FAZER LOGINMeanwhile, as Travis was in the kitchen, he heard Caly yell and he decided to go and see if she was ok. “Be back in a sec, Eli,” he said. Travis walked into the hallway and he saw her stomping down the hallway, muttering to herself, unaware of him watching her. He watched her for another minute, she looked really pretty in her light blue dress, and kinda cute all angry and stuff. Her auburn hair was pulled back out of her face, with a braided crown wrapped around the top of her head, she had tiny wisps of hair falling gently out of the braid, and smaller braids hanging down into her hair that wasn’t pinned up. Wow, she looks really pretty and grown up today. “Hey Caly, you, ok?” Travis asked just outside the kitchen.
“Oh, um, hi, Travis, I’m, uhh fine” --she stuttered both nervously and excitedly-- “It’s just Garrett and his stupid friend Ryker keep calling me a cub. I’m not, you know, today is my birthday, and I turn twelve.” “Yeah, I know, Cal, who do you think this big ole party is for, huh?” he teased her. “I wonder!” she laughed, and he joined in with her. As they were laughing, he kept getting distracted by how pretty she looked while they were talking. Suddenly he stopped laughing and continued to look down at her. She looked up to him and saw that he had a strange look upon his face. Wow, she is so beautiful, he thought. The way she is laughing, with the sunlight streaming through the window highlighting the red and blonde strands in her hair and accentuating and reflecting in her baby blue eyes. Wow. Just Wow. I’ve never felt this way before. “Rocky, could she be my mate?” he silently asked his wolf. “Is she the one?”“I’m not sure,” Rocky responded. “She is very beautiful, and there is no denying some sort of connection, but I can’t be sure.”“Eli will not be happy about this, she’s his little sister.”“That she is Travis, so, if she is your mate, it will be a delicate situation to address.”“I know.” Caly began to worry, awkwardly looked down at her feet. “Did I say something wrong? Is there something on my face or in my hair?” She reached up and touched her hair nervously. “Rae! Help! What’s wrong?” “Nothing. I think he likes you.”“Really? You think so? Please don’t play with my emotions right now.”“Yep, I surely do. There is definitely something about him that I like.”“Me too!” “Umm, is everything ok Travis?” came Caly’s quiet and unsure voice through the haze. He looked down at her and she was staring at her shoe, shuffling her feet. She very carefully and nervously looked up at him with uncertainty and questions in her eyes. He wanted to grab her and hug her, maybe even kiss her cheek to take away all that uncertainty. “Umm, yeah, I’m uh, fine Caly, I just...um…. you just….uhh,”--he stuttered, then quickly added,-- “you look really pretty in that dress.” Then he ran off towards the kitchen embarrassed. As he rushed into the kitchen, Eli was still at the breakfast nook helping Ardie eat. He ran to the door, “Uhhh, I gotta go Eli, I forgot, I...um… forgot to do something for my mom. I’ll see you tonight, maybe. Give Caly my gift for her on the table please, thanks.” “Yeah, sure, but….” Eli responded, at a loss, but Travis was already out the door. “Wait…. what….?” Caly thought as Travis ran off towards the kitchen. “Rae! Did he just say I was pretty?” Caly could feel Rae’s approval. “Yes, I believe he did.” “Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, what do I do?” “Go after him, silly!” “Right, ok!” She raced off to follow him, “Travis, hey Travis, wait.” She rushed into the kitchen and saw only Ardie and Eli looking confused. As soon as Ardie saw Caly, he toddled over to her, “Cal, Cal, Cal! Up, up, up!” he yelled excitedly. She picked up her two-year-old brother and gave him a big hug, then she blew raspberries on his neck, and he giggled loudly. After he quieted down, she put him down and asked Eli, “Where’s Travis?” “All of a sudden he ran out of here in a huge hurry and he said he forgot to do something for his mom.” “Oh,” Caly said sadly. “What in the world is going on with you two?” he exclaimed. “First, Travis runs out of the house like a maniac, and tells me to give you his present. Then you run in here like a maniac too, asking about him and where he is. What the heck is going on?” “Wait, he said he had a present for me? Well, where is it?” “Over there on the table,” he pointed and looked at her as if she had grown a second head. Caly rushed over to the table and saw a beautifully hand-carved wooden jewelry box detailed with a large rose in the middle of the lid and four tiny roses along the corners, connected by thorns, vines, and leaves. She gently opened the lid and inside was a single yellow rose, a beautiful corsage with roses and baby’s breath pinned in it, and a handwritten note. The note read,Here’s a single rose for the prettiest girl I know, and a corsage I hope you will wear at the party tonight when we have our first dance. Happy Birthday Calypso, I hope you enjoy the jewelry box. Use it to keep all your things in, that are just as beautiful as you!
-TravisCaly’s heart skipped a beat, she read, and re-read the note three times to make sure she didn’t miss anything. “He really does like me, Rae! I can’t believe this! Travis Barnes likes me like I like him!” she screamed ecstatically in her head. “I can’t wait to see him tonight; I might even have my first kiss too! This is the best birthday ever!
