After a few moments, Eli gently disengaged himself from Caly's arms, walking over to the table, and picking up the folder Caly dropped. “I’m ok, I’ve dealt with it, I was going to a therapist for a while after, but she said I have made great progress, so I only have to go once a month now,” he said casually shrugging his shoulders, as if everything was fine. Caly could still see the shadows in his eyes though of what he witnessed. The attack left a huge mark on him, more so than he was letting on, or willing to admit to her. She thought, how could it not? That would’ve left a mark on anyone. She let it go for now but made a mental note to revisit it later and try talking to him more about it.

“So, this, this green-eyed black wolf? Do we have any idea who it is? This is the first report that I have seen with him in it,” she asked changing the subject, and her train of thought.

    The whole ride back to Everwood’s was scattered with rain, by the time Xander reached the barn he was soaked through. His black shirt and jeans were plastered to his body clinging to him like a very uncomfortable second skin. He reached the barn and saddled up a pretty mare named Gia, grabbed a rain slicker off the hook, mounted up, and headed towards the pasture to bring the horses in. As he reached the middle of the pasture, he saw three horses huddled together. He noticed two other riders surrounding them and readying their ropes to lasso the horses. He watched as they released their ropes, catching two of the horses. The third, a white mare, broke off to the right spooked when a loud clap of thunder boomed overhead. He watched the two riders calm the horses, then one handed off their rope to the other so they could tie off both horses to one saddle. He told me to go get Xander and Cody as he raced off. Cody was just pulling up when I let him know and he followed behind Mr. Tate. I went to get Xander but there was no sign of him, as I went by the pastures the rest of the horses were still out and grazing. Anyways, everybody else is too drunk from the party to help, so, I need your help to bring the rest of the horses in before they bolt as well from the storm, it’s getting bad out there.” He let out an exasperated
