In order to reach the Everwood compound, everyone has to go through the town of Carrington. Carrington is located centrally between all three territories in the area. To the North is the Everwood Pack’s territory, to the South is Blackthorn territory, and to the West was Vale Den territory. Every year one pack would host the Twelves Celebration. Both humans and werewolves alike went to Carrington due to it being the only town around for miles. The South gate was the gate between the beginning of Everwood territory and that of the human territory. There were still several miles of woods between the main gate of the Everwood Compound and the South gate, at the bottom of the mountain. In wolf form the distance can be covered  within a few hours. .

Very few humans know about the packs, those that do have either sworn their loyalty to a pack or have become Hunters trying to “put down those mangey beasts."  There is a small sect of werewolves that are Hunters as well, this sect is very secretive, it can be very dangerous if any other werewolves find out that they kill their own for sport or power. The few who are part of the Hunters organization are called Rogue Hunters, they are identified by a small black crescent moon tattooed on their bodies somewhere. This tattoo uses a specialized formula of ink that allows the tattoo to show up on their wolf form even when they transform.

Jaxon, Garrett, and Derrik all headed out the front door, wondering what they would encounter at the South Gate. As the group got ready to change into their wolf forms, Jaxson said, “Before we head towards the South gate, we need to mind link so we can communicate with each-other. I have already linked up with Bastian, since I sent him ahead of us before I let father know what was going on. Remember, Garrett, if there is a problem you are not to get in the thick of it, your job is to observe and report back to father. Understood?”

“Yeah, I got it.”

They changed and mind linked as soon as they exited the main gate of the compound. Jaxson was a large brown wolf, with blue eyes, of all the brother’s he was the largest, almost as large as their father. Garrett’s coat was a smoky grey color with black marks on his chest, tail and paws, and blue eyes, like all the Everwood children. He was about half the size of Jax. Derrick’s coat was a light tan color with deep brown undertones, and eyes. They proceeded to race towards the South Gate.

“Any update from Bastian, Jax?” Derrick questioned.

“No, nothing yet, he is unusually quiet, he should’ve arrived by now.”

“Are you worried?” Garrett asked.

“Not quite yet, he may have had to handle something as soon as he got there, he will update me when he can,” Jax said trying to keep the worry out of his mind’s voice.

“Jax! We have a situation here. Some Rogue Hunters are trying to get into the party, they are beginning to get agitated. They say they are not here to cause any problems and just want to celebrate with the twelves,” Bastian’s voice came over the mind link.

“Do you know what pack they tried to sneak in with?” Jax asked.

“The Blackthorns.”

“Figures. Which ones?”

“Jebidiah, Viktor, and Iliana. They tried to hide in the trailer they brought.”

“If they are not here to cause problems, why try and sneak in?”

“They claim they knew if they came just as themselves, they wouldn’t be allowed in.”

“Don’t let them through, I will be there in 10.”

Jax addressed his small group through the mind link, “We will be at the South gate in 10 minutes, some Rogue Hunters tried to sneak in with the Blackthorns. When we get there, Derrik I want you to come in on the left, I’ll go in on the right, we will corral them in between us and Bastian. Garrett stays back, understood? If I need your help, I’ll tell you.” All of a sudden, they heard what sounded like several small explosions at the gate. Jaxon could feel his mind link with Bastian interrupted.

"What the hell was that?! Bastian! Do you read? Bastian?” Jaxson called out to him with his mind. “Hurry up guys! I lost my link with Bastian!” They all sped up, within a few minutes they had crossed the last line of trees between them and the South Gate.

After several songs, with the two of them dancing for what felt like forever, Caly let Naomi know she was going to go get a drink and asked if she needed anything. Naomi said she didn’t and continued to dance as Caly walked away. As she approached the bar, she ordered water and a coke, quickly downing the water. She popped the top on the coke, and turned around, watching everyone enjoy themselves. Naomi was shaking her ass as usual on the dance floor surrounded by a few guys, and a few of their acquaintances from school. Some things never change, she smiled to herself. Her dad and Seraphina were sitting at a table watching everyone, Seraphina had six different plates in front of her piled with a variety of foods on them, that woman sure could eat, even before she was pregnant. She noticed her brothers Garrett, Braxton, and Eli come into the ballroom with both Mary-Anne and Tammy. Right behind them were Cody and his girlfriend Brandy. They had just started dating a few months ago, but