“Okay, okay, slow down Caly, don’t get ahead of yourself. You don’t need to be thinking about kisses right now.” Rae chided. “I can’t help it Rae, I am over the moon happy!”She rushed towards him excitedly, forgetting her anger for the moment, “You found him!”“I did,” he smiled. As she reached for the rope quickly, Lightning sidestepped, and reared, spooked by her fast movement. “Whoa there boy!” He said dropping the reigns of his horse, and grabbing at the rope with both hands, trying to gain control of Lightning. Calypso stopped immediately, seeing that she made one of the stupidest mistakes she could when handling horses, and watched as his shoulder and arm muscles bunched in his T-shirt as he used all his strength to hang on to the rope. “Shhh, shhh, shh, it’s ok boy, whoa, calm down!” He lowered his tone and gently put his hand on Lightning’s neck trying to calm him. She watched as he gained control and whispered into the horse’s ear, “It’s ok, she won’t hurt ya. Shh, shh, shh.” Lightning immediately calmed down, as he gently stroked the horse’s neck. Terrible things went through her mind as she watched him stroke the horse’s neck, things about oth
Calypso awoke with a start as the tail end of a nightmare ended. She was at a warehouse and no one else was around, she was confused as to how she had gotten there. In the dream she was fighting the same large brown wolf that had killed her mother, years ago. She was exhausted from the fight, but she continued to push on to kill it. Suddenly, a large black wolf showed up in her dream, behind the brown one. She couldn’t make out its blurred face, but it was familiar to her. It growled at her and prepared to pounce on her, from behind the large brown wolf, she knew this was the end,the black wolf was going to end her life, just like the brown one had her mother’s. It leaped towards her, she braced herself for the feel of its large jaws to snap her neck and end it all, then she woke up.She snapped awake covered in sweat, heart racing, with the smell of fear about her. She took several gulps of air, consciously breathing in and out to calm herself, then looked around the cave. The bright
Xander battled with himself and Shadow the whole time he was running, he fought for control of Shadow. By the time he had ran his frustrations, anger, desire, and all the other emotions out, he was exhausted. The mental battle itself was exhausting. He didn’t know how much longer he could take. After a while, Shadow finally gave him control and went to the back of his mind. Shadow had an unyielding desire to go back to the cave to mark and claim his mate, Xander, couldn’t allow that. Therefore, he fought Shadow until they both were mentally and physically exhausted from running and battling for control. They lay down in complete exhaustion in the middle of the woods. He changed back into his human form and just laid there on the ground, panting from the physical and mental exertion. Thankfully the rain had died down to a sprinkle. He finally chose to have a conversation with Shadow, a conversation which was long overdue, and hadn’t happened in years.“Shadow?” he questioned hesitantly
As Rae approached the hot spring, she dropped the lavender on the floor and changed back into her human form. Calypso grabbed the bunch of lavender flowers and tossed them into the hot spring. After a few moments the scent of lavender filled the cavern, she then walked into the pool, letting out a tired sigh. She ducked under water, washing away all the dirt, grime, and mud, which had accumulated on her skin from the long trek to the cave, and the storm. She gently pulled a few twigs and leaves from her long hair and floated on her back, letting the warm water envelope her, and relaxing in the water, with a hint of lavender scent from the flowers.“Hey, Rae?” Caly said in her mind. “Hmm,” came Rae’s relaxed response.“What do you think of all this?” she questioned.“I haven’t the slightest idea,” Rae responded, “All I know is that I am pretty sure he is our mate.”“I thought so, too, but why lie about being a wolf? And deny yourself the pleasure of a mate?” Calypso questioned.“Well,
“I don’t know, but I am pretty sure he is our mate.” Rae responded in her head, “I felt the pull and the bond trying to form as his canines pricked our neck.” Just then she heard a long sorrowful howl.“So, he’s a wolf then?” Calypso asked confused since she hadn’t once smelled it on him.“He is, but I don’t know from what pack.” “But how does he not smell like one?” Calypso asked confused.“I don’t know, but we need to find out. Go after him!” Rae urged.Calypso immediately changed into her beautiful white wolf, and followed him, she caught his wolf scent of arousal as she went deeper into the cave and into a tunnel that led past a large pool that had heat rising from it. She walked closer to the pool, studying it, she felt the warmth radiate off it. Part of her just wanted to jump in, but a more urgent part pushed her to continue past it and to find her mate. She walked past the pool into another cavern that led to another tunnel filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Calypso’s w
Fuck! I can’t do this! He thought and stormed over to the fire, he grabbed her arm, turned her around and gave her a hard passionate kiss filled with frustration, desire, anguish, hunger and hope for more, yet anger at wanting more. The kiss bruised her lips, it was hard and molten hot, she had no choice but to take it all in. He forced her mouth open wide with his tongue, ruthlessly and relentlessly kissing her, she met him with just as much hunger. Calypso had no idea what took over her at his dominate kiss, but she met him full force, their tongues tangled in a heated battle, his claiming dominance over hers. She took his tongue deeper into her mouth and thrust hers into his. He tasted amazing, and his scent enveloped her. She could not get enough of his kiss, she pressed hard against him, wanting to melt into him. She had been denying herself so much over the years that she gave up fighting and submitted to his dominance. The blanket she was holding dropped to the ground as she r
Present day.....Calypso picked up the manilla file folder again and took a deep breath. It's now or never, she thought. "I can do this, right Rae?" She anxiously questioned her wolf."You sure can Caly! You have been through much worse, reading about it isn't going to change anything, or minimize
Several Weeks Later.....Calypso had no idea how she was going to do this, she still cannot believe that he was gone. She looked at herself in the mirror, she had dark circles under her eyes, from nights of nightmares and crying her eyes out over the loss of Travis. She looked at the black dress sh
Two Years Ago.......Axel rushed into his father's study, ready to report what happened at the LaCroix territory during what was supposed to be a parlay between packs. As he entered the study, his father got up, concerned with the urgency that Axel entered. "Axel, my boy, what's wrong?""A lot," he
A car honked its horn from behind him, he realized he had been sitting at the stop sign for a few minutes with his right blinker on. He turned, then pulled off the road at a small picnic pavilion at the edge of the woods, near a hiking trail. He parked his truck and got out, beginning to follow th
