Elara's POV

I had gone all those weeks without seeing Nigel considering I told Sofia to make sure he was replaced. Sure, he wasn't exactly working for me, but it still felt like betrayal to have ratted me out to Alpha Moretti.

Seeing him after all those days almost brought tears to my eyes. I was walking out of my room with the new guard behind me and he was walking past me.

I saw him take a double look at me before catching what looked like guilt flash through his eyes. Without letting myself see anymore of it, I tore my gaze away and walked off.

“Luna,” I heard him call out and I stopped without turning back.

“I…I'm sorry,” he said apologetically.

I turned around sharply. “What for? For the man whose death you caused or what exactly are you sorry for, Nigel?”

He hung his head low in disappointment.

I clicked my tongue in irritation and disappeared down the hallway quickly.

I was on a mission and I wasn't going to let Nigel or anyone else for that matter, come in my way.

A voice whispering my name pulled me out of my deep slumber. Opening my eyes, I was immediately met with complete pitch darkness.“What the hell?” I whispered to myself. Whatever had made me pass out in the first place was still making me feel groggy. “Elara? Can you hear me?” The same voice asked, still whispering.I extended my hand so I could rub away whatever was blocking my vision but I was met with resistance. I tried again and heard a clinking sound.“Be careful, it's made of pure silver,” the voice said just as I pulled even harder and felt the chain dig into my flesh, burning me and forcing a cry out of my throat.“Giovanni?” I called out into the darkness as the recent activities started coming back to me. “Yes, I'm here. How do you feel? Are you hurt?” he asked. I tried to move my body but it appeared I was strapped to something, a bed maybe. “My wrist feels a bit sore but that's about it, I think I'm okay.”He sighed in relief. “I'm strapped down to a bed I think. Ca

Sandro's POVIt had been a hectic couple of weeks in Ombra Nera. We had new recruits that had recently joined the group but they were reckless, overly excited and had landed themselves in trouble with Don Carmelo's mafia. Now, I was back to giving my complete focus to my pack. We were in the process of expanding territory and I needed complete focus. A knock sounded on my door and I frowned. I wasn't expecting anyone and I also didn't summon anyone to my study. I ignored it, I expected them to leave after a while. Much to my surprise, the door cracked open and a head peeked inside. I raised a brow at the intrusion. “Sorry, the door was open,” Lisa's whiny voice said and she giggled, entering into my office. No, it wasn't. Lisa was one of those women who didn't understand what it meant to no longer be wanted. She was a fuck buddy for a while and wanted to me more, specifically, she wanted to be Luna.“What do you want, Lisa?” I asked with a sigh, already feeling a headache spread

A flower bloomed because of me.Wait, I'll rephrase that. I touched a flower bud and it fully bloomed three days later. All of the flower buds remained in their previous states as buds except that one. I had to cancel the training with Maria so I could stumble back into my room to think about what I had seen. The whole thing sounded bizarre even to me. There was no logical reasoning to explain how an immature flower bud bloomed into a flower in three days while the rest of the garden was still budding. And this happened only after I touched that one. I figured it was connected to the strange occurrences that happened with the lightbulbs and the lamp in my room weeks before. I didn't know what was happening to me. The only other person who knew about it at that time was Trevor and I didn't think having a heart-to-heart with my personal security was really the way to go. “What is happening to me, Makayla?” I asked in a whisper while I sat in the bathtub. I needed some explanatio

“Now, you keep that foot planted firmly on the ground, that would help steady your stance,” Maria instructed and I followed suit.I opened a wider gap between my legs on the ground and took a stance similar to the one she had shown me some minutes before.“Did I get it right this time?” I asked her with an expectant smile. She kissed her teeth. “I think we still need to work on it.”“I'll take that as a no then,” I groaned, returning back to a usual standing position and then plopping down to the ground. “Giving up so early?” She asked from above me.“No, just taking a well deserved break,” I replied, panting slightly. There was still one day left before Sofia was meant to return back to the pack and I was still bored out of my mind. I had asked Maria to teach me how to fight and luckily enough, she agreed. Although I knew she wouldn't say no to the Luna anyway. When she asked what my level of knowledge was and I replied none, she suggested I start with self defense and strength b

Sofia said not to freak out but for the next two days after we spoke, that was all I did. And she had picked the perfect period to travel for a five day trip. Five! Which meant I was left alone with my thoughts, which were very jumbled, if I may add. At least, I knew why Alpha Moretti came back for me. It made his threat slightly less threatening. He might be a terrible person but he was an amazing Alpha to his people and his pack. Still, I didn't want to do anything to cross him.The strange pair of eyes I had seen in my dream the other day was yet to make an appearance again. Probably because I now had something bigger to focus on.Sofia thought Makayla might be back. It sounded impossible and even a little stupid but I wished more than anything that it were true. Which was why I had been speaking to the silence in my head and almost been losing my mind in the process.“Mind if I help you with that?” I heard someone say from behind me, breaking me out of my daydream where I co

Unsurprisingly, Alpha Moretti ignored my question. He had Nigel drive me back to the pack house while he rode in the second car.Through the drive back, Nigel was quiet and so was I. He was a part of the mafia too and had seen what his Alpha don did to me. I was visibly shaken after watching the women get picked up by men who had the highest amount of money to pay for them.Women trafficking was a criminal offence and those people were involved in a crime. I had heard that things like that happen but I always guessed they were underground operations amongst criminals. Never did I expect to have been brought to watch women get auctioned to slimy rich assholes. “Are you alright, Luna?” I heard Nigel ask.It was then I realized I had been crying. Wiping away the tears furiously, I turned my head to the window so he couldn't see my face from the rear view mirror. “I'm fine,” I responded coldly.Lisa had mentioned something about me bringing life back into the pack and now, Alpha Mor
