumped up. At least she pays complements, he have always like bold ladies who pays complements to a guy.

"Oh really?" He asked as he smiled again.

She rolled her eyes as a small smile break through on her face.

"Don't let it get to your head, Michael." She added as she ran her fingers through her head.

"Never!" He replied.

"Yeah, right." She said back.

"So, are you going to school tomorrow?" She asked as she dug her hand inside her purse to bring  out her phone.

"Yeah, I am." He replied as he contemplated on how to ask for her contact. He likes her. Like really like like her and he wouldn't want her to slip out from his reach.

"So, can we see in school tomorrow?" He asked as he tapped his call log, ready to tap in her number the moment she says it out to him.

"Yup, we can. Why not? That's if I'm in a good mood tho, my moods gets so worse in school because majority of my course mates are goats and fools and they're always getting on my nerves." She finished and he take notes, he'll never like being on her bad side, he thought. That's a lot of strength, anger, rage and sarcasm in one body. He thought as he nodded his head.

"Cool! I hope you'll be in a good mood tomorrow then." He said with a smile.

"Nah, I doubt." She said and the both of them burst out laughing.

"You have a beautiful laugh." He compliments and she averted her gaze, tucking her hair behind her ears. She immediately composed herself and raised her head up again, pretending as if she didn't just blushed just now.

"So, you want my number, I presume?" Fay asked as she saw that it was already morning. It's past twelve. She wanted to get this over with and head home, she was already feeling sleepy and surprisingly wanted to talk to him again.

"Giving me your number wouldn't hurt, and besides I am supposed to call you ,if possibly we're gonna see tomorrow." He finished as he played off cool.

Fay finally gives him her contact and made to head back into the bar to get her friends...
