Chapter 4

Alpha Kaden POV

I’m sitting in my office with my twin sons Parker and Saint, My Mate Luna Mackenzie, along with the twins Beta Zion , My beta Nathan and his mate Beta Ainsley. Our daughters have 9th birthdays are coming up and it’s always an extravagant celebration. Me and all the guys just finished figuring out what foods will be having at the party when I get a strong feeling of fear coming from the family bond. The whole room comes to a stop telling me Im not the only one who felt it. I immediately shirt into my wolf Storm and run out of the pack house . I hear my beta and sons shift and run after me.

“I felt a strong feeling of fear from Saturn” I tell Zion in the mindlink

“I’ll stay here and watch the Luna and my mom keep us updated” Zion says.

“Thank you” is all I respond before I close the link.

I catch both of the girls scent on our north border and run faster . We run for about 4 miles before I catch 2 scents that smell familiar but I can’t quite place it. What I do know is those scents are very close to where my terrified daughter is. I look to my right and notice that my betas wolf Artemis has stopped in his tracks.

“What’s the issue Nathan?” I ask in the mindlink

“Alpha I know those scents. They smell way to familiar.” He responds causing my steps to falter for a moment.

“We get the girls and talk about this when we get back to the pack house” I say. We come through the treeline and see the girls cuddled up crying. I immediately shift and go to them.

“Girls what happened?” I asked “Saturn I felt your fear” I tell her.

She runs and jumps into my arms while treasure runs straight to her dad who is still in wolf form. He gets down on him belly and she immediately climbs onto his back.

“Daddy I’m almost died” Saturn says barely above a whisper but we all still heard it and every single one of us let out ear shattering growls at the thought of one of our princesses dying. I take a few seconds to calm myself and my wolf before I look down at my daughter.

“It’s okay now babygirl , you’re safe im going to set you down a shift so we can go home.” I say “do you want to ride on the back Storm, Blaze or Reign?” I ask her which makes her smile. “Storm daddy” she says causing me to smile at her.

“Okay babygirl anything for you” I tell her then I shift. Once I’m done Storm decides he needs to make sure his pup is okay before he lays on his belly to let Saturn climb on our back. Blaze and Reign flank me and Artemis as we take off running back home. When we get to the edge of the forest in our territory, we let the girls off our back so we can shift and put some clothes on.

Once we are dressed, Saint immediately picks up Saturn and Parker picks up Treasure they both hold the girls close as we walk the rest of the way to the pack house.

As soon as we get to my office, my mate and Beta, Nathan’s mate immediately rush to grab the girls and make sure they are okay. We take a moment to calm down and that’s when I ask Saturn “ baby girl what did you mean you almost died?”

“SHE ALMOST WHAT?” Luna, McKenzie and Beta Ainsley yell at once.

I get up and grab my mate and pull her into my lap to calm her down and my beta, Nathan does the same thing with his mate. Once the ladies have calmed down, I look at Saturn again who’s cuddled up with her brother Saint. He looked down at her with soft eyes.

“Princess tell us what happened please” he says in a soft, gentle voice.

Saturn stares at everybody and then looks to Treasure. Apparently they can talk without mindlink or speaking at all because after a few seconds Treasure looks at the rest of us and starts explaining what happened. Once we get the full story from the girls, the ladies take them to the kitchen, so they can go bake cookies that allows us men to talk about what we smelt near the cliff.

Parker is the first one to speak up “ am I crazy or did those scents at the cliff smell like aunt Ainsley”

“No nephew you’re not crazy at all” Nathan said. “ as soon as we walked back in this office I put two and two together.” He says

“ so what does this even mean?” Saint asks.

“ we have to send out a team see if we can figure out who those scents belong to or where they came from” “Parker, Saint, Zion. You three will be in charge of the team going out to search and figure out as much information as you can” I say and beta Nathan nods his head in agreement

“ it’ll be a great way for them to show that they are ready” he says

“ it’s a done deal then boys go to your office and figure it out when y’all have everything planned come and let us know”

“Yes Alpha” the boys say in unison and head out to their office.

“ Nathan, why do I feel like everything is about to change?” I say to my beta.

“Honestly Kaden I don’t know what it is, but I feel it too”
