Giselle’s Pov

“I’m going to take her upstairs, she looks tired,” Ivan said as he wraps his arms around my waist. I glanced at him in surprise, when did he stand up and why was he talking to me?

Cyrus stared at his brother for a moment, I expected him to say no. He hated his brother’s guts, he never allowed his brother near me.

“Please do,” Cyrus said the he went back to soothing Zara. I scoffed, for the first time in my entire life, i felt played.

The pain in my chest began to intensify, it was as if I was carrying a heavy load on my chest.

Ivan noticing my plight carried me in princess style, if it was in the past, I would have yelled for him to leave me alone but I don’t have that energy tonight. I had more important things to deal with in the morning.

Ivan gently placed me down on my bed. I quickly took the pills on my nightstand and swallowed it.

“Aren’t you leaving?’ I asked as I stared at the muscular man who towered over me. Ivan was the opposite of Cyrus, he was straightforward, playful yet dangerous.

One of the reasons Cyrus hated associating himself with his brother was because Ivan was in involved with people from the underworld.

“I deserve a thank you,” Ivan said as he arched an eyebrow, “You looked like you were about to cry.”

My cheeks turned red in embarrassment, “I didn’t ask you to save me Ivan, please get out before Cyrus comes here.’

Ivan chuckled, “You seriously think my brother would have your time, didn’t you see the way his eyes sparkled when he talked to her, I guarantee you he won’t be here till tomorrow morning,’

A part of me wanted to defend my husband but  deep down I knew he was right.

“I haven’t caught them together yet so it might be a misunderstanding,” I muttered under my breath.

“Oh you naive little thing, if he really loved you as he claimed, my mother would never call you a wench,” he said as he walked around the room.

I bit my lips, “Sometimes I think it’s my fault.”

Ivan gazed at me in surprise, he didn’t expect me to say that considering the fact I have been avoiding him for the past five years.

“Because of the stupid hole in my heart I can’t have sex with him for too long, I can’t exercise neither can I give birth because it’s to strenuous for my health, tell me what man wouldn’t cheat.’

“He already knew this when he married you, he has no fucking excuse to cheat,”Ivan said with a grunt, “Stop with the self pity Giselle, that’s unlike you.”

I snorted, “You don’t know me.”

“It seems you have forgotten that I was your original fiancee, I warned you not to marry my brother, do you remember what you said,” he said as he arched an eyebrow.

I winced as I started to recall the memories. I met Cyrus back in college, back then he was attentive, sweet and cute. I found no faults in him in fact, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Imagine my shock when I found out my dad wanted me to marry a boy who saved him from a car accident. I found it even more hysterical when I found out my supposed fiancee was my boyfriend’s elder brother.

I did tell Cyrus about it and he was furious, he told me about how dangerous his brother was and about how his brother got casted out of the family.

I wasn’t afraid of Ivan at first, but that was until he pointed a gun at his brother one rainy evening.

I arrived at the scene only too see three dead men and a wounded Cyrus on the floor of the street, up till now, I have no idea what really happened that night.

There and then he told me not to marry Cyrus, he said Cyrus was a psychopath. I still don’t believe it though.

Cyrus might be a cheat but he wasn’t a psycho. I chose Cyrus. I would never forget what I said to Ivan that night.

Cyrus is my everything, I would rather die than marry a a psycho like you. I know people like you, you act all nice but in reality, I would be your punching bag if I ever married you.

Ivan didn’t attend my wedding, whenever he sees he just stares at me like I am an artifact on display. I’m surprised he even talked to me this night.

“I’m glad I was able to jog up your memories,” he said as he turned around but then he paused, “and also don’t mistake this for anything, I just pity you.”

“I know,” I said as I bit my lips.

“If you know what’s good for you, leave,” he said then he left the room.

The moment he left, tears began to leak from my eyes. I was tired of everything.

Sighing, I stood up. I needed to talk to Cyrus. If I left the house without saying whatever was on my mind, I won’t be at rest.

I walked out of the room into the hallway only to see everywhere was empty.

I frowned, where hell was he?

He wasn’t in Zara's room was he?

I quickly walked towards the direction of Zara's room. At last, I stood at the front door but a sound stopped me from knocking.

Was that a moan?
