LOGINSONYA'S POV
Reign's estate isn't a house. It's a freaking fortress.
It has stone walls. Iron gates. Security cameras everywhere.
The main building looks like someone crossed a modern mansion with a medieval castle and threw in a few million dollars for good measure.
"Oh shit," I breathe as the SUV pulls up the circular driveway.
"Like it?" Reign asks, watching my reaction with amusement.
"It's terrifying."
"Good. That's the point." He opens his door and extends a hand to help me out. "Welcome to Steel Kraith territory, little omega."
I ignore his hand and climb out myself, which makes him smirk. Asshole.
The front doors open before we reach them, and a woman in her fifties with kind eyes and graying hair steps out.
"Alpha Reign," she greets warmly with a bow, then turns to me. "And you must be Sonya. I'm Mrs. Wren, head of the household staff."
"Hi," I manage, feeling completely out of my depth.
"Mrs. Wren will show you to your room," Reign states. "Get settled. We'll have dinner at seven."
"My room?" I turn to him. "I thought…"
"You thought you'd be sharing mine?" His smile is wicked. "Not yet, little omega. I like to take my time with things I plan to keep."
My face burns as he walks away, leaving me standing there with Mrs. Wren, who's trying very hard not to smile.
"Don't mind him, dear," she says gently. "His bark is worse than his bite."
Somehow, I doubt that.

Mrs. Wren leads me through a maze of hallways until we reach a door on the third floor. When she opens it, I nearly fall over.
The room is huge. It has a king-size bed with silk sheets, walk-in closet that's already full of clothes, my clothes, plus a bunch of designer stuff I've never seen before.
It also has a bathroom with a tub big enough to swim in.
"Alpha Reign had your things brought over," Mrs. Wren explains. "And he took the liberty of... supplementing your wardrobe."
"He bought me clothes?"
"He's very particular about appearances." She moves to the windows, drawing back heavy curtains to reveal a view of the forest behind the estate. "Your room connects to his through that door." She points to a door I hadn't noticed. "It's locked from your side, of course. You control who comes in."
Small comfort.
"Dinner is at seven in the main dining room," Mrs. Wren continues. "If you need anything before then, just pick up the house phone. Extension three."
She bows politely and leaves, and I'm alone in this ridiculous room that's bigger than my entire apartment.
I pull out my phone and see three missed calls from Derek. Before I can call him back, a text comes through,
‘Derek:’ Reign paid off my debt. He said you're staying with him for a while for *protection.* What the hell is going on?
I stare at the message.
What do I say? That I sold myself to save his ass?
‘Me:’ It's complicated. I'll explain later.
‘Derek:’ Sonya, please tell me you didn't do something stupid.
Too late for that.
‘Me:’ I need to go. I'll call you tomorrow.
I silence my phone before he can respond and fall back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling.
Oh goddess.
What the hell have I done?
~~~
I spend an hour trying on different outfits before settling on a simple black dress that Reign apparently bought for me.
It's more fitted than I usually wear, but not obscene. Modest, almost.
Until I look at the back and realize it's completely open, showing every inch of my spine down to the curve of my lower back.
"Pervert," I mutter, but I don't change.
At exactly seven, I make my way downstairs following the sound of voices.
The dining room is massive, there's a long table that could seat twenty, crystal chandelier, paintings that probably cost more than my student loans.
Reign's already there, sitting at the head of the table. He's changed into dark slacks and a crisp white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, revealing those tattoos on his forearms.
He looks up when I enter, and his eyes go dark.
"Well," he says slowly, "don't you clean up nice."
"You bought the dress."
"I did. Though I didn't expect it to look that good." He stands, pulling out the chair to his right. "Sit."
It's not a request.
I sit, hyperaware of how close he is as he pushes my chair in. His hand brushes my bare back, and I shiver.
"Cold?" he murmurs, his breath warm against my ear.
"No."
"Liar."
He takes his seat, and Mrs. Wren appears with two other staff members carrying trays of food. Steak, roasted vegetables, fresh bread. It smells amazing, and my stomach reminds me I haven't eaten since this morning.