As Calypso descended the stairs it felt like de-ja-vu, from six years ago, except her mother wasn’t at the bottom of the stairs to greet her. She made a promise to try and enjoy herself tonight. She wore a royal blue, off the shoulder dress, with an interlocking lace and beaded bodice. The sleeves were three-fourths down her arms and opened wide at the ends. The dress hugged her curves in all the right places and slightly flared as it stopped a few inches above her knees. She had on a pair of silver, strappy stilettos and her white gold locket and leather cuff on her wrist, even though it didn’t really match her dress. As she walked into the ballroom, she noticed that Seraphina and her father went all out this year, or maybe she just hadn’t noticed the beauty and effort that they have tried to put into her parties over the years. It was as if she was looking at everything with new eyes. There were beautiful white fairy lights hung all over the ballroom, and small crystal chains hangin

“Leaving so soon handsome?” said a voice sexily as a busty blonde approached the table and ran her hand across his shoulder and down his arm, enticingly. “I was hoping you’d have a drink with me, and we could get to know each other a lil better,” she pouted confidently and prettily, knowing full well how to get a man’s attention, and keep it. She winked at him and leaned on the table giving him an ample view of her cleavage in a hot pink, lowcut, halter top. “Really Tammy? You know you don’t have to throw yourself at every new face that comes into town, like a lapdog,” Garrett said with derision as he rolled his eyes.“Well, that’s just rude as hell, Garrett Everwood!” scolded a petite, freckled face, five foot nothing, redheaded woman. As she approached the table, she stared daggers at Garrett. “You know it’s true Mary-Anne, she does it all the time!” Garrett defended himself. “I do not,” Tammy whined, “I can’t help it if I am drawn to this strong, handsome, fella here, who looks like

Six years ago….“You think you can do this?” Garrett asked him nervously. “Cause if we get in trouble and loose this money, my mom will kill me.”“I got it, don’t worry. We will walk away with more than we came in with,” was his response.“You are positive,” Garrett questioned again.“Yes, chill out,” he looked at his cards in his hands again and looked across the table at Braxton, Garrett’s older brother, and said, “All in,” adding the last of their combined money to the pot.“All in,” Braxton responded. Then laid his cards down first, “Full house,” he laughed, and began reaching for the pot.“Wow, that is a great hand, but…….” He said as he laid his cards down, “It doesn’t beat a four of a kind, aces high,” he showed off all four of his aces.“Damnit! Shit! Fuck! What the hell man!” came Braxton’s response followed by a slew of even more curse words. Garrett was whooping and hollering and patting him on the back. “Way to go man! That was awesome!“Boys!” came Mrs. Everwood’s voice f

Xander finished getting the last of his supplies and groceries at the store in Carrington. He made sure to put the perishables in the large electric cooler he always kept in his truck. He was just about to pull out a beer when he decided against it and chose to go find a bar instead. After his conversation he had with Jeb earlier when he had told him about the cabin in the woods, he needed a drink. Jeb’s response to him was, “We’ve known about it for years, and he was just waiting on his contact to reveal the location.” This pissed Xander off, because he thought he had gained some intel, but all he had was shit according to Jeb. I must get into that cabin, he thought, and get some sort of intel for Jeb that was more useful than just knowing about the cabin. He had planned on getting close to the Everwood’s first, but if he could just get into the cabin, he might find enough intel where he could finish this job much quicker than anticipated. He looked around and noticed the Blue Moon

“Eli! Wait!” Caly yelled running outside, but he was already gone. “I’m sorry!” she yelled into the woods, then she turned around at a loss, and headed back inside. She began to clean everything up and returned the reports to their rightful place. “Wow Rae! Eli has never talked to me like that before!”“He does have a point though,” she responded gently.“I know it has been six years, I can never forget. It is so hard to just ‘move on’ like he said. I can’t just ‘move on,” Caly said exasperated.“Why?” Rae questioned.“Because it is my fault Rae! You know that!” Caly burst out.“No, I don’t know that. In fact, I don’t see how it could’ve been your fault. Did you attack and kill your mom? No. Did you know that this was going to happen? No. Did you know that you were going to get hit over the head and dragged off? No. Did you know your mom would come looking for you? No. Did you know that you weren’t going to walk right back up to Ryker and the party because nothing would have happened?
