Chapter 5

Lyrics POV

It’s been a week since the twins saved that little girl’s life. I’ve gone up scouting multiple times and each time I smell wolves in the area of the cliffs. The twins are pissed because I refuse to let them go on runs and tell them I know it’s safe. We have been doing extra workouts and laps within the shield. I refuse to let my siblings suffer, the same fate that our parents did.

I’m getting dressed and getting ready to go scout again in hopes that the wolves haven’t been by again when I hear Luca running up the stairs, calling my name.

“Queen , QUEEN, come downstairs now it’s important” Nadia yells from downstairs at the same time Luca runs into my room out of breath.

Gasp “wolves” gasp “shield” gasp “now” is all he gets out before I teleport myself to the front yard where the were just training .

“Western border” Nadia says as she walks up to me.

I run around the house and stop in my tracks when I see two massive black wolves standing at at least 8 feet tall on all fours. They look exactly alike, except one has green eyes and one has blue. Next to them is a smaller gray wolf with silver eyes that look exactly like mine. Surrounding them is at least another 10 wolves, and they all seem to be sniffing around our shield. It was in that moment that I knew I had to get the twins into the bunker.

“Princess, Prince, I need y’all to teleport to the bunker NOW” I say.

“Fuck no” they yell in unison

“watch your fucking language” I say.

“Get to the bunker now because if I have to knock y’all out and take y’all there, I’m not going to be happy” I snap.

Which makes them listen because I never snap at them but this is a life or death situation and I refuse to watch the die like I did my dad. “Go now I love you two” I say and open a portal to the bunker for them.

The bunker has no doors or windows only a few pockets for air flow. I did it on purpose so nobody can find it. Both of the twins hug and give me a kiss before they step through the portal. Once they go through, I close the portal and walk to the western border and stand right in front of the wolves. The twins are going to be pissed when they realize what I’m doing but I need to get these wolves away from our home until we can leave.

The black wolves seem to be staring straight at me but I know they can’t see me through the shield. I fell a pull to them and I don’t understand why but I know I can’t focus on that. I stare at them for a moment longer before I take a deep breath and teleport myself and 50 feet behind the farthest wolf from our border.

“Awwww did the big bad wolves come to play?” I giggle with my hands on my hips causing them all to turn around at once to stare at me in shock. They start to charge at me so I teleport myself up into the trees above me.

“Hey dogs I’m up here” I say while laughing which makes them growl. I notice that the black wolves and the grey one haven’t moved from their spots and they are just staring. “Weird” I think to myself.

“Awww don’t growl fellas how about we play a game? It’s like fetch but we call it tag . Y’all are it” I say before I teleport back to the ground and flick my wrist in a circle and allow myself to be picked up by a small tornado.

“Catch me if you can fellas” I say, as I push the tornado forward . It seems that my small tornado is what really caught their attention because that’s when all of the wolves take off running after me after a couple minutes of riding my little tornado I put myself back on the ground and wait for the little wolves to catch up. I’m bored so I figured I might as well make a game out of this.

The first wolves to find me are the two black wolves that were closest to my shield, followed by the smaller gray wolf. Once the rest catch up, they circle me assuming that they have me trapped. I can’t help but laugh. Which causes the two black wolves to turn their head to the side like I’m crazy.

“ what’s wrong boys never seen a witch before?” I giggle which apparently pisses off one of the wolves behind me because I hear him lunge at me but not before teleporting myself into the trees above us making me laugh as he face plants in the dirt where I was just standing. I get comfortable on a thicker branch in the tree and snapped my fingers causing a blanket and pillow to appear.

“ y’all have fun down there. I’ll be up here when you’re ready to talk.” I yelled down to the wolves that have now circled the tree I’m in.

I do a light whistle, knowing that squiggles will hear me and she’ll be here soon. After about five minutes, she comes running from another tree straight into my lap.

“ hey pretty girl I need you to go tell the twins that I will be back soon but it’s safe for them to come out” I tell her

“Okay Queen be careful with the wolves” she says and I opened a small portal so she could go right back into our shield.

I looked down and see that while I was talking with squiggles the gray wolf is gone and there’s a human in his spot. I freeze in my place when I realized that this boy looks a lot like me and my siblings and it seems he thinks the same thing because he is staring at me with genuine curiosity. I don’t know what it is, but I have a feeling our lives just changed and I don’t know whether it’s for the good or bad.