"So," Reign says as we're served, "tell me about yourself, Sonya Alba."
"What do you want to know?"
"Everything." He cuts into his steak. "Start with why you became a teacher."
I blink. That's not what I expected him to ask. "I like kids. And I'm good at it."
"What do you teach?"
"Third grade. Reading and writing mostly."
"Do you enjoy it?"
"Most days." I take a bite of my food, trying to figure out his angle. "Why do you care?"
"Because you're mine now. I make it my business to know everything about what belongs to me."
"I don't belong to you."
"The contract says otherwise." He leans back in his chair, watching me with those intense grey eyes. "Six months, Sonya. You agreed to be mine for six months. That means I get to know every little thing about you. Your favorite color. What makes you laugh. What makes you scared." His voice drops. "What makes you wet."
I nearly choke on my wine. "Oh goddess."
"Not quite." He smiles. "But I appreciate the comparison."
"You're insane."
"So you keep saying." He takes a sip of his own wine. "Your turn. Ask me something."
"Why are you doing this?"
"You'll have to be more specific."
"All of this." I gesture around us. "The contract. Paying Derek's debt. Me. What do you get out of it?"
Reign's face darkens, an edge of menace surfacing. "You really want to know?"
"Yes."
He sets down his glass and leans forward, his eyes locked on mine. "I want you, Sonya. I've wanted you since the moment I saw you hiding in those bushes, watching my brother with that pathetic longing in your eyes. I want to erase every thought of Derek from your mind. I want you to forget he exists. And I want to make you mine in every way that matters."
My heart is pounding. "That's not an answer."
"Sure it is." He stands, moving around the table until he's behind my chair. His hands settle on my bare shoulders, sliding slowly closer to my breasts, and I freeze. "You asked what I get out of this. I get you. And trust me, little omega, that's more than enough."
His thumbs trace circles on my skin, and goddess help me, it feels good.
"Why me?" I whisper.
"Because you're different." His lips brush the shell of my ear. "Because you walked into my life and threw everything off balance. And because when I touched you in my office this morning, I felt something I haven't felt in three years."
"What?"
"You'll find out soon."
SONYA'S POVI'm standing at the cabin's small stove in just a bra and panties, scrambling eggs and trying not to think too hard about the fact that my entire body is sore in the best possible way, when I hear a knock at the door.Reign's still asleep in the bedroom. We didn't exactly prioritize sleep last night, for very obvious reasons, so I grab his shirt off the back of the couch, pull it over my head, run my fingers through my hair, and pad to the door barefoot.I open it.My mom, Bridget, is standing there.And right beside her, looking slightly nervous and a little uncertain, is Selene.Oh goddess.My brain takes a second to catch up with what my eyes are seeing."Hi, sweetheart." Bridget's voice is careful, restrained, in the way it gets when she's working very hard not to cry or say something she'll regret. "Sorry to just… show up. We would've called but I wasn't sure you'd answer, and we needed to do this in person.""I… yeah." I step back, pulling the door open wider. "Come
SONYA'S POVReign doesn't start slow this time. He starts rough, snapping his hips into mine with a force that has the headboard knocking against the wall almost immediately, his grip on my thighs hard enough that I know I'll feel it tomorrow, and I welcome every single bit of it."You feel incredible," he growls, his pace brutal, relentless. "Tight and wet and exactly where you belong. Mine. All mine.""Yours," I gasp. "Fuck. Only yours.""Damn right." He changes angle, and the new position drags against that sensitive spot inside me that makes me see actual stars, my whole body locking up around him. "There it is. Right there, isn't it?""Yes… fuck, yes, right there…"He doesn't let up. He fucks me hard and fast, one hand braced beside my head, the other clutching my hip so tight I can feel his fingers pressing into the bruises he probably already left earlier from the paddle. Every thrust drags a sound out of me I don't recognize as my own voice, ragged and wrecked, every single ne
