Chapter 14: The Future

9 years later…

Amanda laughed again as she and Laura tied a rope across the hallway. She enjoyed doing it a lot. She will tie the rope across the hallway and make the guards trip and fall. 

“Are they coming?” Laura asked her.

She looked and indeed saw three guards coming. “They are coming. Hide. Quick”, she said and took Laura’s hand so they could hide.

They stood in a corner and waited for the guards to come closer to the rope they tied. Laura put her hand on her mouth so her laugh will not be heard. “One…two…now”, she counted.

“Ahh”, the guards shouted as they tripped and fell on each other.

Amanda smiled and turned to give and high five to Laura. 

“Who is there?” they heard a guard say.

“Oops”, Amanda said. “Run!” she ordered and took the right while Laura ran through the left. She ran all the way to her mother’s room still laughing. “Serves them right”, she said and opened the door. Her mother was on the bed when she ente
