In order to reach the Everwood compound, everyone has to go through the town of Carrington. Carrington is located centrally between all three territories in the area. To the North is the Everwood Pack’s territory, to the South is Blackthorn territory, and to the West was Vale Den territory. Every year one pack would host the Twelves Celebration. Both humans and werewolves alike went to Carrington due to it being the only town around for miles. The South gate was the gate between the beginning of Everwood territory and that of the human territory. There were still several miles of woods between the main gate of the Everwood Compound and the South gate, at the bottom of the mountain. In wolf form the distance can be covered within a few hours. .
Very few humans know about the packs, those that do have either sworn their loyalty to a pack or have become Hunters trying to “put down those mangey beasts." There is a small sect of werewolves that are Hunters as well, this sect is very secretive, it can be very dangerous if any other werewolves find out that they kill their own for sport or power. The few who are part of the Hunters organization are called Rogue Hunters, they are identified by a small black crescent moon tattooed on their bodies somewhere. This tattoo uses a specialized formula of ink that allows the tattoo to show up on their wolf form even when they transform.
Jaxon, Garrett, and Derrik all headed out the front door, wondering what they would encounter at the South Gate. As the group got ready to change into their wolf forms, Jaxson said, “Before we head towards the South gate, we need to mind link so we can communicate with each-other. I have already linked up with Bastian, since I sent him ahead of us before I let father know what was going on. Remember, Garrett, if there is a problem you are not to get in the thick of it, your job is to observe and report back to father. Understood?”
“Yeah, I got it.”They changed and mind linked as soon as they exited the main gate of the compound. Jaxson was a large brown wolf, with blue eyes, of all the brother’s he was the largest, almost as large as their father. Garrett’s coat was a smoky grey color with black marks on his chest, tail and paws, and blue eyes, like all the Everwood children. He was about half the size of Jax. Derrick’s coat was a light tan color with deep brown undertones, and eyes. They proceeded to race towards the South Gate.
“Any update from Bastian, Jax?” Derrick questioned.“No, nothing yet, he is unusually quiet, he should’ve arrived by now.”“Are you worried?” Garrett asked.“Not quite yet, he may have had to handle something as soon as he got there, he will update me when he can,” Jax said trying to keep the worry out of his mind’s voice.“Jax! We have a situation here. Some Rogue Hunters are trying to get into the party, they are beginning to get agitated. They say they are not here to cause any problems and just want to celebrate with the twelves,” Bastian’s voice came over the mind link.“Do you know what pack they tried to sneak in with?” Jax asked.“The Blackthorns.”“Figures. Which ones?”“Jebidiah, Viktor, and Iliana. They tried to hide in the trailer they brought.”“If they are not here to cause problems, why try and sneak in?”“They claim they knew if they came just as themselves, they wouldn’t be allowed in.” “Don’t let them through, I will be there in 10.” Jax addressed his small group through the mind link, “We will be at the South gate in 10 minutes, some Rogue Hunters tried to sneak in with the Blackthorns. When we get there, Derrik I want you to come in on the left, I’ll go in on the right, we will corral them in between us and Bastian. Garrett stays back, understood? If I need your help, I’ll tell you.” All of a sudden, they heard what sounded like several small explosions at the gate. Jaxon could feel his mind link with Bastian interrupted."What the hell was that?! Bastian! Do you read? Bastian?” Jaxson called out to him with his mind. “Hurry up guys! I lost my link with Bastian!” They all sped up, within a few minutes they had crossed the last line of trees between them and the South Gate.
It seemed like they sat there forever on the ground, just holding her and letting her cry hard within their arms. She finally lifted her head and took a few deep breathes to get herself under control and looked at both her brother’s and giggled.“I guess Dr. Whitworth, my therapist, would say that this is a breakthrough,” they all chuckled a little bit, releasing the tension of the moment.Jaxson lifted her chin and looked her straight in the eyes, “We’re sorry. We thought we were protecting you from more hurt and pain, I see now we weren’t. I’ll talk to dad, and from now on, we will include you in the loop. But you have to be very careful, this is very dangerous. You cannot tell anyone, not even Naomi, we don’t need anyone else involved. Do you understand?”“I do and thank you for involving me. I want to help any way I can, just like Rochelle.” Caly assured her brother.“Dad won’t like it, one bit, but I am pretty sure he will accept my decision on the matter as the soon-to-be Alpha.