SONYA'S POVThe vibrator presses against my clit and the sound that tears out of my throat doesn't even feel like mine. It's too much and not enough at the same time, every single nerve in my body lighting up at once, and I'm right back at my breaking point in what feels like seconds, my hips bucking hard against the restraints."Reign…""Color?" he asks, even as he keeps the pressure steady, even as he watches me fall apart with what I can only assume is the smuggest expression on his face right now, not that I can see it."Green. F-fuck. So green. Please, I'm so close, I'm right there…"He pulls it away the second the words leave my mouth."No," I sob, my whole body protesting the loss. "You can't keep doing that to me…""I can. I will. As many times as I want tonight." Something cool drags along my inner thigh, his voice low and amused. "You don't get to come until I say so. I told you that already."He gives me a minute to catch my breath, his hand stroking soothing patterns over
SONYA'S POVI can't see anything, and somehow that makes everything else sharper. The cool air against my bare skin. The soft give of the leather cuffs around my wrists, just tight enough to remind me they're there. The sound of Reign moving around the bed, unhurried, like he's got all night and intends to use every single second of it on me.There's something strange happening in my chest while I lie here waiting. Not fear. The opposite of fear, actually. I keep thinking about Melvanie's facility, about being chained in a cell, about feeling my own body move against my will because some contract demanded it. And then I think about this, about choosing to put my wrists in his hands, about the fact that I could say one word right now and every single thing would stop. The difference is so massive it almost makes me want to cry. Almost. Mostly it just makes me want him more."I want you to understand something first," Reign says, his voice closer now, right above me. "This isn't Melv
REIGN'S POVI take Sonya's hand and lead her down the hallway.The door to the room is heavier than the rest of the cabin, solid wood, no windows. I built it that way on purpose. Soundproofed too, though after this morning's little pack gossip, courtesy of Landon, I'm starting to think soundproofing should've been priority one in the entire cabin.I push the door open and flip the light switch, and Sonya goes still beside me, taking it all in.The bed's bigger than the one in my main bedroom, solid wood frame with restraint points built into the headboard and footboard. There's a padded bench against one wall, a dresser with drawers I know the contents of by heart, and the flogger and paddle hang on a hook by the door, prominently visible, not hidden away like something shameful."Reign," she breathes, her eyes wide. "You built all this?""I had it built. I'm an Alpha, not a carpenter." I shut the door behind us, the click of the lock settling anticipation low and hungry in my chest.
SONYA'S POVThat night, I skip the pack celebration. Everyone's still talking about the trial, about Garrick getting dragged off and about Derek's banishment, but I've had enough of crowds and council halls and people staring at the mark on my neck like it's the most interesting thing in the world.Reign finds me sneaking out the back of the estate while everyone's still drinking and toasting."Going somewhere?" he asks, leaning against the doorframe with that smug grin he gets when he already knows the answer."I need a break from all this. Just for a bit.""Good. I had the same idea." He holds out his hand. "Come on."We walk through the woods in comfortable silence, my fingers laced with his, the noise from the celebration fading behind us until it's just crickets and our footsteps on the dirt path. After everything, the kidnapping, the trial, the chains, the screaming, it's strange how much I needed quiet. Just this. Just him.We end up at the lake.Our lake. The one where he firs
REIGN'S POVThe bullet hits Landon.My beta, my best friend, my brother in everything but blood, he takes the bullet meant for me and goes down hard."Landon!" I roar, catching him before he hits the ground.Blood. So much fucking blood."I'm okay," he gasps, but he's not. The bullet hit him in the
VANESSA'S POVI scream immediately, scrambling away from Hector as wood splinters across the room. Just then, a man steps through the wreckage, tall and dark-haired, with eyes that radiate violence.Everything about him screams danger.Oh goddess.Shit.It's Zane Rivers.What the hell is he doing
SONYA'S POVReign kisses me again, deeper this time, his hand sliding from my face to the back of my neck. His grip is possessive, dominant, and it makes heat pool between my thighs."Reign," I breathe against his lips."Do you want me to stop?" he murmurs, his other hand settling on my waist. "Tel
SONYA'S POVI'm in the shower when my phone rings.And of course it's Derek. Because the universe has a sick sense of humor.I wrap a towel around myself and answer, water still dripping from my hair. "Hello?""Finally." Derek sounds relieved. "I've been trying to reach you all day. Are you okay?"
