Mira’s POV
“In the history of useless omegas, you're the worst I've seen.” Jerrithan, my father, growled at me. My mother, Allena scoffed, “aren't all omegas useless?” I couldn't dare to look at them. They had properly infiltrated fear into my heart, making me worse than I already was. Being a late bloomer was hard enough so much that being an omega stamped my death certificate. “Are you going to keep your gaze fixed to the floor or respond to the allegations made by your sister?!” Allena yelled at me. “Allegations? Mama?” Arianna sounded betrayed. My younger sister who had always been stronger than me, and of course, more cherished by our parents. “She did them.” “Well, I'm sorry.” Allena sighed. “We have to be fair, and give her a chance to defend herself.” I almost scoffed. She spoke like she gave me a chance the last time Arianna spoke, or even the last hundred times she had lied against me. “Speak!” My father yelled at me. “Erm… I… I…” I stuttered. “You poured acid in my bath, and I almost got burnt!” Arianna hissed at me. I sighed, wondering how badly things would have gone if I had actually stepped into the acid water she made for me. “Why are you accusing me of what you did to hurt me?” I asked, and a slap landed on my face. I could feel my cheeks burning, and my insides were flaming. I hated being weak. I hated being unloved by my parents and maltreated because I don't possess a certain level of power. “You dare accuse your sister of such evil that you only are capable of?!” She yelled at me, and I held my throat, swallowing my words and tears. I was used to being beaten, but I was still shocked at the way they despised me. I hate them just as much as they hate me. Maybe I even hate them a little more. My heart gladdens at every thought of them being ripped apart by a much stronger force. Who knows? Maybe the raging wolf hunters and pack wars would make their way here and end my suffering. “It's enough.” My father's voice echoed through the room. One would have thought that he was there for my salvation. “Are you saying she shouldn't be punished?!” Allena growled. “You spoil this girl too much!” “She must be punished!” Arianna yelled. I remained silent and kept my gaze pinned to the ground. “She must be, but we need her to be in shape.” He argued. “The full moon is in a few days, and she must mate with the eligible ones in the pack and perform the one duty she's capable of performing in her miserable existence.” “Giving birth to strong children.” Allena said, and a smirk grew on her face. I wanted to wipe off the smirk so much that it made my chest hurt. “That's if she doesn't die during the mating process.” Jerrithan hissed in disgust at the thought of how weak I was. Arianna did not try to hide the pleasure she felt at the possibility that I'd die during mating. “So, I'll beg you now,” Allena muttered, moving close to me, “do the one thing you know how to do right.” “I hate you so much.” The words slipped out of my mouth as a whisper, but Jerrithan heard them loud and clear. With everyone's reactions, they must have heard the words I spoke. Jerrithan reacted way too fast. I was struggling to breathe and see at the same time because the slap sent me sprawling all over the place. I could barely maintain balance, and that was a real fight for my life. Tears freely rolled down my eyes, although it felt good to have told them how I truly felt about them and their rule of tyranny. “Repeat that?” He growled, hovering over me. He was about six foot five tall, so I was immediately intimidated by his height. “Of course she hates us.” Arianna hissed. “Doesn't that explain why she'd pour acid into my bath so I'd experience so much pain.” “It's a miracle that you even figured it out before entering.” Allena sighed. “We must teach her a lesson before she makes other omegas miserable as she is, think that they can have their way and try to kill us whenever they wish!” Jerrithan growled in anger and hit his hand against the wall. I'm pretty sure that he pictured the wall as my face and would have enjoyed breaking my skull. “I, Jerrithan Davis, Alpha of the Craven pack, banish you,” He spoke, and I was filled with shock. “Uh-oh, it's happening.” Arianna said with a gentle squeal. Allena smiled so brightly that you'd have thought she won the lottery to the mythical genie wishes. “...Mira Davis, omega of the Craven pack, to a life of loneliness as a rogue. You are not to step foot in this territory any longer, or else , you will pay for it with your life!” I was shocked, but at the same time I felt liberated. I felt relieved at the same time as I felt scared. The outside world can not be as scary as this place is, can it? I sighed, unable to say anything or even settle on a thought and think it through. Jerrithan's beta rushed in, panting hard. “The pack is under attack!” He yelled. Jerrithan was taken aback. “By whom?” He asked as a smirk grew on my face. I had never felt so happy about anything. My greatest wish was to watch them die as I walked out of the pack’s territory. “The Stone Creek pack.” He responded. “Fuck!” Jerrithan growled. “Gather everyone and let's protect the pack.” I was going to head on out to secure my future as a rogue with joy and happiness when Arriana pulled me back. “Where do you think you're going?” She asked with a high pitched tone. Jerrithan hissed and weaved his way past us, but before he did, he slammed my head against the wall, causing me to lose consciousness slowly. I saw people rubbing helter skelter, and I felt Arianna kicking my stomach. I could hear screaming words at me. They were loud, but they sounded very distant. *** I woke up to someone hovering over me. He had squatted low and was running his hands through my face. I would have jerked away in fear, but I was used to people hovering like that. I was only ever safe because I was Jerrithan’s daughter. It was dark, so I had trouble seeing his face. My head ached terribly also. The events before I was knocked out flooded into my head, and I felt my chest rise in fear. “Ah… you're awake.” He said with a very thick voice. He had this aura around him that made