Present Day: Everwood Territory.........Calypso was brought back to the present by a loud thunderclap. When did the sky get so dark? It doesn’t matter, I don’t have time for this. It better not rain before I find Eli, Caly thought.“Good luck with that,” Rae said in her mind.Caly quickly transformed into her beautiful white wolf and raced towards the Northern gate, being careful to avoid any guards she could possibly came across. As she crept up to the gate, it began to rain. Great, she thought, just what I needed. “Well, at least they won’t smell us coming,” she said to Rae.She quietly walked towards the left side of the gate into the bushes. She was still surprised that her father and brothers hadn’t found the hole that had been dug under the wall, after all these years. You’d think they would’ve found it during the many perimeters checked that they have done over the years, but, no, no one knew about it except her. She crawled under the wall and heard her brothers Jaxson and El
He was nearing the back door to escape, as his sister's devastated eyes, and whispered recognition ran through his mind. Fuck, he thought, she will never forgive me. He was tormented by the thought of losing his sister, he didn't want to admit it, but deep down a small part of him hoped that once everything was said and done, and Jebidiah Blackthorn and th eRouge Hunter's were destroyed, maybe he might be able to come back and have some sort of relationship with his sister. That miniscule hope died instantly. He wasnt' paying attention as the thoughts were running through his mind. He ran into a golden-brown wolf with sharp blue eyes, coming in the back door. Both wolves squared off, Shadow, and the light brown one, which was a bit smaller than him. He though, this will be an easy kill, I have to make this quick and get out of here. He let Shadow take over again and got lost in the blood rage. The rage at his father, the hurt, horror, and sadness in his sister’s eyes, as well as his
“What the fuck is Rochelle doing here father?” Ryker sent over the mind link pissed. His father’s laugh sounded maniacal, “Oh, so you saw her, did you? I had hoped you wouldn’t run into her, but it was a risk I was willing to take for you to make an example of the LaCroix pack. You better not have let her know you were there,” his father said menacingly.“No, I didn’t. I’m not an idiot and this isn’t my first mission.”“Good to know, now finish the job.”“Not until you answer some questions first,” Ryker responded angrily.“You are in no position to make demands son.”“Actually Father,” he sneered, “I am. Especially since you know I am the only one who can get this job done, and I could walk away right now, or go to the Everwood’s and tell them everything. It would make it a lot easier for me, since they are here now,” Ryker said threateningly.“Don’t play with fire boy, you might get burned,” Jeb stated dangerously and with an underlying sense of warning. “Who is the father or Rochel
LaCroix Territory: Present Day......As she turned the water off from her shower, Rochelle thought about Zayn and how far they had come within the past two years since they had been married. It is a far cry from when she first arrived in the pack at the tender age of sixteen. She hated her father, she hated Zayn, and she hated everyone who had put her in that situation. Zayn had been surprisingly kind to her and understood her hate for him, he gave her time, never pushed her for anything more, and just let her be. He was very patient with her, which made her respect him a little more and start to think that maybe he wasn’t as bad as her father. Rochelle smiled and gently rubbed her small baby bump as she looked at herself in the mirror. Her and Zayn had grown to love each other and were ecstatic about the baby. She thought about Zayn’s meeting tonight with the Everwood’s and hoped and prayed to the Moon Goddess it all went according to plan. They were taking a giant risk with this m
LaCroix Territory: Two Years AgoShe was sitting in the garden room with Zayn’s mom Camellia, and she was talking about the wedding and what the plans were. Camellia was asking Rochelle what she thought about the fabric, decorations, caterers and all sorts of things that had to do with a wedding, which she didnt want anything to do with. How could she be happy, and plan a wedding she wanted no part of and was forced into? Camellia asked, “Rochelle are you even listening? The wedding is in 6 months, and you have barely picked anything out for it.”“I don’t care about this wedding, pick whatever you want, I don’t want anything to do with it. I never chose this and I’m sorry, but I don’t love your son. Sure, he has been kind to me given the crappy circumstances, but I can’t be excited or happy about something I was forced into doing.” Camellia’s face softened with understanding, “I’m sorry you were forced into this situation, believe me, if I could have it any other way I would. I want