him seem very scary. “Who… who… who are you?” I managed to ask. “I am Alpha Harrison of the Stone Creek pack.” He said and I shook to my bones. “I am your saviour.”Sorren’s POV I walked around the room as Mark took care of Mira. We were about to leave the library when she suddenly changed. She had been stabilized, but Mark hadn't found a root cause for whatever was happening to her. “Alpha.” Khalid muttered, walking into the room. “What is it?” I asked, walking closer to him. “Lady Selina wants to see you.” Khalid muttered. I glanced at Mira’s body on the bed, wondering how she was feeling. Earlier, I just couldn't take the thought that someone else had made her laugh. It made me feel weird. I turned to look at Mark, who was checking her out. “Send me an update as soon as she's fine.” I demanded. “I will, Alpha.” he growled, and I left the room with Khalid. My mind was drawn to Nia and the dilemma she was apparently in. “What do you think I should do?” I asked, folding my arms as I slowed down my pace. Khalid took a deep breath, very knowledgeable about my relationship with Nia and how vulnerable I seemed to be around her. “Whatever
Mira’s POV I watched Alpha Sorren drag Luna Nia away. Knots formed in my stomach, and I felt like vomiting at the sight, but I remained calm. I took the book I was reading the last time, and thankfully, I still had my pencil on me. I found a place to sit, wondering what business Alpha Sorren had with Luna Nia. I was using my pencil to continue what I was doing. I didn't realize that Khalid had crept in on me and was standing right behind me. “What are you drawing?” His voice jolted me, causing me to jump. The book flew out of my hands, and the pencil fell. Khalid chuckled as I grabbed the book and hugged it. “I'm sorry.” I muttered fearfully.“No, I'm sorry.” Khalid chuckled, walking closer. He had his seat beside me. “I startled you. What are you drawing?”I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say as I could be punished. “I'm sorry.” I muttered. “I can erase everything I've drawn.” “No, Mira.” Khalid rolled his eyes, making himself comfortable beside me.He stretched out his hand
Sorren’s POV I spent the whole night on guard since the hunters didn't come close. Thankfully, Selina was at peace with me, nor bothering about the stupid words Harrison had uttered. My mind was filled with chaos, moving from Selina to Nia to Mira. Mira had the most time in my headspace. I was annoyed that she'd let her younger sister trample on her that much that she was so scared of her. “Alpha? Do you think the hunters would be back?” Peter asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.“Well, I think so.” I sighed, folding my arms. “If they don't attack tonight, it'd be because they know of Harrison’s presence.” “So, what do you want us to do?” Khalid asked, awaiting instructions. “I'll figure it out.” I said, like my mind wasn't already filled with thoughts of three women.“I'll stay on guard, Alpha.” Khalid whispered to me. “You should get some sleep.”“I will. I just need some fresh air.” I sighed.“Is it because Luna Nia is here?” Khalid asked, and I shot him a glare, forcing him
Mira’s POV Alpha Sorren looked disturbed, although my current dilemma was being at that table, and the most horrible comment Alpha Harrison had made that'd probably put me in a lot of trouble with Lady Selina. “I'd like to excuse myself from the table to check out a situation.” Alpha Sorren growled, leaving the table. I started shaking my leg nervously as I stared at the food on my plate, unable to eat it. I thought about leaving since Alpha Sorren had headed out, but my legs were too weak. My knees kept shaking, and I couldn't even try to stand. “So, what do you think about the meal?” Lady Selina asked Alpha Harrison who chuckled and gave interesting compliments. I maintained eye contact with Arianna for a few seconds until Alpha Sorren walked back in. “It was a false alarm.” He said, taking his seat. He looked disturbed, but everyone kept eating. After what felt like an eternity of stirring food endlessly, I eventually left the table, and I ran straight to my room. I could h
Sorren’s POV The faceless Luna made my skills look like a joke. I spent every sword strike trying to keep my head safe from all her attempts to kill me. She barely spoke a word and disappeared into nothing after almost killing me countless times. I had Mark, the Pack’s doctor , check out some of the injuries I sustained because they refused to heal as fast as every other wound. “I need to see whatever is doing this, because it doesn't seem normal any longer.” Mark sighed, shaking his head. And now, Alpha Harrison and a part of his pack stood before me. Nia was right beside him, and I couldn't help but look at her.“Alpha Sorren!” Harrison chuckled. “Thank you for letting us stay in your pack.” “Don't mention.” I responded.“You don't have to be so cold.” He rolled his eyes, moving over to hug Selina. Nia moved closer, looked in my eyes as she pulled me in for a hug like her mate had done with Selina. “Don't touch me.” I growled softly so that she'd be the only one to hear. She
Mira’s POV Unable to leave my bed, I kept staring at the door, thinking about how to escape whatever Arianna and Alpha Harrison would throw at me. Arianna would definitely do everything to make my life miserable, and I might never be able to avoid it. There was another knock, and I shifted uncomfortably on the bed, imagining it to be Lady Selina. “Mira, it's me.” Raina’s voice came, making me calm. “Come in.”Raina walked in with her arms folded. She sat on the chair Alpha Sorren had just sat in. I hoped that she wouldn't catch his scent and then question me about it. “Look, I'm sorry.” She said, making me surprised. “I only reacted like that because I was jealous.” I almost forgot the pressing issue before Alpha Sorren came to deliver more bad news. “Because Justin told me to clean instead of you?” I asked, and her face flushed in embarrassment. That was the only thing I could think of since things went wrong at that time. “Yes.” She rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath. “H
